Our family has rented many homes on the island. This view was by far the best!
Awesome house with great views and big living spaces. Only down side was 1 golf cart. Needs 2 carts for families
Great place for an extended stay with a large family
First thing's first. We had to have a Friday-Friday rental and the owners were very accommodating -- not so many other places were willing to do that. We had 9 people here at one point during the week and it was not crowded at all. The layout makes a lot of sense. The showers are quite impressive. Contrary to what the rental company flat-out told us, this place is VERY well stocked. They had a high chair, pack n play crib, plenty of linens, beach games, beach chairs, BIKES, cooking utensils, fishing gear, you name it.
We were concerned the location would be odd since it's close to where the ships come into the harbor. That ended up being really cool. Our private beach was also a plus since hardly anyone was there and our little ones (ages 4 and 1) had perfect sized waves and surf to play in. It was a quiet place and just the size for us. It's also very close to the two restaurants, rental places, and activities at the harbor. It came with access to both island clubs which was great for going to the pool.
The wifi is painfully slow. Not a big deal if you're looking to get away from the real world, but if you have actual stuff to do, this is not the house you want to connect to. We rebooted it, and still have no idea how it's possible to have an internet connection that slow. They really shouldn't even say they have it.
The grill took some getting used to. It's a beast that really only works at full blast or else it shuts off. Don't get me wrong, I cooked some of the best meals I've ever had on it. Just a little finicky to lite and maintain. Once I figured it out though, it was fine.
The morning sun smacks two of the rooms and the room upstairs has weak shades so make sure whoever is up there is a morning person. AC-wise though this place kept excellent temperature.
The ice maker in the fridge works about once a day. We had someone look at it and they fixed it temporarily and then it stopped again. I'm sure they would have been right back here had we called again, but we eventually caved and just got ice at the market for our drinks. The maintenance and management group were very receptive and made us feel that had anything been seriously wrong, they would have corrected it.
Otherwise, this place was a great place for our family vacation. We would come back again.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Twin Peaks is a beautiful home in a perfect location. We hope you will return to the island soon.
