Bright and clean --- perfect location!
You can't beat the location of this charming house! It is a half block off the main street, and we were able to walk to all of the Leadville places that we wanted to visit. The house is cheerfully painted and very clean. We appreciated a reserved parking spot in front of the house. We also enjoyed the information about Leadville, both brochure-type tourist information and books about the area. In addition, the owners have provided a good starter supply of the essentials.
If we were to suggest something to make the house even better, it would be related to the windows. On a warm September day, it would have been nice to open a few windows and bring in some fresh, cool air (especially in the bedrooms for sleeping). However, the screens were covered by a plastic sheet which prevented this.
This is an excellent place to stay and enjoy the town of Leadville!
Quiet comfortable place to stay
Thank you for a very comfortable and quiet place to stay in Leadville, a half a block from the main street. The house is well appointed with a very relaxing living room, comfortable bed, well-equipped kitchen and it has a nice backyard patio. I appreciated the USB charging ports in the bedroom and private on-street parking. I look forward to staying again.
We had the very best stay in this charming home. I enjoyed reading the history in a photo book
This Leadville charm was absolutely perfect for our 5 day getaway for the Leadville MTB100.
The home was spotless from the great towels to clean refrigerator, oven and stove. The showers, sinks and toilets again so clean !! The home had everything you could want or need. Although they did not have a BBQ which required us to cook in the oven and at this altitude food didn’t turn out the best.
There was a large shed in the backyard which was ideal for us to keep our bikes in as well as a nice patio. We used to work on the bikes and to sit at the table and enjoy the outdoors.
I recommend this Home to anyone who wants a nice place to stay while on vacation!!!
Great house in central Leadville location
Stayed here during Leadville 100 Run Camp and it was charming and great all around. Although the house itself is old it's very updated inside. Would stay here again!
Beautiful interior in the perfect location to access everything downtown Leadville.
Like new, clean, cozy, quiet, and convenient
Our family of four stayed here as home base for a ski vacation and loved the convenient location to town and slopes. This adorable, lovingly restored home is just a block off the main street, so we were able to easily walk to shops and restaurants, and the grocery store is a quick drive, just under a mile away.
The house gets lots of natural light from all the windows, and the blinds function well at night for privacy and softening the early morning sun. The kitchen is stocked nicely, and since we didn't do any heavy duty cooking we got by just fine with the steak knives for our cutting/slicing needs.
We appreciated the reading lamp in the master bedroom, and night lights in all the rooms were helpful. One reviewer mentioned a hair dryer in the home, but we didn't find one. Fortunately, we brought our own.
The only down side for us was perhaps a subjective experience. We found all the beds and pillows to be way too soft and lacking support. Also, the polyester sheets and plastic mattress protectors under the mattress pads don't "breathe" and left us all (and we're slim, cool-natured folks) sweating through the nights despite keeping the heat set around 65. I tried sleeping on top of a towel, and one of our sons slept on the sofa to get more comfortable but it wasn't ideal.
Overall, this is a wonderful home for a great price. Thanks to the owners for making it available to renters.
Restaurant recommendations: City on a Hill Coffee and Golden Burro for breakfast, High Mountain Pies, Tennessee Pass Cafe, Treeline Kitchen, and Casa Sanchez for other meals.
Thank you for leaving feedback. The previous guest before you accidentally packed the hair dryer therefore it was missing for your stay. We have since replaced the missing hair dryer for all of our future guests. Please reach out to me for your next stay and I would love the opportunity to make it up to you!
