About dr David Toby
i'm an orthopaedic surgeon resident in Trinidad but a true caribbean person. Barbados means a lot to us as we have lots of family so we invested in this lovely property in Holetown near the sea well appointed and close to resturants,shopping ,golf and a nice buzz in general.

property is 3 bedroomed all en suite quite large, all appliances and fully loaded.There is also a smalll pool attached to verandah but a larger one available to all residents on the compound.It is 20 mins away from Bridgetown the capital and aprox 40 mins away from the airport. There are 4 beaches away walking distance and aprox 8 mins drive away.There are tennis courts on the compound of this gated community

Property was nice, clean and in a quiet and safe neighborhood.

Great Townhouse for families! Close to beaches and restaurants.
First let me start by saying that Rachel is AMAZING!!!! She answered all the questions I had prior to our trip, referred us to a local car rental gentleman by the name of Lloyd (who then arranged transportation to and from the villa) and recommended great places to visit once we arrived. The house is quite spacious, (we were a group of 5) and the pool in the backyard is quite lovely on those afternoons you decide to stay home. We were truly surprised at how close to the beaches and restaurants we were, took us only minutes. We would definitely recommend renting a car as it will give you the opportunity to see the country on your own time. Please be aware that electricity is an additional cost to the house; we did not use bottom AC at all, only the fans. But we did use the ones in 2 bedrooms upstairs twice a day, once during nap time and every night, for 7 days and 8 nights and paid $66 USD upon existing rental. The beds are comfortable. The only drawback is the configuration of the rooms; the full bed should have been closer to the king room, that way the toddler would have been closer to his parents and the queen bed should have been on other end of house (closer to stairs) for privacy for another couple. Nothing major as we managed. House comes with all dinnerware, glasses and utensils, bring your own spices and coffee. There is a supermarket close by, Massy, but note it is VERY expensive. We would recommend driving a little to Jordans as it is more economical, but still quite pricey.
Overall, this was our home away from home for a week and would recommend it to anyone. Could not have chosen a better home!
P.S. the birds chants at night are vely lovely, so are the stars in the sky.

Good location beach about 10 minute walk . Lovely complex used the swimming pool a few times which was great, nice having a splash pool. House in need of a bit of TLC and ensuits a bit of a deep clean. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Beautiful condo with a pool and an amazing host
We stayed for 2 weeks at Porter's Gate and it was absolutely amazing! Rachel is the perfect host! We came to Barbados with our 9 month old and Rachel had a portable playpen set up for us when we got there. She also went above and beyond by getting us a beach umbrella to protect our little one from the sun. Rachel helped us book a catamaran excursion as well which was a trip highlight! The condo provided everything you would need for a perfect stay, from private ensuite bathrooms, a private pool, and a large deck to relax on. The best beach you can find is down by the Colony Club which is about a 15 minute walk and you can eat on the resort for a decent price. The bus stations are easily accessible from the condo which made travel around the island fairly easy and interesting.
If we ever come back, we will definitely make a point of coming back to stay here.
Ideal location, lovely and quiet so you can relax however only a few minutes drive from Holetown, would recommend car hire to get out and about. Great to be able to have the small private pool in the back garden as well as the larger shared pool at the front of the property. Most days we had the shared pool all to ourselves. Good home from home with all facilities you would need.
Rachel and Fernanda met us on arrival and they were both lovely and helpful. Answered any questions we had and were easy to contact if we needed them.
Been to Barbados many times before, had a really great holiday here and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
Great value and location
We really enjoyed our stay at Porter's Gate. It's off the beaten path and a great place to sit back and relax. Rachel the villa manager is amazing! She met us at the villa on day 1, stopped by one day 2 to make sure everything was ok and even book an amazing catamaran excursion for us. The villa is beginning to look a little worn, but is still a great value for the area and what you get.
One week's rental period as 6 nights.a 20% deposit is required to book the property with the remaining balance due 8 weeks prior to departure. A 150 pound security deposit is required which will be returned after your holiday less breakages/damages.PLEASE NOTE THAT RENTAL DOES NOT INCLUDE CHARGES FOR ELECTRICITY,METER WILL BE READ ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE AND CHARGE APPLIED.ON AVERAGE THIS IS APOX 60-80 POUNDS PER WEEK DEPENDING ON USE
