1 Bedroom Ocean and Beach Front Cabin
About Patricia Wade
Meet the owners - brothers John and Scott Wade. The Wades own the property along with their sister, Julie Busenius. Pictured here is John with his sons (from left to right) Nicholas, Christopher and Tyler, Scott's daughter Alison, Scott and the Wade family dogs. All of us were born, raised and still live on beautiful Vancouver Island.
Patricia Wade purchased this Cabin in 1959
Why Patricia Wade chose Courtenay
Murtle Pilgrim, from Victoria BC, purchased the beach front lot to be closer to her family in Comox. In fact, Murtle's father, James Carthew, was once the mayor of Cumberland. The cabin was built in 1960 and back then it was simply one room with no bathroom, no kitchen and no running water. The cabin has been a part of the family ever since. It is the families summer beach getaway - and when you get here you will understand why they love it so much! The view is absolutely stunning!
What makes this Cabin unique
Our cabin is private and fully winterized. Ideal for 2 people with a fully equipped kitchen. The hide-a-bed is great for an additional 2 people. There is plenty of room on the property to pitch a tent for the kids and the beautiful sandy beach is ideal for children. There is endless nature around you - plenty of eagles and herons soaring past and otters, seals and sealions that regularly swim by. Very quiet and tranquil location with the convenience of shopping and recreation just a few minutes away by car.

Super clean, and really well set up. We loved staying here.
It was ok if you stayed up island. We traveled down island and it was a bit of a trek for us. But overall lovely. Thanks :)
Fantastic Cabin by the Sea
Fantastic cabin by the sea, just what we needed. Home from home, everything you needed was there. We are hoping to visit again soon.
Relax by the Sea
Our two week stay was a perfect get away. The cabin was well equipped with all you would need . The view from the deck was ever changing with the tide ever impressive. We loved it and will book again. Don & Linda
Yes, the view is breathtaking and never boring. There is always something to see across the sea to the mountains. So glad you had a relaxing time!
Warm regards, Patricia and John

Thank you for being our guest. We are glad you ended up with a little bit of sunshine too!
Weekend get away
Had a lovely piece full time....quiet and loved waking to the seals (barking!) Lovely to have a cottage fully stocked with supplies and was clean!
See you soon!

Thank you for your kind review! The beach is such a lovely place to be. We are glad you enjoyed yourself.
Pleasant cabin on the beach
We enjoyed our stay in Pilgrim's Seaside Cabin. It's very pleasant - not fancy but very clean and well-equipped, with all we needed for a few days retreat with our little dog. It's literally just feet from the beach, where we enjoyed walking and our dog had fun running around. A very quiet place, at least in November, and within a few minutes drive of conveniences in "downtown" Comox and just a bit further to Courtenay. The owners are definitely focused on having the cabin well-prepared for guests, with good communication, organization and cleanliness. We recommend it!
Thank you so much for your lovely review! Yes, it is definitely a real little beach house and it is always neat to see the nature in front of our doors. I am glad you had peace and quiet and a pleasant stay!!
The Comox Valley boasts some of the finest ocean beaches such as Kye Bay and Airforce Beach. The ideal place for beachcombing - when the tide is out, you can discover the fabulous intertidal marine life - starfish, moon shells, sea cucumbers and crab are plentiful.
Fishing is a popular past time here! Fresh local seafood can be bought right off the pier in Comox or try the very popular Portuguese Joe's Fish Market - a long tradition in the Comox Valley.
The Comox Military Air Base is right beside the Comox Valley Airport and has a wonderful museum for those rainy days. The base also hosts the Comox Air Show every second year - a definite must see!
Some of BC's best skiing is at Mount Washington Alpine Resort, only 40 minutes from the cabin. This resort boasts one of the most spectacular coastal alpine settings in North America with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop on one side and scenic Strathcona Park bordering the other.
Rich with culture, the Comox Valley has many excellent art and music festivals including the Filberg Festival and the Vancouver Island Musicfest. And make sure to visit the local wineries as well as the local farmers market while you are here!
