Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Lelant - The Beach House

2 bedroom beachhouse, sleeps 4, in stunning location. Private outside garden.

The Beach House is a perfect haven for those looking to escape the hectic pace of everyday life. A place where you can wake up and look straight onto St. Ives Bay and Godrevy lighthouse. Watch the ebb and flow of the tide, whilst having your morning tea or coffee. Step out of the door and walk on the dunes or beach comb in St. Ives Bay. There is a private garden and patio where you can eat outside whilst watching the sunset over the bay. Alternatively, there is a daybed sofa in the living area with TV and DVD player. Unlimited high speed wifi. Lelant, the birthplace of Rosamunde Pilcher, is conveniently located near to St. Ives, but remains a peaceful and relaxed village even in the height of summer. The Eden Project is within easy distance to visit for the day, as are many of Cornwall's tourist destinations. A great location, especially of interest to golfers, walkers, painters, ornithologists, kayakers, windsurfers and anglers.

New fully equipped kitchen including cooker, hob, extractor, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher, toaster and kettle. Well stocked with cookware and tableware. Solid oak work surfaces, ceramic sink positioned under a window with views over St Ives Bay. Open plan living area with double daybed sofa and two person Knowles settee. Free view TV and DVD player. Large selection of films and documentaries available on request.

Unlimited high speed infinity wifi connection.

Dining area with table and four chairs positioned by two windows with sea views

Fresh towels, bathrobes and bedlinen are provided. The property is thoroughly cleaned after each guest vacates. For stays of more than one week, all sheets and towels will be changed and the accommodation will be vacuumed.

High chairs and travel cot are available on request. The Beach House is suitable for children.

The Beach House is a truly stunning location for painters to experience the special 'light' of St.Ives Bay. The location inspired John Miller to paint world famous seascape and images of the views.

May to Aug is a good time for Anglers to fish for bass from the Beach. Kayakers and gig rowers are seen daily on the estuary. Hayle Towans on the opposite side of the estuary is a popular surfing, kite-surfing and wind surfing beach. The Hayle estuary is the most southerly estuary in the UK and the last stopping spot on mainland UK for migrating birds. It is therefore a RSPB reserve. Walkers can step out the door and walk the Hayle to St Ives section of the South West Coastal Route.

The famous local author Rosamunde Pilcher has recently described the walk to the house as her favourite walk:

"My favourite walk is at Lelant, down the road past the church onto the golf course. You see the bay and the colours, and it's never the same - it's just perfect."

A cosy place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views afforded. Also a great location as a base for walking the coast and exploring the region. We leave with happy memories of our holiday and of Cornwall.

stunning views X beautiful walks X able to be just you.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the beach house Lelant . It was absolutely perfect, waking up to beautiful views, out of bed onto the beach for a beautiful morning walk before breakfast . Beautiful hikes along the cliff top to Carbis Bay or St Ives . Everyday just walking along unspoilt beaches , glimpsing the seals as you waked along, watching the changing tides as they came into the estuary. If you wanted to go further a field there were local buses and a quaint train line that you can hop on to take you up and down the coast . But for me I was just happy being me taking in the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounded me all week, we even had a first class storm one night to just watch X amazing. The beach house had everything you needed to be cosy warm and happy. If you are looking for a get away from it all break then look no further than this X Paul and Linda X ps I have never seen such happy dogs running around on Lelant Beach 😀😀 ❤️

Couldn't Ask For A Better Location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for a week in August 16 and just loved it. Before we arrived the instructions on how to get there, where to park and what to do all arrived in Giod time and made perfect sense so we had no trouble settling in.

The house is well equipped with good wifi and the welcome pack left for us made a good touch. The house was very clean and well presented, and while the furniture selection was a bit random it was all comfortable and fit for purpose.

Having a place so close to the beach (literally on the beach) was great for me and the children and we spent our whole week enjoying the space on offer. The secluded garden and BBQ were well used for outdoor dining and we made the most of being so close to the beach to picnic on the steps and watch the world go by in between sand fort construction.

The beaches in the area are spectacular but the only downside of the whole week was the scar irresponsible dog owners left in their wake, despite their being plenty of provisions made for them.

We loved our time at the house, the admin of booking was made very easy and it's a lovely part of the world to relax and unwind, so overall I'd highly recommend it.

Beautiful cottage on an idyllic Cornish beach

  • 5 of 5

6 of us spent a happy, relaxing and extremely comfortable week in the Beach House, and we couldn't have asked for more. The house was spotless, beds comfortable with fresh cotton bedlinen and there was lots of hot water for baths and showers - a must after a busy day of golfing, walking along the cliffs, exploring Cornwall or even doing absolutely nothing except admiring the views over the beach and the sea. Perfect! The kitchen is very well equipped and we arrived to find essential supplies ready for us, and contact numbers on the black board in case we had any queries. Nicola and Myles brought us delicious local champagne to try plus freshly baked saffron bread and biscuits. What spoiling! We parked either by the church and walked down across the golf course which was perfectly simple, or on the quay which meant a 5 minute approx. walk over the beach to the house. Thank you, Nicola, for emailing us the parking permits as this meant that our cars were safely identified. Thank you too for recommending great restaurants to us, we ate some wonderful local food so have returned home somewhat heavier than when we set out. It was a marvellous holiday and we would recommend the Beach House to future guests. We hope to visit again, soon.

Owner's Response: Wonderful! We very much appreciate knowing that our guests have had a great holiday and stay at our houses as we try hard to ensure guests get the best out of staying with us and also from what is on offer locally. We do understand that holidays are very important times both for much needed rest and relaxation but also because time is precious in most peoples very hectic and busy day to day lives. We therefore endeavour to make the stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Thank you for posting a great review and for taking the time to let us know our efforts have been appreciated. Do return again soon! Sorry but to avoid any confusion may I just point out that this guest stayed in the Beach Bungalow (property 444012) which is a 4 bedroom house rather than the Beach House which is a two bedroom house and sleeps 5 at a maximum.

Great stay year after year

  • 5 of 5

Arriving at the Beach House is always a joy. We were welcomed with local produce and a welcome message from the owners. The place couldn't not be any closer to the beach. We have been lucky with fantasic wether each time we have stayed and also the beach isn't sign posted, so you almost get the miles of sand to yourself. See you again in October.

I Want To Live Here!!

  • 4 of 5

The Beach House at Lelant is extraordinary. Okay it is a certainly bijou, you might even go so far as saying it is small on the inside. It does havt though everything you need for a hoilday, good kitchen, comfy beds, an amazing view! Perhaps a more comfy sofa might have been nice. It was beuatifully clean and when the TV broke down it was replaced in hours. It also, amazingly, has superfast broadband, which was great for loads of things.

However who needs an inside when you need only take a very few steps and be on the beach, then wander round the corner to a huge expanse of sand, often empty, that seems to go on for miles.

People often say that the light around St Ives Bay is special, the light is amazing!! The water is azure and surprisingly calm. Myself, wife and our 12 year old twins enjoyed swimming in safe, supervised by lifeguard, waters, with fish jumping only jards away from us an the gentle breakers.

I shouldn't really be writing this, because I want to book up for next summer, so I want to make sure there is space. I'd also love to find the time to visit in spring and autumn too.

I'd live to say that I couldn't fault the experience, but there will always be a couple of things that some people will want. So if you do want to park your car outside your house, need street lamps to walk in the dark, require a cafe on the beach, a shop within walking distance, then this house is not for you!!!

In reality it is a 5 minute walk to your car; a 10-15mins to the pub, 25mins to a great deli and cafe. 20 mins to the train station for a day trip into St Ives. Some people may not want to do this walking business, fine go somewhere else and let those that do book the house instead.

Thank you for a delightful visit, we will be back.

Beach House Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Such a lovely, well looked after little house and everything you need for a welcome retreat from city life... well appointed kitchen, WiFi, efficient shower, comfortable, and of course the views are stunning. Lots of fantastic bracing fresh sea air outside in January - but the house was as warm as toast!

We did this trip without a car and it worked fine as the local taxis covered trips from/to the station/shops (Nicola keeps a couple of helpful trolleys at the house to transport groceries down the path from the Church). For the local train to St Ives we walked to Lelant Saltings (about 20 minutes) 10 mins on the train, and lots of places to potter round in St Ives - Barbara Hepworth's House is a must-see.

I would advise arriving in daylight if possible when coming to the Beach House for the first time - the path down from the Church has irregular steps as you get close to the beach, so need to watch where you're going, particularly with luggage.

St Ives Bay has superb beaches with glittering clear sea and clear air. The Beach House is situated on one of St Ives Bay's beaches. Great for surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking and fishing.

The area has great artistic traditions dating back to the 1800s when accomplished painters revelled in the clear accurate light and luminous colours. An artistic legacy exhibited in the Tate Gallery. The Beach House, the former studio of John Miller, who captured the beauty of the location in his Beach paintings.

Add to all this a range of excellent restaurants and cafes, traditional pubs and St. Ives becomes even more of a holiday delight.

The Eden Project and other world famous Cornish gardens such as Heligan and Glendurgan are all in driving distance.

The Beach House is situated next to the West Cornwall Golf Course and on the South West Coastal Walking Route and the Hayle Estaury Bird Reserve.

Lelant was the birth place and childhood home of Rosamunde Pilcher author of the Shell Seekers

The famous local author Rosamunde Pilcher has recently described the walk to the house as her favourite walk:

"My favourite walk is at Lelant, down the road past the church onto the golf course. You see the bay and the colours, and it's never the same - it's just perfect."

Golf: Meters from the scenic 18 hole West Cornwall Golf Course.
