EXPLORE THE HIGH COUNTRY

We invite you to join us in the beautiful Juniper Mountains of northwest Arizona. We are surrounded by working cattle ranches, pinion pines, close to ancient Native American ceremonial sites and Route 66. Experience nature and American history at The Cabin at Tumbling Rock Ranch. Also check out our fabulous reviews for our other home listed on VRBO 379349. This home is located on the same 80 acres, so the reviews will give you an idea of how special this property and area is. (Discover Tumbling Rock Ranch by visiting our website!)

Local activities include world-class hiking and visiting several nearby ancient Native American ceremonial sites with extensive walls of petroglyphs. The area is a rock hound’s delight and fossils abound.

Close to Seligman, the birthplace of Route 66, the climate is moderate, year round, with few exceptions. We are at 5800 feet elevation and though we get some beautiful snowfall a few times each season, it generally melts within a day or two.

Wildlife commonly seen include elk, deer, javalina, antelope, coyote, bobcat, and wild burros.

About Carolyn Besler

My husband and I have been savoring the beauty of the Juniper Mountains for the past 10 years. We built this cozy little cabin in 2011 and have decided to rent the cabin out after living in it very comfortably for the past year while we rented out our 3500 sq ft home located on the same 80 acre property. We have been renting (our large home) through VRBO (379349) for a year and have enjoyed a steady flow of guests from all over the country. We will still be living on the property but now have two lovely properties to offer for rent. Both homes are custom built and the setting is amazing. We have four children and seven grandchildren who live somewhat scattered along the west side of the continent. We also have our german shepherd, Kayla, border collie mix, Roxy, and papillon, Sam.

Why Carolyn Besler chose Arizona

It's a little piece of paradise. This property is peaceful and quiet and away from it all, but an easy drive to all the attractions.

What makes this cabin unique

You cannot beat the mountain views and year-round moderate climate, with an occasional snowfall. Always green. Always peaceful.

A Great place to get away!

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin was beautiful, cozy, comfortable. This beautiful little hideaway had modern amenities with secluded rustic charm. Beautiful views of the Arizona mountains awaited you each morning and the brilliance of the stars at night were simply breathtaking. Don (the owner/manager) was available and saved our bacon when the weather brought a storm which made a road impassable and stranded our vehicle he arrived with his 4X4 to shuttle us out and returned to help us recover our vehicle as the road dried out. This trip was restorative and the area is beautiful. The cabin just has a magical vibe. What a great location and a wonderful place. You will never meet nicer people or stay at a cleaner well kept place. We will be going back. Oh...the cabin does not have a laundry facility, not a downside...truly, just pack prepared.

Beautifully maintained retreat, away from it all!

  • 5 of 5

We were blown away by this perfect little cabin way off the beaten path. If you're looking to reconnect with nature and unplug from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the perfect place for you. My husband and I drove from Los Angeles and enjoyed two days at this charming cabin in the woods, and it wasn't enough time! We enjoyed a bonfire and were able to cook a lovely meal in the well-appointed kitchen. We also took a day trip to the Grand Canyon (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. Great for couples!

Amazing!!! Run don't walk to this place.

  • 5 of 5

I won't mince words. This cabin was awesome!!!! The landlords went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and took great care of us. My husband and I took the tour and learned so much of the land and ancient Indian tribes that inhabited the area. We spent four nights there and could have stayed more. Don't hesitate to book this cabin. You can't find a better place.

so enjoyable

  • 5 of 5

Totally loved the location. A little drive out to the middle of nowhere but so so worth it. The cabin has everything you could want and need. Very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the company of 2 kitties that were our walking guides around the property. Nice to have some animal companionship. The stars are amazing at night. And the fact that you can sit on the porch and not get eaten alive by mosquitos is a bonus. (Too dry for those suckers-THANK GOD!) Don was very much our host for the weekend. He did all we asked and more to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable including being our taxi due to the rain which turns the road into mud and makes it hard for anything other then 4 wheel drive. If we ever return to the state of Arizona we will def. book here again. I would strongly recommend this location for traveling up to the Grand Canyon or site seeing around RT 66. Perfect, Enjoyable, Quiet, Clean, Comfy....just a awesome experience.

Incredible beauty and serenity!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this cozy studio cabin for a week in March/April of 2016. We were so impressed by the owners welcome and willingness to answer questions throughout our stay. The property was beautiful, clean and convenient. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife in the area.... saw something different every day! The location of this property was awesome. It seemed to be central to so many places we wanted to visit. Lake Havasu was a two hour drive where we rented a dune buggy and tore it up in 70 degree weather. The next day we were getting snowed on in the mountains of Flagstaff. Sedona was another day... only a short drive and so worth it. The grand finale, of course, was the Grand Canyon. How awesome was that?!?! We never felt like we drove too much after visiting any these amazing destinations. Thank you so much Don and Carolyn. We had a blast!

Wonderful, delightful, stunning

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from our vacation in Arizona. My husband, daughter and I loved staying at this little cabin. The property was so beautiful and secluded, it was a great place to relax and unwind. The cabin was generously appointed and we were able to cook, grill, hike and just be together, away from it all.

During our stay we took a day trip thru Williams and the Grand Canyon National Park, both very conveniently located to the ranch. We also went on a Petroglyph tour with the ranch owner Don that actually became a highlight of our trip. It gave us such an appreciation for the history and beauty of the area. We loved being immersed in the landscape, it was amazing!
