Photos and Description of this holiday cabin in Arizona

Comfortable, 400 square foot cabin with lush mountain views.

A COZY RETREAT-an easy scenic drive 50 minutes west of Williams!!

Enjoy our comfortable, 400 square foot cabin with studio style bedroom, full bath, full kitchen and walk-in closet. Revel in the rustic charm of warm oak flooring and custom wood walls throughout. Gaze at lush mountain views of pinion pine and shaggy cedar through several large, panoramic windows. Access the fresh country air via 6-foot garden doors leading to a covered, finished deck.

With fantastic hiking and spectacular mountaintop views, guests can choose to be physically challenged or just relax and recharge. Favorite evening activities include unwinding around the outdoor fire pit, roasting marshmallows while stargazing, storytelling, and toasting the day’s events.

Ideal for romantic getaways.

We invite you to join us in the beautiful Juniper Mountains of northwest Arizona. We are surrounded by working cattle ranches, pinion pines, close to ancient Native American ceremonial sites and Route 66. Experience nature and American history at The Cabin at Tumbling Rock Ranch. Also check out our fabulous reviews for our other home listed on VRBO 379349. This home is located on the same 80 acres, so the reviews will give you an idea of how special this property and area is. (Discover Tumbling Rock Ranch by visiting our website!)

Local activities include world-class hiking and visiting several nearby ancient Native American ceremonial sites with extensive walls of petroglyphs. The area is a rock hound’s delight and fossils abound.

Close to Seligman, the birthplace of Route 66, the climate is moderate, year round, with few exceptions. We are at 5800 feet elevation and though we get some beautiful snowfall a few times each season, it generally melts within a day or two.

Wildlife commonly seen include elk, deer, javalina, antelope, coyote, bobcat, and wild burros.

About Carolyn Besler

My husband and I have been savoring the beauty of the Juniper Mountains for the past 10 years. We built this cozy little cabin in 2011 and have decided to rent the cabin out after living in it very comfortably for the past year while we rented out our 3500 sq ft home located on the same 80 acre property. We have been renting (our large home) through VRBO (379349) for a year and have enjoyed a steady flow of guests from all over the country. We will still be living on the property but now have two lovely properties to offer for rent. Both homes are custom built and the setting is amazing. We have four children and seven grandchildren who live somewhat scattered along the west side of the continent. We also have our german shepherd, Kayla, border collie mix, Roxy, and papillon, Sam.

Why Carolyn Besler chose Arizona

It's a little piece of paradise. This property is peaceful and quiet and away from it all, but an easy drive to all the attractions.

What makes this cabin unique

You cannot beat the mountain views and year-round moderate climate, with an occasional snowfall. Always green. Always peaceful.

Vacation cabin to see the Grand Canyon and visit an arid area to experience a new climate for us.

My wife and I enjoyed the get away at the cabin. The cabin met all our needs and more. The stars at night are spectacular and the quiet rest was much needed. We would recommend this to our friends and family if they get to this area. The cabin is well maintained and clean. It has all the modern conveniences you need. The highlight for me was the guided tour with Don. The tour took about 4-5 hours and I got to see Indian petroglyphs which were just amazing. I would highly recommend the tour with Don. You will see and experience nature and some relics of Indian civilization past for a reasonable fee. In all the experience was great, the interaction with our host were good and we got to relax and learn and experience new things.

rustic charm is the perfect name!

  • 5 of 5

My two boys (16 & 11) and I stayed here while on holiday to visit the Grand Canyon. It is a quaint little cabin tucked away on a ranch. While we did stop for provisions before arriving, I found it to be a decently stocked cabin. The views are vast and the stars at night are amazing! Very hospitable owners who are very friendly and accommodating. A little bit of wildlife viewing kept the boys entertained. It is an off-grid kinda place so if you need to be entertained bring DVD's (albeit they have several great ones!) The drive to the Grand Canyon was a wee bit longer than I thought but worth it. Due to the remote location it is best not to map it and to just follow the hosts directions as they are spot-on! A great get-a-way for the three of us!

Relaxing & Fun Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place was everything we had hoped for. It is a quiet little cabin perfect for two--very quiet and peaceful there. The scenery is fantastic, and the wildlife is very prevalent. We heard an elk bugle one morning and often saw antelope. As animal lovers, the cats who lived under our porch were welcome pals who loved to sit with us and accompany us on walks around the property.

Don and Carolyn were very kind and extremely accomodating. They went out of their way to make sure we could enjoy our vacation to the fullest. Don would, on the rainy days (El Niño), drive us up and down the mountain in his truck so that we weren't stranded or at risk of getting the car stuck on the unpaved road. We were given some great tips as to what to do and when would be best to do it, only adding to the experience.

On our last full day there we took advantage of Don's private tour. He was very knowledgeable about the land and petroglyphs. The tour is also hosted in areas not available to the public, so it's a very unique experience.

This place is a must if you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It was perfect for the two of us and we would highly recommend Don and Carolyn's cabin.

Quiet, relaxing and cozy

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful cabin and the perfect size for us. There is very limited cell service. No TV, but movies supplied. This is what we wanted. Woke up every morning to a beautiful sunrise. The cabin has lots of windows facing the east. No windows on the west side, so this keeps the cabin nice a cool. The owners were close enough if we needed them, but also gave us our privacy. This was very important to us. We used the fire pit the last night. That was nice and wished we used it more. Very clean and very well kept. An hour drive to the Grand Canyon and Williams AZ. Would highly recommend this cabin.

A Great place to get away!

  • 5 of 5

The Cabin was beautiful, cozy, comfortable. This beautiful little hideaway had modern amenities with secluded rustic charm. Beautiful views of the Arizona mountains awaited you each morning and the brilliance of the stars at night were simply breathtaking. Don (the owner/manager) was available and saved our bacon when the weather brought a storm which made a road impassable and stranded our vehicle he arrived with his 4X4 to shuttle us out and returned to help us recover our vehicle as the road dried out. This trip was restorative and the area is beautiful. The cabin just has a magical vibe. What a great location and a wonderful place. You will never meet nicer people or stay at a cleaner well kept place. We will be going back. Oh...the cabin does not have a laundry facility, not a downside...truly, just pack prepared.
