About Kristen D
I am a Louisville native that loves her city and hosting others that come to town! My husband and I are passionate about all that Louisville has to offer. We frequently love to venture out and try the great restaurants this city has to offer, old and new. We love music, a great beer and the outdoors. When we aren't working on our homes or out exploring, we are at home with our three little ones.
Kristen D purchased this House in 2015
Why Kristen D chose Schnitzelburg
We live in town so feel free to call or text us with questions about Louisville or recommendations for restaurants or bars. We will do everything we can to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable
100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date. 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
Three bedrooms upstairs, two beds downstairs and a bed on the main floor. A lot of stairs in the house, and no shower on the main floor. The house was nice, had everything you could ask for.
Our new Go To rental for Louisville!
Annual family trip to Kentucky Kingdom. We will never again rent hotel rooms in Louisville. The owners thought of every need we might have! It’s hard to please everyone in my family but they nailed it with their beautiful home.
Kitchen - had it all! Thank you so much for coffee!!! We were able to cook every meal with the provided dishes.
Dining areas fit us all
4 seater in the kitchen plus the long dining room didn’t feel cramped at all when we sat together.
Living space - so welcoming we never turned on the tv. We just talked. Sectional sofa and 2 sitting chairs pretty much fit us all.
Front porch - chairs to hangout were great as my little one insisted on riding her bike on the sidewalk. Easy to watch her.
Fenced in backyard is awesome too when my 3 year old wanted to play safely with her toys outside.
Basement - omg! Perfect! It was great separating the families sleeping down there plus it had its own sitting furniture.
My aging father got the main floor king right off the kitchen which he appreciated not having to climb stairs except to shower.
Speaking of showers - having 3 meant we all had the privacy we needed plus the half bath on the main floor. And towels for days!!! Rentals never have enough towels for our group but they seemed to have enough for an army.
The 3 upstairs bedrooms fit all the sisters and we didn’t argue all weekend. The closets (with hangers) were huge too so our rooms didn’t look messy at all. Laundry baskets were a big bonus too! The dressers were great as we love to “move in” to feel more at home. Plus, having our own thermostat meant we didn’t have to freeze upstairs with the air on 68 since we all like 74 for bedtime but the boys in the basement like it cold.
Beds, pillows, blankets, throws, and extras of everything were so comfortable.
Plenty of parking for the 4 vehicles we had. Loved having front and back entrances too. Made unloading the cars easy.
We can’t wait to plan next year’s trip so we can stay again. Except next year, we are going to stay longer. 3 nights wasn’t long enough.
Thank you a million times over for such an amazing family vacation. The layout separated us when we needed alone time but kept us close enough to be together.
Quick family getaway
We were in town for the bourbon trail and first visit to Kentucky. This home was perfect, very close to the airport and quick drive to downtown. We enjoyed this house very much and will gladly return. Any questions I had Kristen was very quick to answer, thank you for that.
Perfect for bourbon trail
5 of us came for a few days of bourbon tasting. We each had our own room. The house is a short Uber ride to Louisville , very clean, and the host answered all our questions quickly.
Beautiful home in great location. Very responsive owner.
Needed a central place to stay while enjoying the bourbon trail. This location was great. The owner was quick to answer any questions that we had. Lots of space. We were 3 couples, so there were 2-3 beds that we didn't even use. Will definitely consider this house next time we are in town.
Stayed with 3 families during an event at the expo. Much bigger than expected!
Germantown's unique mix of old and new is continually attracting young and old to experience its charm. There are countless neighborhood restaurants, Monnik Beer Company and historic Nords bakery a couple blocks from the home. The home is conveniently located close to the airport, The University of Louisville, the Kentucky Expo Center and Churchill Downs!
