Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Tavira - Tavira house

Peaceful and Safe Location - 2 Min Walk to the Riverside and Roman Bridge

House (traditional architecture) in Tavira city, located in an Historic and Authentic Neighbourhood - 2 Min Walk to the Riverside and Roman Bridge (peaceful and safe location), with a beautiful terrace and view over the city and historical centre. The house architecture respects the traditional construction techniques that distinguish the main features of the urban structure, for instance: the four water roofs (it is a unique building method in the region, used only in this city, which contributes to a unique style in city architecture). The reixa doors (a technique that dates back to the 12th century, when the moors lived in the Algarve)- the decoration style respects the local artisans' works and materials.

Great apartment in Tavira.

  • 3 of 5

What a wonderful position in Tavira. Could watch the boats going up and down the river all day. Comfortable apartment but I did find the mattress too hard. Had difficulty finding the door when we arrived. More detail of entry to apartment would be helpful. Steep stairs up to the apartment if anyone has mobility problems, but we had a wonderful week and the owners were very helpful and would return. Everything was spotlessly clean and welcoming.

This was our 4th visit to Tavira in the last two years which speaks volumes for the town.

This house is perfect spotlessly clean in a great peaceful but central location and very well equipped throughout

The balcony is in full sun from 11am to 8pm and the house is ideal for both couples or families of 4 book it you wont be sorry

Best place in town

  • 5 of 5

Paula and her husband are great hosts, really wonderful people. They are very helpful and accommodating, and have made our trip very special. The photos of the house do not do it justice. The house is more spacious than it looks, very comfortable, cozy, clean, well looked after and with a great location. The kitchen is very well equipped. The location is very quiet at night, some passing traffic during the day. The fireplace warms up the house during the colder months. The roof top has great views of the town. And most of all, Tavira is just a magical place.

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

Three of us recently stayed here and what a lovely time we had. The house was very nicely decorated, modern but with a traditional feel. It is located in the old part of town and is only a five minute walk to the main square. There are plenty of restaurants and shops locally. It was spotlessly clean and the owner Paula was really friendly and helpful. The photos dont really do the house justice, it is a bit of a Tardis, far bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside! The roof terrace was good with views over Tavira to the castle and river. Every major convenience was at hand including a washing machine, fridge , freezer toaster , microwave and oven. There is a largish supermarket about 5 mins walk away, but we ate out every night. There are plenty of restaurants but if you want a taste of something typically Taviran, go to the bottom of the street , turn right and about 50 yds away is a small place called 'Retiro de Tavira ' and just order what is fresh that day. The food is excellent and a bargain price and typically Portuguese. we had a lovely holiday and would love to go back again. I always describe Tavira as a town that has tourists , rather than a tourist town like the resort to the West of faro.

Feels like Home

  • 5 of 5

Very well equiped, nice and calm spot. Paula is thinking about a WiFi, so you can do your internet things at home in the future.

We enjoyed the roofterrace so much: all day sun!

The townhouse feels so much as being home, so we will come back certainly!
