Well equipped apartment with full sea views from balcony and master bedroom. Fully fitted kitchen on security patrolled site. 2 Outdoor pools, indoor heated pool. Gym, sauna, jacuzzi beauty salon and children's club in season. Situated between Marbella & Fuengirola on bus route. Bars and restaurants on site and many more within 10 minutes walk. An ideal base to visit many attractions on the Costa del Sol. Airport transfers can be arranged if required. We can also supply welcome packs with essensial groceries if you are arriving late. Local trips are available from reception. Try a visit to Gibraltar, An historic island where you can get your duty free drinks and tobacco at very cheap prices. Dont exceed your limit as you will face the extra duty plus a fine. There is a water park at Fuegirola about 10 minutes on the bus, an ideal attraction for children and adults alilke or Tivoli world theme park at Benalmadena, a 15 minute taxi ride away. You can do as little or as much as you want. Wi Fi is available in the apartment if required, please state.

About Allan Harwood

We purchased this property with the intention of retiring to Spain, we still hope to do this but as family commitments have changed this has been delayed. we had numerous request to rent the property for holidays so we decided to do this as an empty property is more likely to deteriorate than an occupied one. This has worked well as it is regularly used and aired and the management company keep us informed of any work to be done to keep it in good condition.

we also own timeshare on Dona Lola site, we had been there many times when we saw this apartment for sale, as we love the area so much we saw it as a great chance for our retirement plans and purchased it with this in mind. If my apartment is booked please contact me as I can book apartments through Macdonald Hotels with my time share.

What makes this apartment unique

The resort is family orientated and welcomes children, with this in mind we have tried to make the apartment as child friendly as possible. on the negative side there are no lifts in the apartment blocks and this apartment is on the 4th floor. we have tried to compensate by supplying a travel cot, high chair and also 2 pushchairs to avoid the hassle at the airport. The small bedroom is decorated to appeal to children and the kitchen has been designed with safety in mind by building the oven in at a height they hopefully cant reach. The balcony is fitted with glass curtains and footholds covered to avoid climbing over the balcony wall. It is difficult to cater for every situation so it is still important to assess risks yourself and keep them to a minimum. any further suggestions would be appreciated in your feedback.

Lovely appartment with sea views . Set within a catchment of small convenience stores and popular restaurants serving excellent fare. I would return to this property but would hope for a heated swimming pool if visiting off season.

Amazing doña Lola

We have been going to Dõna Lola for 9 years and still love the place as much as we did the first year.We have been very lucky to have the help from apartment owner Allan Harwood who have helped us over the last few years to find a suitable apartment.Not only did he find us exactly what we needed but also at an amazing prize.We usually go half term so expect everything to be a lot more expensive but Allan has found us apartments at a brilliant price.We are already planning next years trip and have already emailed Allan to ask for his help.Would not ask anyone else.All apartments are very clean, spacious and had got everything you need and also within walking distance to everything.So if you ever need to book an apartment at Mcdonald Dõna Lola, Allan hardwood is the man to ask 😃

Wonderful apartment

Just returned from a wonderful week in this beautiful apartment. The apartment is very modern, spacious , well equipped and well maintained . Location is perfect . Having stayed at the Dona Lola Resort many times before we are very familiar with the area and always have a great time. We travelled with three teenage girls who thoroughly enjoyed the freedom this apartment and resort offered.We would definitely recommend this apartment and look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely spacious apartment with every facilty

Our family( 2 adults and 2 teenagers) had a lovely holiday in the apartment in Dona Lola. The apartment has been recently renovated so kitchen, furniture etc are all new. There is plenty of space with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Dona Lola is a nice friendly development, staff were lovely and there is a bar and two restaurants on site as well as at least another 6-8 restaurants at the entrance so there is plenty of choice to eat out. The pools and the grounds are very well maintained and we really liked the fact that the people who get up early to put towels down on sunbeds had them removed by the staff after 30 mins! It meant there was never a problem getting a bed. The spa/beauty therapy rooms were great as was the gym. Allan was very professional to deal with and we were very happy with our holiday experience.

Lovely apartment with every thing you will need for your stay. Can not fault the apartment, roomy, well equipped.

Down side,it wasn't mentioned in the ad that this apartment is up 3 flights of stairs. Imagine my horror when we arrived with a 10 month old baby in a pushchair. !!!!! . Also some of the distances are bit optimistic. Cabopino will take at least 30 mins to walk to (if you walk quickly). Beach from apartment is more like 100 mts not 10 and involves lots more steps !!!.Family pool is also appx 100 mts away and involves more steps.. Everywhere you go on site involves steps..We found the resort very isolated. Need a bus or taxi (expensive) to get anywhere. few restaurants and shops nearby but thats it.

Calahonda is an urbanisation which was originally founded by an Englishman and remains very English. It is like a home from home for most Britains visiting Spain. However you dont have to travel far to get a taste of real Spain. A short trip to the white village of Mijas which is available at reception will give you a taste of how they were built in the mountains with narrow streets to keep the sun out of the windows. Or try a visit to Marbella old town and enjoy a meal and drink in orange square. There is a nudist beach at Cabapino if you want to get back to nature. This can be reached on the bus, about 10 minutes journey but you can walk along the beach in about 15 minutes. There are 3 other sister resorts which you can visit and use the facilities. Leila Playa is within walking distance along the beach or road towards Marbella, La Ermita at Mijas village and Villacana at Estapona. There are numerous bars and restaurants within walking distance & a well stocked mini market on site

Other Activities: If you are prepared to travel a bit you can visit the Siera Nevada ski resort.

Golf: Golf and the Costa Del Sol are like peaches and cream, you cant have one without the other. Macdonald hotels have a dedicated golfing representative who can organise anything you require in the golf department. Just ask at reception, you will find them friendly and helpful on most activities in the area and they speak excellent English plus some other languages.

Ski: The Sierra Nevada mountains are famed for skiing. there are organised trips in the area, enquire at reception or call in at Cariba Sol. Cariba Sol also organise fishing trips and other activities, they also manage the apartment so you can report any problems in the apartment and they will carry out any necessary action or repairs.

  • hot water is supplied via solar heating with an instant hot water boiler as a backup in case the solar heating is not up to temperature. there is a simple lever to change from solar to gas. this is in the kitchen, in the wall cupboard to the left of the window.The water can reach boiling point so please be careful not to scald yourself. REMEMBER THE METAL TAP CAN GET YERY HOT AND REMAIN HOT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES.

Notes:
The gardens are communal, the balcony has tables and chairs if you wish to dine Al fresco. The resort runs organized trips to various locations and there is entertainment 2 or 3 night a week depending on season. There is a commercial community next to the site with a mini market, various bars and restaurants including Chinese & Italian cuisine. there is often entertainment on this site. you can walk over the footbridge outside the resort for many more bars, restaurants night clubs and supermarkets. The main road outside the resort is a bus route where buses run app every 15 minutes to Marbella, Fuegirola and other places along the coast. There is a reception on site where they speak various languages including English and will give information on the local facilities. The apartment has been fully refurbished and refitted to a very high standard. the kitchen boasts all modern appliances including combi microwave and american fridge freezer with filtered cold water and ice maker.
