Overview

About the property

Spacious 3/2 end unit Town home sleeps 8 in beds!

You'll love My Florida Oasis in beautiful, historic St. Augustine Florida. Where else can you visit and be surrounded by beaches, waterways, a Spanish fort, the oldest house and oldest school house in the U.S.?

There's so much to do......and yet so peaceful. You'll be amazed!!

For most people, about a 10 minute walk to the beach. Due to Hurricane Matthew our beach walkover was destroyed and you may need to drive to the beach for access. There are lots of beach access points in Vilano. Our charming, spacious, Intracostal waterway side, end unit town home has a fenced yard for your private enjoyment. It includes a small patio and large deck with pergola. Beautiful Florida live oak trees surround the home and often you can hear the sound of the ocean while enjoying the outdoor area.

Upstairs is the large, private master bedroom suite which over looks the two story great room. This spacious room has a luxurious orthopedic pillowtop king bed set and a twin trundle daybed (2 twin beds). You can turn on the overhead fan, open the window near the bed and listen to the ocean as you gently drift off to sleep. The master suite includes a dressing area with 2 closets, sink, and even a small ceiling fan. The bath area includes a tub with shower. You can bathe while gazing through the skylight at the moon.

Downstairs is a large bedroom with a king pillowtop bed, charming bead board ceiling, ceiling fan, armoire and closet. The bath, just around the corner, includes a whirlpool tub and shower for your enjoyment. The second downstairs bedroom is off the great room and has 2 twin beds, ceiling fan, vaulted ceilings, and beautiful windows overlooking the back yard.

The kitchen is fully appointed and updated. It includes a built-in microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and small eating island. You can cook to your heart's content, because there's everything you need, even a George Foreman grill! There's even a charcoal grill too.

The great room has wood floors, ceiling fan, dining area, a loveseat and couch, and plenty of ottoman space so you can kick up you feet and watch the HDTV with satellite service and DVD player. The home also includes secure wireless service so you can access the internet whenever and where ever you wish.

We have everything you need so, relax, move in and enjoy your stay!!!

Best deal in the Neighborhood for it's size!

About Lynn G. - Owner

Geoff and Lynn both grew up in various parts of Florida but moved to Ohio. We could not wait to move back to Florida so we bought My Florida Oasis so we'd be able to have an oasis to visit and dream about returning......UPDATE!!

We now live in Vilano!! We can meet and greet you, if you like, and make your stay more comfortable. We're here if you need us.

Lynn G. - Owner purchased this townhome in 2011

Why Lynn G. - Owner chose St. Augustine Area

We love the area, it has all the best Florida offers and then some. It's close to everything we'd ever want to do and it's not overly crowded. You can walk and bike ride and there's so much to see. We love the quaint peacefulness, and beauty of the area. There's nothing like being on a barrier island if you love being surrounded by water. Sunrises over the Atlantic; Sunsets over the intracoastal.

What makes this townhome unique

Many of the town homes in the neighborhood are like apartments. We loved this town home because it feels like home. It's light and airy, with a skylight in the upstairs bath, solar tubes in the living room, and lots of windows in the downstairs twin bedroom. Being an end unit it has a larger backyard so there's room for a large deck. We know you'll love it too, and you won't want to leave either! We have to remind ourselves.... we can always come back!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Most wonderful place – Vilano Beach’s “Short Walk to the Beach”

The "Short Walk to the Beach" is a perfect town home for family and friends. It's location is easy access to dining and marketing as well the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. We were there for the full moon and walked to/from the ocean and enjoyed a perfectly clear viewing of it's rising. The SWTB's accommodations offer anything a guest might wish to have at hand. From the kitchen side - the refrigerator is huge, new washer/dryer in adjacent space and having the flexibility of the dining room table and the counter/bar between kitchen and dining room allowed room to work on projects at table, and dine in addition to finding a place to perch and visit while cooking.

The large screen TV was perfect for the 'Florida Room' in addition to comfortable couches and oversized love seat. Adjacent to the Florida Room is one of the bedrooms with 2 beds and plenty of light on all three sides. The SWTB was immaculate when we arrived and had plenty of towels, blankets, appliances and anything we might need.

A special feature of SWTB is the garden area. There is a long garden/patio off the dining room's sliding glass door where a game of Bocee can be set up and enjoyed before accessing a wonderful raised terrace garden. Sitting higher than the yard level and the pergola overhead made for a tropical feel to time spent during dinner and after dinner conversation and relaxation. The garden was just coming into bloom and is certainly a wonderful area during the summer with the pergola providing overhead coverage from the sun in the afternoon.

Information and conversations with Lynn were the best part – we never felt like something we asked or needed to know was a problem and her replies were always immediate.

Certainly you will enjoy your stay at SWTB any time of year and this wonderful home's hosts. Crosby Sisters - Florida, NY, St Augustine, FL and St Louis, MO.

Beautiful Home, amazing Owners!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at my oasis. The home was clean and offered all the comforts of home. Perhaps the most unexpected pleasures of this home is the owner Lynn. She is simply amazing. While on our stay, we had no idea where to find a printer so I asked Lynn. Much to my surprise and delight, she printed my items and hand delivered them to the door! This is just one example of the kindness and hospitality she extended to my family and I. We plan to revisit the beautiful historic town of St. Augustine, in the summer and there is no question as to where we will stay!

Perfect!! Comfortable, convenient, clean...so close to the beach and to the old city.

  • 5 of 5

The house is attractive and spacious. if you want to make a meal in the kitchen, a local grocery is close by. If you want to see the old city of St. Augustine you are only minutes away. The beach is across the street! Five of us had more than enough comfortable space to ourselves. Lynn was great and very helpful. Next time we come back to St. Augustine we'll plan on staying here again.

Neat, clean and fairly spacious town house

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was well maintained, clean, and had nearly all the amenities we wanted. The nature reserve a few miles to the north was a real gem; amazing trails if you like hiking or running. Lynn was helpful and very responsive to all our questions.

Perfect family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Let me say that this rental was my first VRBO experience. With kids, there is nothing like having a condo or house to occupy. I will never go back to hotel rooms on vacation again!

My husband, myself, and our two children were in town for a friends wedding. We were hoping two other friends would also be able to make it to town for the wedding, so we wanted a 3 bedroom/2 bath house as an option. This fit the bill perfectly. Lynn was very accommodating and flexible with our arrival time. The house is great - very clean and set up to allow for multiple activities (one adult feeding small kids while others sit on the deck and drink coffee and another is watching tv). We did not feel cramped but still felt like we had privacy. The rooms are generously sized and the beds were perfect for us. We like a firm mattress.

We did not walk to the beach from the house. The wedding took place on the beach and another group of friends had rented a beachfront house so we spent a fair amount of time during the day at their place visiting with everyone. I didn't want to be beach front but knowing we could get to the sand in a short walk was good enough for us.

We are already planning our next trip to St. Augustine and hopefully can rent from Lynn again. Her place isn't fancy - but to me that was why I felt so comfortable. I wasn't afraid my 2 year old was going to spill juice on the white carpets! I was nervous about something bad happening - but of course it didn't and we left saying that we couldn't wait to come back.

Vacations are for relaxing and Lynn has made her house easy for that to happen.

It works.

  • 4 of 5

This property is no-frills, but comfortable. It isn't the Shangri-La, but for the price it is comfortable and gets the job done. The owner is very helpful & responsive. Note that you need to bring your own laundry detergent and dishwasher tabs, as these are not provided. Hand soap and shower gel was provided. Also, the nearest beach isn't all that great, with shell-y coquina instead of soft white sand. Instead, driving down to St Augustine and going to the state park might be a better bet, as those beaches are nice. There is nothing within walking distance of the townhome, so you will need to plan on driving about 8 minutes one way to the nearest grocery store & pizza restaurant.

Owner's Response: Elaine, Thank you for staying at our town home. Please note that dishwasher tabs are provided under the kitchen sink. If the cleaners forgot to put them there before your stay I am very sorry. We now also provide basic shampoo for our guests too. The grocery store, Publix is only 3 miles straight down the highway so it is quite close and there is a Chinese restaurant and Pizza restaurant by the Publix. There are 3 restaurants on the water all within 3/4 to 1 1/2 miles. They are The Reef, Caps on the Water and Aunt Kates. Some of our guests have actually enjoyed walking to the closest ones for a relaxing meal overlooking the water. Thanks again for staying with us. The Gray Family
