About the property

Our place is in the centre of Lisbon right in the heart of historic Alfama, close to the Castle of São Jorge and many other popular sights. Alfama is the home of Fado music with buzzy local cafes in enchanting streets.

We've modernised the flat to a very high spec yet kept many of the traditional features intact providing our guests with a local & luxurious experience all in one! You're on a raised ground level so easy to get in & out, especially for families with kids. We welcome you all.

The house has two bedrooms, which accommodate 4 people, yet the living room has a sofa that can be turned into a double bed. Extra guests are charged separately.

The best way to reach the house from the airport is by local Taxies, Cabify or Uber. As mentioned above, Alfama is a labyrinth of streets, which are lovely to explore, but after you left your bags at home. We can also provide you an option to book a private transfer to pick you up from the airport, yet this service is an extra fee and it needs to be booked more than 24hrs prior arrival. Therefore, should you consider this option, please send a private message after your booking is confirmed.

After you settled in your lovely home, most interesting landmarks are within minutes by foot. Should you like to explore the outskirts of Lisbon then metro, trains and buses are within 10 minutes walking distance.

We are both professionals but first & foremost good friends who own & manage this amazing flat.

We are both originally from Portugal but have lived in many cities throughout Europe including more recently, London.

We wanted to create a property that maintained all of Alfama's historical feel yet provide our guests with a first class, modern living experience internally. We think we've achieved this using some state-of-the-art architectural design, fixtures and fittings. Most of all, you don't have to pay inflated hotel room rates to enjoy tasteful luxury.

Great flat in the heart of Alfama

We loved this trendy flat in the heart of Alfama! It was very walkable to many sights that we wanted to see and a short walk to the Fado area. My nephew arrived first and was met by Vanessa who had a bottle of wine and a plate of custard tarts for us. He accidentally left his wallet in the taxi and Vanessa helped him with calls to retrieve it. we would debit return to this flat.

Security Problem

The flat is modern, clean and lacking in space in the bedrooms. It was a very light fit moving around the bottom of the master bed. Ana meet us upon our arrival and provided a bottle of wine and some local cakes. Our major concern would be that of security. During our second night in Lisbon, a person entered the flat while we slept and stole about $2,000 worth of items. We discovered that a person entered through an unlocked window. The flat lacks iron bars on the windows. The flats next door have bars on their windows. Upon a security upgrade, I would rate the flat as a 4+. Ana was responsive to our break in call. She called the police, who responded quickly. The front door lock was quickly replaced as per my wife's request.

Additionally, it’s the first such occurrence at our apartment and we don’t wish it to happen again. Safety and security of our guests is paramount and to that extent we do request that valuables are kept in the bedroom and doors/windows are shut properly at night. From a preventative perspective, we will look to install some other safety features imminently and duly take on board your suggestions too. Great location, excellent hosts

We truly enjoyed our stay at this property. It is centrally located in Alfama, walking distance to most major sites. The hosts were very attentive and surprised us with a welcome gift at.our arrival (thank you). I have no hesitation recommending this property to anyone.

Excellent accomodations!

Our stay in Lisbon was fantastic and this VRBO is an oasis! Ana helped us with our arrival, setting us up with a driver because we came in late. The wine and pastries welcome gift were sooo nice. After walking the streets for miles every day it was a great place to come home to. It's comfortable and quiet.
