This newly remodeled, decorated and furnished home is ideal if you looking for a relaxing get away and lots of privacy. A lake front view and large beautiful trees provide lots of shade and breezes giving you a sense of serenity like no other. The cottage has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, a combination kitchen and living area with full length windows and fireplace. Also enjoy a screened porch with a ceiling fan, outdoor porches, and an outdoor shower (hot/cold water) for a refreshing cool down after a day on the lake. On a rainy day the sound of the rain falling on the tin roof provides the perfect setting for an afternoon nap.
The nice level yard provides a great place to pitch a tent, have lunch on the picnic table, play outdoor games and is a short walk to the water's edge for fishing from the boat dock or canoeing. (There are canoes available on the property.) Located in famous '2 foot cove', you still have a view of the channel to watch the boats and barge travel up and down the river. Whether you rent a boat from a near by marina, bring your own boat or just enjoy the wildlife while relaxing, your stay will be unforgettable.
*Several Marinas close-by with excellent restaurants and rentals
*Short drive to Downtown Nashville
*Grocery Store and shopping within 6 miles
I am proud to say that I am a native Nashvillian. I have spent my life living in Tennessee and a University of Tennessee alumni.
I love the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and especially boating, are my favorite past time activities, and I am a huge Nashville Predator's fan.
Whether you live in Tennessee or just come to visit, I highly recommend you experience Old Hickory Lake, a treasure found right outside my back door.
Sandy Holt purchased this cottage in 1996
I purchased this property initially as a personal vacation home and have since purchased another home four doors down the street for my permanent residence. The property is very private and yet I can be in downtown Nashville in 20 - 25 minutes.
The cottage was a perfect spot for me and my two sons to get away, fish, enjoy the boat and spend time together. We certainly have shared some treasured moments and built fond memories while staying in our lake home. I am excited to share this special place with others to create your own wonderful memories.
We rented this Cottage because it had its own boat slip big enough for our boat. It was a great trip and perfect place for us to stay. Beautiful back yard which overlooked and lead down to the lake. Was also located in the "2 foot cove" which was nice. The back porch was my favorite with the Rocking Chairs! Owner was very accommodating and quick responding to any questions. Would highly recommend and we will be back.
This home is one of our favorite places we have ever stayed. We are gone from home over 300 nights per year and have stayed all over the U.S. For us to find a home that provided privacy, comfort and gorgeous lake-front views was a true blessing. The home is cozy and was a perfect haven for my husband and I to relax. We stayed in the winter (Nov./Dec.) and when the weather was nice and even on cold, sunny days, we spent a lot of time on the porch, in the yard and hanging out on the dock. The roads in the area are great for walking. It is a very safe, peaceful area. I cannot imagine a more perfect location to stay on Old Hickory Lake during the summer months. Everything you could possibly need is 15-30 minutes away; Opry Mills and The Hermitage are just a bit further. Sandy was the perfect host; conscientious about attending to our every need, and always quick to respond to any communication. We will definitely return!
We stayed in Sandy's cottage for several weeks while our new home, 3 miles way, was being remodeled. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to begin our new life as residents of the Nashville area. As others have mentioned, the cottage is clean, comfortable and very relaxing. We were able to dock our boat at the slip out back for the length of our stay and enjoy the lake on a daily basis. My husband caught some very nice bass while fishing off the dock. We enjoyed many nights cooking on the grill and afternoons reading on the screened in porch, while getting to know the sights and sounds of Nashville. The cottage was a peaceful sanctuary at the end of long days at the "construction zone". Sandy is close by if you need him, but totally respects his guests privacy. I would highly recommend the cottage to anyone....I can't wait to have overflow friends and family stay there while in town for visits. Thank you Sandy for working with us on our time frame and for more than accommodating our needs while staying in your lovely cottage.

My husband and I and another couple stayed at Sandy's cottage on the lake while visiting Nashville for our first time. So glad I found this place. It is just what you see in the pictures and better. Very clean ( I am a bit of a freak about this) felt very comfortable here.
We spent most of our time in Nashville it was nice to come back to "our home" on the lake to relax! Enjoyed beginning my day and ending my day sitting on the screened room facing the lake. Nice quiet neighborhood! So much better than a hotel and for the same price! We would come back here for sure!
Sandy was so great to work with! And the drive into Nashville not bad at all!
What a great getaway! Not too far from the city but still nice and quiet. Really loved the lake view and all the amenities. We'll be back again for sure
What a wonderful cottage on Old Hickory Lake. From the moment we arrived, it was inviting. The hummingbirds were a joy to watch as were the cardinals and various other birds. The cottage was clean, the property well maintained, and well equipped with all the amenities. Sandy was thoughtful and available to offer us information on the area and things to do. The description of the cottage was accurate and it was the perfect size for my husband and I. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee, reading, and meals. Nashville was a short drive and the train going into the city was close by...very convenient if you want to see the city on Friday and not worry about parking or driving back. It's about a fifteen minute drive through the countryside to several stores and restaurants. But if you're there to relax, this cottage is the place...it's quiet and all the neighbors are friendly. The lake offers miles of shoreline to explore by canoe or kayak, and the sunsets are a show every night. It's the place to make memories. Bring your camera! I highly recommend this property.
