We stayed at the property for a family reunion of 3 families comprised of 18 people, including 13 "kids" ranging from 13 to 28. Overall, the house was perfect for our needs. It is expansive, with 2 true masters and at least 1 other suite that was used by the 3rd parents but there are literally bedrooms and baths everywhere to the point where it took us a half hour to fully inventory the rooms and assign bedrooms to the masses. the basement has a living area and maybe 6 bunks and couch which was the man-cave for the 6 youngest cousins. The main house is massive with a nice deck, large kitchen and dining area, large living room game area, etc . there is also a separate living area in a separate building, with kitchen, connected to main house and accessed across a 2nd floor bridge. that separate area had 2 bedrooms that shared a jack and jill bathroom and was perfect for the 28 yo couple.
Beautiful views on the top of a mountain, a crows nest on the roof. house is a drive up a dirt road maybe about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the bottom so cant walk anywhere but short drive to town and some food, groceries and beer. basketball court In separate building with a yoga studio a plus, and hot tub in yard was nice. My only complaints: ice machine didn't work in 2nd fridge and WIFI is terrible. The wifi is limited to like 5 or 10GB for everyone, for the whole stay, BUT we couldn't access the wifi all week anyway. We all used hotspots which was a pain. management was somewhat unresponsive but I guess our problems were not life or death either.
Not to detract, I still gave this property 5 stars. this is truly a great property as long (as you have an unlimited data plan).
Wonderful family get away!
Wow! What a property! So much fun to spend time together and this property provides all you need in terms of space and gathering areas! The activity areas-gym, hot tub, kids room, tv room, great room are wonderful! The separate apartment area was great for the family with a new baby too! Great service and would love to come again!
Wedding Week was AWESOME!
We stayed at the Swan Valley Lodge in early August for our daughters wedding. We brought our kids, their spouses, both of our parents and a couple of sisters and aunt (20 staying at the house). The house is perfect for long stays as it is spread out allowing for separation from each other so you don't feel crammed, including full bathrooms for every bedroom. The kids (and adults) loved being able to go to the gym and get rid of some energy. The deck was the grandparents favorite hang out place as the weather is awesome and there was always wild life to be watched. The kitchen is big enough to allow for cooking meals when we wanted and enough table space for all to sit, relax and enjoy.
We were blessed that the owners allowed us to have the wedding reception on the property. We had a great time with about 40 family and friends in attendance. The property was big enough to have the reception out on the grounds, allowing for catering and not fill cramped or limited.
This property allowed my daughters dreams to come true and for all to enjoy being a part of it. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay here.
Spacious, comfortable luxury!
Our family reunion was a complete success! We all loved the lodge, with pretty much every amenity you could ask for! The full kitchen saw much cooking and reminiscing. We made some of mom's recipes and talked about our dad's coin collecting hobby. The hot tub got alot of use, the theater was a hit with the younger crew! It was a quick trip to Bigfork for fun in the water and groceries, and don't forget fresh Flathead Cherries! We went to Lakeside and took a ride on the Far West for one afternoon, and to Kalispell for the Farmer's Market one morning. Other than that, we were "at home" in the lodge. Small gathering spots made it easy to get a little down time from the crowd. About the only thing I wished for was a window fan....The ac unit was a little noisy and it's more economical to have a window fan. It was HOT that week, with temps above 90 during the day.
Fabulous week with family
WOW - this home was absolutely perfect for our family of 17. We thoroughly enjoyed the roominess of the home. I think that most of us would all agree the most memorable moments were sitting on the balcony and enjoying the early morning sun rises and the evening sunsets. The kitchen is extremely spacious and allows a number of people to be cooking and prepping at the same time. It also had ample pots and pans and was also stocked with those essentials that you don't always remember to pack, ie. seasonings, sugar, flour etc. The large dining table allowed us all to be able to sit and enjoy meals together. The kids loved the basketball gym and the workout area. Another delightful amenity was the hot tub. After a long days hike, a good soak in the hot tub was so relaxing. While in the area we did numerous hikes, not only in Glacier, but also Jewel Basin. We took a tour in one of the refurbished Jammer Tour bus on the "Going to the Sun Highway" and also did a river rafting trip. Evenings were spent playing games on deck and lawn area, watching a family of deer frolic and play, playing pool, board games and one night we rented a Karaoke machine. Raina at Enjoy Montana Rentals was so pleasant to work with, she greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around the house which was extremely helpful. Only 2 drawbacks - the house is up quite away up a hill so in order to get anywhere, you really do need to drive and the week we were there we we were unable to have a bonfire at night as the fire danger was extremely high. This truly was a memorable vacation that will not soon be forgotten. Hopefully someday we will be able to return to the area. We had a wonderful time and the house was exceptional!!!
Beautiful house with amazing mountain views!
Beautiful home stocked with everything to make our vacation memorable. Bigfork was a short distance away by car.
