This is a traditional cave house with a queen-size bed in bedroom and two beds in sleeping loft. Bathroom is modern. Kitchen is adequate for light cooking. The terrace with its view of the caldera, volcanic islands, Therassia, sunsets, and cruise ships from a height of 1500 feet is huge. Umbrella, built-in table and seating, and sun beds are on terrace. Lovely plantings. House has clothes-washer and wi-fi.
I am an American retired pediatrician (non-Greek-American) who fell in love with Greeca and Santorini 30 years ago.
martin finkelman purchased this house in 1988
It was sold to me by friends 25 years ago at a time when foreign residents could only 'lease' house. With the European Union and the extensions to other foreigners, I was able to own this house out-right in 2001.
Location, Location, Location!!!
My husband and I highly recommend the beautiful cave house on the caldera. It was the vacation of our dream. We wanted to stay in a Greek home instead of a modern hotel. The owner called upon our arrived to make sure we had arrived safely and found everything to our liking. He had a journal to tell you about everything in the home. The cave home was just lovely but when you walk out the front door ever day and see the view of the Agean Sea, what else can you ask for. What else---the gorgeous sunset every evening and you never have to leave you terrace. I would highly recommend this lovely place to anyone. You will have a wonderful time We definitely want to go back. Joyce
House is at the end of Firostefani, the Northern suburb of Fira, the main town, and before Imeriovigli (all on the way from Fira to Oia. It is situated on a lane, which is parallel to a walking street, which is parallel to the highway from Fira to Oia.
