for our family of four this was a great property. The property (a self-contained apartment with its own pool) was well equipped and very clean. The owners, David and his wife Jane, live nearby and were excellent hosts. We experienced no problems with deposits as one guest has commented. The property is near a popular local beach and is about a 15 minute walk into the centre of town. Local buses pass at the end of the road to take you into Valetta. A great family holiday, especially out of peak season when rent is lower.
Everything was perfect. The owners are very responsible, they gave us what they promise and even more! The property is cleean and well equiped. I would absolutly recommended to my friends! If possible I'll be there next year again.
Had a great time in a clean, tidy and well appointed apartment in Marsaskala, Malta. The location was very suitable to our needs travelling with a young family. The swimming pool was a bonus in the hot weather. Thanks would come again.
The villa is a very good size and accommodated 8 adults and a child nicely with a good size pool, however, we would not stay here again as we found the villa grubby and poorly maintained, this is some of our feedback
• the bedding was dirty when we arrived and one bed had short black hair (looked like pet hair) under the pillow and duvet. The bedding was changed when we informed Jane, but shows that the bedding hadn't been changed between guest stays
• The sofas are very old and the leather is tearing
• one of the bathrooms had faeces in the toilet when we arrived (not a nice smell to arrive to)
• the kitchen table was sticky when we arrived and we had to clean all the table and all the kitchen counters
• there are not enough pots and pans and plates to cook with, for the number of people the villa accommodates. In addition, the pots and pans were dirty or so old the non stick was peeling away. Jane did replace the frying pan, but someone should have picked up on the condition of the pans.
• the games room is more of a gimmick. There is a pool table in there, but the room is so narrow you can't play properly as the pool cue hits the walls.
• the pool is surrounded by close and high walls which blocks all sun except between 1-4pm which sadly means the water is always very cold
• while we were not expecting to find any food, it would have been good service to have left a bottle of water (knowing the water isn't drinkable) or a couple extra toilet rolls.
We were not impressed with customer service and there was no apology for the dirty villa or bedding when we reported it after a couple days (just got told off for not reporting earlier!).
Malta is lovely, but the stay at the villa and the service received put a bit of a downer on the holiday. Would not recommend staying here at all. I think the villa could have nice potential if it was updated and cleaned properly.
The only reason I'm even giving one star is because it was big enough for our extended family to stay, but you can be sure we'll never stay there again. So many unexpected nasty surprises.
Let's start with the games room. It was unusable. Overpowering smell of mold and chlorine. Wasn't even part of the house, had to go down very slippery, wet stairs to get there - very dangerous.
Not informed that had to pay for wifi, stay fee, water, air-conditioning and electricity. It was ridiculous. And what was even MORE ridiculous was the number of signs EVERYWHERE telling us what not to do. "Signs, signs, everywhere are signs, blocking up my scenery, breaking my mind, do this, don't do that, can't you read the signs".
And everything was as cheap as possible, and we even had to buy our own toilet paper. Not cool for the high price we paid to stay there.
I would never, in my wildest nightmares, recommend this place. Don't ever stay here.
From here you can easily visit the whole island and also make a nice walk along the sea to the centre of the town. Close to the airport, local shops and bus stop and in a quiet neigbourhood. We had space enough with our group of 8, slept all nights very well and loved to eat outside. The mailcontact with David and Jane was very pleasant and helpful.
We all had a great time at the villa. Everything was as described on the site and the villa is really close to the local shop and bus stop. It's a lovely walk into the middle of town. The outdoor space was really lovely and good for sitting around in.
A popular family resort, Marsascala is a traditional fishing village with a picturesque coastline of rocky coves and a small sandy beach at St.Thomas Bay. Located in Marsascala just few metres away from the beach, on the outskirts of a town often referred to the fishing village. Quiet and peaceful, yet just five minutes drive to all amenities, you will be in close proximity to rocky and sandy beaches in St Thomas Bay, shops, markets, restaurants, internet cafes, gym, churches, wine bars, the St Thomas Fortress and the spectacular seafront scenery and beautifully-lit promenade.
This pretty resort has some fantastic places to explore including the harbour promenade and is a great place for hiking and cycling. There is plenty on offer here for sports enthusiasts including an 18-hole golf course at the Royal Malta Golf Club in Marsa. This same club also offers miniature golf, swimming, tennis and squash. The beach at St Thomas Bay is just a ten minute walk away and is suitable for sunbathing and swimming, while wind surfing is also very popular here.. Various other watersports can be tried in Malta including sailing, water skiing, paragliding, wake boarding, jet biking and kayaking. Marsaskala has numerous interesting old buildings well worth visiting including the Parish Church of St Anne. The Mamo Tower is on the road to Zejtun and a fine example of a fortified farmhouse built in a shape of the cross of St Andrew. The whole family can enjoy a theme park here featuring an animal park and children’s play area.
A trip to the Maltese capital city Valetta is well worthwhile as there are many historic buildings, palaces, churches, museums and galleries here. Visitors may also like to take a trip to the fishing village St Julian’s Bay on the main island, where there is lots of nightlife and entertainment. Victoria is the main town on the island of Gozo and offers many interesting places to visit as well as good shops and restaurants.
