Welcome to your Home away from Home in Montana!
What a beautiful home... the views from every room in the house were amazing... the kids enjoyed sledding down the hill and roasting s'mores and hot dogs in the fireplace... be prepared to drive as it is remote in the winter... the amenities of the home were well equipped...Abram was great as well...
Part of our family lives in the state of Washington, the other in North Dakota. We decided to meet half way to be together and enjoy our Christmas time together. We were all in awe of the beautiful home that greeted us at the end of a long journey. The setting was more than we had expected. It was like coming home for the holidays. We were welcomed by the owner's father, and then entered our Christmas paradise. The kitchen was fully stocked with the essentials. All we needed to do was fill the home with the familiar smells of cookies baking, and home cooked meals. The adults and children alike walked around in the winter wonderland, sledding down he hills, listening to the wolves howl, the coyotes yip, the elk bugling. We were thrilled to look up to see the deer looking in the windows at us several times. We sat by the fireplace and sipped hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows. We all felt like we were home for the holidays.. we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back again, and have already recommended this place to our friends and families. Thank you for making our Family Christmas perfect in every way.
If you are going to Montana, I would not recommend staying anywhere else. The owner of the Sun House is beyond accommodating and really went out of his way to make our stay everything we wanted it to be and more. He took the time to answer all of my questions and suggested places to visit. He knew how late we were arriving and took the time to go to the Sun House and turn on all the lights for us, so that it would be easy to find. He stayed up late, making sure we arrived safely and found the house. I would say he goes way beyond what is expected to make your stay special and I don't know of any other owner that would do that. Although we arrived at the house in the middle of the night, we couldn't help but look around the house for hours. It is beyond beautiful and the pictures don't do it justice. I would spend each morning alone just looking around. It is clean, spacious, accommodating, and what I would describe as a "castle". We enjoyed exploring Montana and Yellowstone but really enjoyed just hanging out in the house just as much. We enjoyed a fire and playing games with new friends. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. You really need a whole week to explore and relax. We can't wait to go back!
Our family gathered together to celebrate the holiday and spend some time together. The house was truly homey and very welcoming. My kids all love cooking so it had plenty of room for everyone to cook Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to have the crackling fire at night while playing games. The guys enjoyed going fishing and saw large herds of deer, elk and big horn sheep. They also said they caught fish but released them. They did bring three back the second day. Chico is just a short drive away and the hot springs were relaxing for the kids, moms and grandma. The house is truly in a great location and is exactly as pictured in the video.
We are talking of booking in the summer so that we can have access to Yellowstone and use the outdoor fire pit and other amenities.
Sunhouse was a fantastic find for a quick Yellowstone Trip for the ladies and kids. I wish we had time to stay a few more days. The property is as described, well appointed, and so comfortable. The owner provides just about everything you could need or want. The beds are comfortable, the common areas comfortable for a group of 10. The living room has several couches as well as side seating, and is open to the kitchen and dining room, both of which have plenty of seating choices. The dining room table is a great place to play cards and dominoes. When someone wants to get away from the group, the library off the living room was a nice quiet escape.
We were greeted each morning by Mule deer visiting the kitchen window and the backyard. We saw eagles, many ravens and magpies.
We used the inside fireplace a couple of nights, and had a bonfire and smores in the back yard fire pit as well. The kids enjoyed exploring the yard around the house.
House was clean and everything worked well. The bedrooms and kitchen were very accommodating. We found the common areas to be very inviting. Owner provided great customer service. The house is nicely located to Chico and Gardener. We highly recommend the property.
Yelowstone Park is the main Tourist Destination, with wonderful Wildlife Tours, and great Fishing Adventures on Yellowstone Lake. But, World-Famous Fly Fishing and Leisure and Whitewater River rafting on the Yellowtone River is not to be missed! There is also the wonderful Chico Hot Springs and Spa only minutes away, with horseback riding, and both casual and fine dining. Livingston is well known for its art, hometown welcome, and the annual 4th of July Parade, Rodeo, and full Fireworks Show ~ the best in the West! There is also great Hunting in the Fall, and awesome Skiing in the winter. We are centrally located near all of it ... Yellowstone Country at it's best, with all the conveniences of home!
