2 bedroom barn converted cottage in peaceful Cumbrian village

This cottage is a recent conversion of a sandstone barn to high quality holiday accommodation with the emphasis on retaining the character features. The cottage is 'inverted' with the living space, kitchen and dining area on the first floor to give you the benefit of the stunning views over the Lake District hills and the North Pennines.

The cottage has an en-suite master bedroom with king size iron beds and feature beams throughout. The second bedroom can either be twin bedded or linked to form a super king size bed. This room has the use of a separate bathroom.

Lovely cottage in fantastic settings

  • 5 of 5

I can't recommend this cottage enough. Kerry and Rob were lovely and very helpful. I stayed there with my family when attending a local event. The cottage is very well appointed and clean. It has been restored to a very high and modern standard. The kitchen has a good range of utensils. We all found the beds comfy and the showers excellent! We had a very restful time and enjoyed exploring the local area! We would all stay again! A lovely home away from home for the start of our holiday.

Beautiful cottage with outstanding views!

  • 5 of 5

Have just returned from this delightful, peaceful cottage with my elderly mother, husband and dog! The accommodation is excellent and the development has been very tastefully done to a high standard. The cottage is very well equipped and has the most gorgeous views of the countryside. The owners are on site and were most pleasant and helpful without being obtrusive. Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and am definitely looking forward to our next trip! Thanks Kerry for all your help.

Fantastc Barn conversion in idyllic surroundings

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the New Year 2010/2011, we had such a great break and the accomodation had a huge part to play, The conversion has been carried out to a very high standard, The Beds are also extremely comfortable. We had the use of the loft (Bedroom) which had fantastic exsposed beams, and a very nice ensuite bathroom with an exceptionaly large shower. Central heating throughout the Barn ensures its never cold although I found the barn to be reasonably warm for the time of year, maybe because the walls are half a metre thick. The log burner was a great touch and throws out a fair bit of heat. A car is a must as the nearest shop is roughly 2 miles away. Although Morrisons, Lidl can be found in Penrith as well as all the major high street stores and fast foods. The barn is a 10 min walk to Blencarn lake, which is privately owned I believe and offers half and full day fishing permits. Their is ample cutlery in the barn as well as iron and hairdryer etc. Kerry and her husband also hire out classic (open top)cars which are stored in one of their barns. I would not hesitate in recommending this rental to anyone who wants to explore the lakes and Lake District area, (nb. The rental we used was not suitable for anybody who finds a flight of stairs difficult)
