THE PROPERTY

Master Bedroom: King Bed | Bedroom 2: Queen Bed | Bedroom 3: Queen Bed | Loft: Single Roll-Away and Queen Sleeper Sofa

From the moment you step inside, you'll know this spectacular vacation rental home is going to be one of the best vacation spots you've ever visited. A cozy kitchen greets you with white cabinets and plenty of space to whip up a first-day-at-the-lake meal, while the open sitting room beckons you to come put up your feet by the fireplace while you enjoy the stunning views out of the enormous picture windows. The living room includes a DVD player and cable TV for evening entertainment, and with comfy easy chairs and couches everywhere, you'll forget all your cares - but there's lots more to see in this pretty cottage.

Just 20 feet away from the house is the water's edge and the beginning of the dock, which provides a 5-foot depth at the end to jump into the water for a dip. Bring your own paddle boat, canoe or use the kayak provided to you. If more boats are needed, head over to the marina to rent one for your stay! The gradual, sloping, sandy bottom is ideal for small craft, and this cottage is located on a dead-end road, which means you'll have few other watercrafts nearby and almost no car traffic, making for an idyllic retreat.

Tired out from your water sports? Relax on the wrap-around patio, which gives you multiple places to sit with a glass of wine or a lazy dinner while looking out over Caroga Lake. The shaded patio lets you enjoy the outdoors in comfort, while the multiple seating areas allow for a family board game in one corner while a few friends enjoy conversation in another. Getting a little nippy as the night draws to a close? Sit by the fireplace outside or step inside to the indoor conservatory for a triple aspect view and still more seating space for the fun and games to continue.

Finally ready to turn in for a good night's sleep? You'll find 3 bedrooms in the cottage. The 2 on the ground floor offer comfortable queen-sized beds and a shared full bathroom, while the upstairs provides a king-sized bedroom with a half-bath of its own. Additionally, there's a loft that's equipped with a single-sized roll away and queen-sized sleeper sofa. Turn in for the night and slip off into a blissful sleep as you dream of the adventures your next vacation day holds.

THE LOCATION

If you can pull yourself away from the lake, you'll find that you aren't far from many popular locations in New York. Albany, Saratoga, Cooperstown (home of the Baseball Hall of Fame) or Utica are all within an hour of West Caroga Lake.

Head out for a day of sight-seeing and shopping and be back before dinner time. Or, savor a delicious dinner out at one of the many fine restaurants in the neighboring cities.

Peaceful, lovely, great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This house is super comfortable and the owners could not be more accommodating! (Thank you Chris and Tina!)

First of all, I have stayed in many vacation rentals and hotels in our family travels - none as comfortable as this one. It is a clean, dry, cozy home with spectacular views of the lake. My favorite place to sit, whether with coffee, a book, a glass of wine, or dinner - was the covered porch overlooking the lake. The beds were really comfortable - we all slept well! The kitchen is fully outfitted and we put the outdoor grill to plenty of use as well.

Secondly, we had loads of fun. Jumping off the end of the dock, taking the kayaks out, floating around in tubes, hiking the nearby trails, getting great chicken wings at The 19th Hole, or ice cream from The Perfect Scoop ... this filled our whole week. We had intentions of doing some day trips to Cooperstown, Great Escape, Lake George - but we just ended staying in the area and having a wonderful time!

We were told by various people that we were situated in a great part of the lake. It is a quiet little cove with deep water just a little ways out. Many pontooners would anchor in this cove to jump in the water. We saw some jet skiers and water skiers but it was not a nuisance at all. Our favorite moments were the loon calls at dusk and the quiet STARRY nights!! And I was always up early to see the lake a dawn - beautiful!

Needless to say, I recommend the place, It was perfect for my family of 5. Our 3 kids - ages 13, 12, and 7 - loved it.

Picture perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Loon Song Cottage! The house had everything we needed for our stay with our 4 young children. The cottage was clean and tastefully decorated, the view was absolutely spectacular and the owners were absolutely lovely and a pleasure to deal with! We especially enjoyed coffee on the covered porch, grilling dinner and eating on the picnic table followed with S’mores over by the fire pit! We saw shooting stars and heard the loons sing at night. My husband had a great round at Nick Stoner and the kids loved hiking the nine lake trail. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat, this place delivers! Looking forward to coming again next year!

Very nice cabin on a lovely lake

  • 4 of 5

A special thank you to our kind and attentive hosts staying in the house next door! We loved getting up early in the morning to kayak on the lake before any other boats or jet skis were out. And it was a very nice lake to swim in after going hiking -- some very nice hikes within a 25-45 minute drive along almost-deserted roads despite it being the high summer season. Cooperstown about an hour away and we loved that day trip as well. Spent most of our time in the house on the porch overlooking the lake. And the one bed we slept was, as others have noted, very comfortable. Thank you to Chris and Tina!

Peaceful Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was an ideal get-a-way. Beautiful, quiet, with the prettiest views of the water. We are looking forward to returning. The cabin interior was charming and updated with a quaint Adirondack feel. The location is convenient to the Great Escape, Saratoga Racetrack and Blue Mountain Lake. The lake view is spectacular, and the lake is not too crowded. What sets this rental apart from other vacation homes we have rented in this area is the beds are heavenly. Too often these place should come with a chiropractor.
