Such a gem!

  • 5 of 5

I definately reccomend this place if you are looking for a cozy house with an amazing view. Cleve is very responsive and easy to communicate. All rooms have great views. Very specious place, great for having a nice dinner with your group, jakuzzi even has a tv in it (although we didnt try to open it). 15 min drive to downtown. We would be back!

We had a blast at this cool throwback lodge retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Our host Cleve was amazing, he reached out to me our check in night because we were running late and it was snowing heavily in the pass, I appreciated that. Upon arrival at 1am the jacuzzi was hot and the house was warm. My teenage son and his friends had a GET OUT movie moment when we walked in as the large moose head and fox bust stared down at us. It was a fun throwback vibe that really felt like you were in a hunting lodge in the Montana -- it was very cool! What I love most was the price, $300 a night for four bedrooms, three baths, two car garage, pool table, jacuzzi, multiple flat screens, surround sound, blazing fireplace and a spectacular view! I loved how the kitchen opened up to the living room, so we could socialize and whip up a good meal. Also, the deposit was only $200. Great prices for peak season! Other places of this caliber were easily $400 a night with a 1k deposit. This place is rustic and comfortable and was perfect for our party of 9. I almost forgot, the location is about a 3-5 min drive north of the casinos, on the Nevada side, AND there is no noise restrictions i.e. "you can't use the jacuzzi after 10pm." What kinda mess is that????? Late night jacuzzi plunge and a cocktail is the whole reason we're in the mountains! Lastly, I never spoke to Cleve, only via email, he was like OZ, but the couple times I needed something a helper magically appeared and resolved our request. In closing, we had a blast! If you like this vibe, you'll like this spot. PS Cleve, you should have someone look at the upper left burner on the stove, it seems to only have two temperatures, HOT and OFF. (:

Very Outdated appliances and plumbing. Multiple light bulbs broken. Cobwebs everywhere.

  • 1 of 5

The most disappointing rental experience ever! My friends and I have been coming to Tahoe for years and we have never had such a hassle before! The house was under construction and we had to chase off workers at 7:45 am the first morning! The home owner was completely rude and unwilling to rectify their false advertising. There was dirty laundry in the laundry room, food left in the fridge, cobwebs, and many other unappealing factors to the home. Sun blazing in the rooms by 6:30 in the morning, and no A/C units to keep the house cool. Very stuffy.

The information in the paper told us there would be trash bins in the garage. There were only one recycle bin located outside the garage already filled from the construction workers, and no actual garbage can in site. The instructions read to NOT have any garbage bags outside, due to local bears and animals, so I left the garbage big in the house. The owner YELLED at my fiance for leaving it in the house and told us WE were to blame for the broken lights and trash. Even though we called the agency and the owner the first morning we were there to let him know about the imperfections of the place and how the construction workers woke us up.

Do not waste your money and risk your vacation! There are far better properties and rental agencies in the area! Would NOT rent from these owners again. Homeaway tries their best to favor their guests, but can only do so much. It is unfortunate the owner did not feel to understand what was going on and how to properly run a vacation rental.

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, Kayla is not telling the whole story. When she called about the workers showing up, she was informed there was a misunderstanding and the workers were due at a different rental property location. For the record, the workers did not attempt to enter the rental home. They were outside. Kayla and her guests left the property filthy, left food rotting on the barbecue and all the bbq utensils outside. The garbage bags are to be left in the garage and were left leaking all over the kitchen floor. A lamp was broken during their stay. We apologize if any light bulbs were out, we will make sure to check that in the future. A walk through is done with the cleaning crew and no cobwebs were ever found. The listing does not say the property has AC. Homes in Tahoe do not need AC, most open the windows for the fresh air. I am unaware of dirty laundry in the laundry room, our cleaning crew only washes sheets and towels. I will address that with them immediately.

The cabin was awesome! Rustic, clean, big and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Had a great stay this past weekend! Cabin was great and very comfortable, in a great location. 15 dollar cab to the casinos, close to the lake, with great views. Owner was great and let us stay a couple hours late after checkout to miss some of the traffic on a Sunday. Thanks again and will defiantly recommend this place to anyone staying in south lake.
