Good location easy to get to places
House was not cleaned when we got there. Had to find cleaning lady ! Took her most of our first day for her to clean up. She did good but should of been done.
Says it sleeps 7 which we needed but only slept 6. Had a bad smell coming out of cleaning supply closet.
Was a nice foot tho. Outside pool areas were always clean. Lots of wind on that side which made water rough. But still nice
Needs more and upgraded appliances.
Location is great, unit needs some TLC
The location is great. The condo building is right next to kukulcan plaza so close to grocery store, buses, taxi, etc. The unit is ground floor so walk out and unobstructed views to ocean and one of the pools right next door. This is not a noisy complex and the pool closes at 8 pm. The condo is VERY basic in what is provided. The condo does not have a working deadbolt on the front door, the patio door on the upstairs bedroom does not lock, there is no hotel safe - the security around the building was excellent but you don’t know that when you arrive. The cookware is a bit minimal and mismatched. The oven does not work and all burners on the gas stove top won’t light with the spark. A working potato peeler, handmixer, and blender would have helped. There is no colander or salad spinner. If you plan to cook, as we did, with 4 teenagers, it was a bit of a juggling act. The fridge will freeze items left in the back. Again all things that could be adjusted. There is a damp/funky smell to the place and all the cupboards that is mentioned in another review. This is pervasive. The Oceanside windows are very dirty, I’m sure from the wind and salt spray. For arriving guests, more paper towels (one roll was not enough) toilet paper and a few bottles of water would go a long way to help settle in. Extra pillows and sheets/blankets would help on the beds as would a few lightweight blankets for the faux leather sofa. If you are looking for a very basic unit this place is fine- it’s not luxurious and the price needs to reflect that.
The vast majority of people that stay in our unit are extremely pleased with the location and find it very satisfying and come back year after year The appliances they said are missing are indeed there and all parts of the stove work. Most everyone enjoys it and wants to come back. We are always a phone call away and do respond to all guestions and concerns.
The location is excellent-right on the beach-but the cleanliness and upkeep of the suite lacks.
We loved the nearness to the ocean sights and sounds. The general areas around the facility were in average condition. The facility was in close proximity to a grocery store and other Hotel Zone amenities with the benefit of public transportation. For our tastes, the beds were quite hard with older pillows and bedding. There was a significant mould smell in the unit emanating from the cabinets and a musty smell coming from a closet and the dryer vent (an odor that was absorbed in the linens). A number of areas in the kitchen were covered with a coating of dust and grime (fridge, ceiling fans, window sills, range hood). Some of the latest layer of paint and plaster on the walls had chipped off at various locations in the suite and was laying here and there on the floors. Windows were streaked with a salty grime. Attempts made by the onsite caretaker to wash them further smeared the surfaces. After contacting the owners, they tried their best to address the issues by getting the onsite caretaker to do some additional cleaning but this had a minimal effect at rectifying the issues. General issues of the caretaker having/maintaining cleaning standards, noticing the cleaning requirements, lacking cleaning techniques, and choosing proper cleaning products continue to plague this rental. We should not have had to report these items to the owners after our arrival. Had all these issues (including rust on many of the metal surfaces) not have been in play, this unit would have been fairly priced. We made the best of the situation but felt that we significantly overpaid. No offer to reduce the fees were given. Some facility amenities which are out of the owners' control were not what we would have expected (beach VB court with extremely low net, very damaged surface on the tennis court, one security person that was quite punitive and lacking tourist interaction skills). I would not recommend this unit at the stated price.
