About George

I'am a 5th generation San Francisco native who has renovated and restored this classic SF Victorian Home to it's original glory. Pictures do not do justice it was built in 1875 and is one of the first homes in the Marina/Cow Hollow district. Come and enjoy it's the best!

George purchased this house in 2012

Why George chose San Francisco

I really love this home. It's just a great combination of San Francisco History, built in 1875, with the San Francisco of today. The photo is from the Marina which is a short walk from Scott Street. All that come here enjoy the location and history that this property has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Location, safety, views, great restaurants nightlife and shopping. Reviews by travelers confirm all of this.

Great location, great backyard, great owner

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful place to stay. The neighborhood and proximity to downtown are great. It has a wonderful backyard to sit in and enjoy. And George is as helpful and responsive as he could be. For the sake of full disclosure, and hopefully to be helpful to George, I must however add that the old bedroom drapes , dining room table and some of the other furnishings make the place feel a bit "tired". And bath soap should be provided. Overall, however, it is terrific and you'll not find a better person to work with than George.

Everything was fantastic. The cooktop needs some attention; only two burners worked properly.

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for our family stay following our son's wedding in Big Sur. The location was best for the activities we had planned; Giants game, trip to the zoo, tour of Alcatraz, day at Muir Woods and beach and many of the local restaurants. Plenty of room and the parking space in front was a big help. Home was beautifully furnished and kitchen was well equipped. Thanks George for all your help. No question in that we would use this listing again.

Wonderful stay in SF

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in SF at this Cow Hollow home. It is very spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The style of the home is classic - old world. The location is fantastic. I was there with my three kids. We all had tons of room. There are two queens, a king and double bed - I believe. Blocks from Chestnut Street and Union Street - you have shopping and restaurants. You are about a 20 minute walk from Fisherman's Warf and the Alcatrez Depot. Super easy to get around SF also. Palace of Fine Arts is a 10 minute walk. Really you have it all at this location. The home was very clean and offered lots of kitchen supplies as well. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

The Perfect San Francisco Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 adults and 2 children had a wonderful time at George's beautiful San Francisco home. We said several times that the photos did not do this graceful house justice. With its high ceilings and large rooms, both upstairs and downstairs, there was ample space for everyone. The best part during our late March stay was the beautiful, secluded back garden. A real surprise in the urban landscape. The other most appreciated aspect was the central location. We walked everywhere, from Fisherman's Wharf, by way of Lombard Street and the Buena Vista, and back through Fort Mason to the lovely shops and restaurants of Pacific Heights. The kitchen was well stocked and there was an excellent food market (and coffee house next door) close by. We had 2 cars, and were always able to park one in front, while leaving the other at a nearby garage. George was accessible and prompt with all communications. We can't wait to return in another season!

Lovely place for a group!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 stayed at this lovely VRBO for 3 days in March. We each had a sizeable bedroom, and there were lots of places for us to gather together. The living room was large enough for our group to sit and visit, and the dining room easily accommodated us all. Unfortunately the weather was too cool to sit outside, but the small garden looked like a great place to enjoy a drink. We had a wonderful time, and I would recommend this rental.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

Place was awesome. Location was great. Restaurants and bars near there and bus lines next to it. 4 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath, had outdoor area. Only two small complaints was we had 3 couples and the shower hot water would run out quick, they need to spend 1500$ on a new larger or tankless water heater for the 3M$ rental house. And last thing parking in front of house is very small spot and we had large cargo van. But other than that pretty awesome. Not worth deducting stars. George was nice too.

Owner's Response: Thank you, for the nice review! Regarding your complaints, the hot water heater was replaced with a top quality unit only six months ago. Perhaps it need's some adjustment. Appreciate your feedback. In San Francisco, parking is a premium & fortunately, we can provide parking for our guest @ no additional charge. Occasionally, Larger Vehicles, like a 8 passenger van, can find it difficult to park in the space. However, any standard Suv or Car never have a difficult time parking parallel. Also, you do not need a car unless your planning on trips outside the city. Glad you enjoyed your stay please come again. Thank you, George Nicoud
