The vineyard was planted in 1999, and we sell grapes to Virginia wineries. Once I retired from teaching, we decided to expand our business to include a cabin on the property.

This place deserves more than 5 stars. The cabin itself is perfect. It is clean, well stocked and has everything you need to relax and unwind. The property is stunning. You are surrounded by mountains and a beautiful vineyard. Our dogs enjoyed themselves even more than we did!

The property owner’s were incredibly gracious and welcoming. This place had it all. We certainly see ourselves coming back one day.

If you want to relax, unwind and disconnect, this is the place!

  • 5 of 5

The property is exactly as you see in the pictures - clean, open, full of amenities, quiet, etc. We had a wonderful weekend (3 nights) here for our 20th anniversary. We used this as a launchpad to hike McAfee Knob and to bike the Roanoke Greenway (including Mill Mountain). The cabin is new and is perfect for a couple looking to get away. We appreciated all the amenities including the grill, patio, patio awning, TV & Blu-Ray/DVD player, kitchen, etc. Note that the cabin has an on-demand hot water heater, so it may take a few seconds longer for hot water to come out of the tap. Each day we saw wildlife around the property (mostly squirrels and deer). We will definitely go back.

Phyllis met us as we arrived and gave us lots of info. about the area. She also left us a spaghetti dinner and cereal for breakfast. She and Melissa definitely went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay.

One of the best VRBO's ever

  • 5 of 5

We seriously couldnt ask for anything more in a VRBO property. Everything you read in the other reviews praising the owners was true for our stay as well- clean, peaceful and tastefully furnished. I wish we had more time to just hang out at the property for the day and relax because it was a lovely setting. We found no problem with cable reception & were able to catch 2 shows we typically watch- one on each night (if this is important to you as a renter). The owners go above and beyond any that we have had before by providing that first day's breakfast items & a last minute dinner option to cook in at the cabin........not only helpful, but very thoughtful. The cabin's decor is so well thought out that it should remain in wonderful condition for years to come. We can't thank the owners enough for allowing our dog to stay here & treating him like a member of the family. He slept the best here because he felt comfortable and safe. There are just too many small details to name that have been taken care of for a roll of paper towels, napkins, a box of tissues, some toiletries, small kitchen items that are useful.......we didn't use most of them, but the thought that they were there was just another sign of how caring these owners are. You only have one job when you come here & that is to relax and enjoy your time away. Thank you Melissa and Phyllis!

Perfect Quiet Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This is THE spot to rest and relax. The property is beautiful and secluded. Close to Roanoke (30 minutes) but still far enough away to feel like you're in nature. We spent our first afternoon walking the paths of the vineyard with our dogs and a glass of wine. The cabin is extremely clean and instantly felt like our home away from home, especially with all the extra touches from Melissa and Phyllis. We look forward to more visits!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us, AND for sending that amazing picture of you folks on top of McAfee's Knob! So glad the weather was perfect for a mountain hike and a stroll through the vineyard. Look forward to seeing you again!

This property is great for pet owners. Huge open space for running, playing and sunning. The house is perfect for a couple. Full kitchen with a lovely patio and grill. If you mountain bike this place is ideal. You are 17 to 50 min from a multitude of trails. It's near wineries and breweries and plenty of hiking trails. It's private, quiet and on a beautiful piece of property with wonderful views. There's grocery stores about 20min away. There's absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. We will definitely be going back. Also, Melissa and Phyllis are lovely and had ingredients for breakfast including some wonderful fresh eggs. The kitchen had anything you could need for cooking including a Crock-Pot.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words, but mostly appreciate your being such wonderful guests. We thoroughly enjoyed your company, and appreciate your educating us about our own area! We had no idea that there was such a wealth of mountain biking nearby… and we will be sure to ask your advice should other guests wish to do some biking. Also appreciate the care that you took of the cabin. After six nights and three dogs, we could hardly even tell that you were there. We were sad when you all had to leave, and hope that you will be back soon.
