Apartment in heart of Samoens French Alps provides comfort and luxury, sleeps 8.

Within an exclusive Chalet-style development, Apartment Buqa offers a perfect blend of tradition with contemporary living. Stylish interior décor, a traditional wood-burning fire-place, the latest technology and accented lighting throughout give this self-catered apartment an air of comfort and luxury. A WiFi network, Wii-Fit games console, media system and LCD screens in each room and a supply of DVDs/games/books give you the opportunity to truly kick back and unwind after enjoying the outdoors.

The apartment has its own lockable garage with equipment storage facilities and ample outdoor parking space. The ground floor leads to an open plan contemporary fully equipped kitchen/diner, a stylish twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a separate WC. The first floor has a spacious living room with a traditional wood-burning fire-place, amazing alpine views and a large south-facing balcony. Also the master bedroom and jacuzzi bath occupy this floor. Mezzanine provides a chill out area.

The Buqa Family...

Elan

He is responsible for introducing family and friends to the charms and delights of this all-rounded alpine resort, and opened the rest of us to the extreme world of Snowboarding... (he will also, happily hang out with skiers!) Quoted as saying 'I want my ashes scattered at the foot of Mont Blanc' you begin to get a feel for what makes him buzz! Having spent many seasons in different resorts, Elan has been drawn back to this picturesque, understated charm that is Samoens and surrounding Giffre Valley. As a keen Mountain Biker, he is hoping to improve his fitness level and technique by venturing the single tracks of the Valley each Summer.

Piral

Still relatively novice to snowboarding, she fell into the lifestyle after marriage to Elan… and hasn’t looked back since. Armed with one bit of vital snow-knowledge (‘never eat yellow snow’), she has evolved into a fully-fledged snowboarder. Having just given birth to their beautiful children Nia and Yash, Elan and Piral are both very excited about the prospect of multi-lingual toddlers skiing in nappies! Fortunately, Samoens is the perfect place for the little ones to get started on the slopes and to enjoy family friendly fun...they can’t wait!

Akash

An uber-cool snowboarder: edge on board, music in ear and the chilled boarder fashion that only chilled boarders get away with, he took to the sport like duck to water. Obviously, all was achieved under the strict guidance on safety and technique from Elan, his big brother (who takes all the credit to this day!)

Shreeta

Who says chicks can’t board? Determined to be as cool as her brothers, Shree took up snowboarding a few years ago and loves the thrill of the sport, as well as enjoying the stunning views that the alps have to offer.

The mezzanine floor with lots of floor space for the little ones is our definition of the ultimate chill zone. Full media system, sofa, bean bags and stunning mountain views, as well as twin beds make this area a great hang out day and night.

We loved: the high tech: from kitchen to entertainment, this apartment lacks nothing - even includes a welcome jacuzzi bath and underfloor heating - not to mention the awesome wood burning fire place! We were impressed by the cleanliness and high level of maintenance.. not to mention the brilliant service and friendliness from both owner and caretaker.

'The apartment was spotlessly clean, well equipped and everything worked. The location is convenient for the village but quiet, with no passing traffic.

There is a log fire which is nice to sit round but there is no need to light it for heat as the underfloor heating is very effective.

We were two couples and a toddler and had plenty of room. Only slight critcisms would be storage if more people stayed, and the stairs to the second floor are steep.

We met the owner and the local contact person and both were very friendly and seemed to genuinely care that we had a good holiday'

Beautiful house in a stunning French town

We stayed at Buqa for a week over new year week It is a beautiful house and comfortably housed our 2 families, 4 adults and 4 kids It is very close to the charming traditional village of samoens and it is a five minute walk down the hill. There is a ski bus to take you to the slopes but we preferred to walk each day as it is not too far and stretches the legs before your ski.

Buqa has everything you need and we were very impressed with the boxee system where there was over 200 films we could watch on the tv. The log fire and cosy living area makes it hard for you to want to go out in the evening, but we did eat at le serac New Year's Eve which was really good and very reasonable. The kids also loved the ps3 den in the attic. There is a big field in front of Buqa and the kids spent hours playing snowballs and sledging there.

Samoens is beautiful and we were really lucky to get a load of snow and blue skies. A perfect week. The grand massif is a very picturesque ski area and is one if the best we have visited Elan the owner and Gilles the property manager in samoens were fantastic right from when we booked. They answered every question and really gave us a five star service. They booked our restaurants and offered us transport whenever we needed it. Thanks for a wonderful holiday

A wonderful apartment in a beautiful town

We have just got back from a week spent in the Buqa and had the most wonderful time! The apartment was just as described and very luxurious. Everything is provided that you could possibly want and the view from the balcony was superb. To wake up every morning and have coffee and breakfast on the balcony was such a treat! The town of Samoens is lovely, very quaint with lots of lovely shops and great bakeries! There is a range of activities to do in local area including swimming in Samoens pool, walking along crystal clear river, visits to waterfalls and drives to bigger towns such as Annecy and Geneva. A must is a visit to Les Lindarets where a herd of goats roam free in the village and it was a super place to visit. The views from up here are simply breath taking too! Overall, this was one of the best holidays we have had and we will definitely be returning to Buqa and Samoens for another relaxing and invigorating holiday!

WOW!

Having spend whole week at Apartment Buqa I have nothing more to say but “wow”.

Apartment is of the highest possible standard with all modern comforts like fully fitted kitchen , several bathrooms , massive TV in every bedroom and living room , satellite receiver, multimedia center with over 300 movies, Nintendo WII , under floor heating and fire place for romantic evening .

Apartment is literally 5 min walk from the village center , where you can find bars , bakeries and other shops. On that note , Buqa comes with very useful user guide regarding bars , restaurants and shops and I would strongly recommend to follow it .

Cable Car is very close to apartment , maybe 5 min by car , and compared to Chamonix , there are no those dreadful queues , and I think that ski pass is cheaper. Once at the top of the mountain there are restaurants , kinder garden , place where to rent ski equipment …again much better then Chamonix.

Ski pists are very nice and there is something for everybody , green , blue , red and off piste skiing .I would strongly recommend “Grand Tour” from Samoens to Flaine .It takes some two hours to complete but it is worth every minute of it .

Overall , great experience that I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend to the others .

Stunning apartment in beautiful village

This was a truly amazing location, with an air of peace and tranquillity in the beautiful village... a lovely place to go for walks, wonderful friendly locals, oh and the skiing on the slopes was only 5 minutes away from the apartment! Very handy indeed.

The apartment itself was very well equipped. 5 stars all round!

Amazing experience at Buqa!

Many thanks to the Rajas for introducing us to Samoens and Buqa! It’s the perfect location for those who like to keep active or just wishing to chill. Having spent the days climbing, white water rafting, canyoning, walking and cycling, we could return to Buqa and relax in style.

Whether you are a family looking for thrills, or a couple looking to escape for a few days, I would definitely recommend Buqa and Samoens for a summer holiday.

We loved it so much, we are returning to Ski in the winter.

Apartment Buqa is great for friends/family

……I stayed at Buqa in March 2009, with a group of friends. We had a great time in Samoens, which BTW is a lovely little French town (not your typical French ski – in, ski -out type of resort that's got no charm at all). This little town is really nice, and as the Samoens ski area is part of the “Le Grand Massif” ski domain the potential for great skiing/snowboarding is endless – both for the more experience skiers/snowboarders but then also for the less experienced ones.

The location of Buqa is great, overlooking the town and mountainside – it is such a treat to wake up in the morning and to look out of the window, and get ready for yet another day in the slopes. The facilities in Buqa are great, very modern and a great living room type of area to chill and listen to the endless amount of music available, and likewise watch films. I will be back next year for sure, and this time I will bring the whole family…..

Samoens is a summer and winter Mountains resort that makes a significant part of the Grand Massif. Regarded as a romantic resort Samoens has remained relatively undiscovered, unspoilt, cultured, charming and is a truly picturesque village. Sat at 800m, it is an ideal family holiday destination and a get-away for those who have a passion for the outdoors. Samoens is a far cry from a concrete jungle that often comes hand in hand with a typical all year round alpine resort. With its rustic, characteristic focal points dotted around Samoens, such as the Village Church, medieval water fountain in the square and The Botanical Garden at the heart, Samoens has kept ‘true to self’.
