About Debbie Mooney

Born and bred in Oregon, I have traveled the world and brought back its flavors to season the atmosphere of the gorgeous dream home that I have spent 2 years designing and building. I currently live and play in my homes in Bend and in Bali for part of each year. As I continue my international travels, I hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to experience all that is my home, Daughter Water Estate.

Debbie Mooney purchased this estate in 2011

Why Debbie Mooney chose Bend

Bend, located in Central Oregon, hosts multiple diverse summer and winter outdoor amenities and activities are of which are easily accessible by walking, biking or driving from our close in-town riverfront setting. I fell in love with Bend in 1972 and in 2001 realized my dream of retiring here.

What makes this estate unique

A luxury experience for those who seek only the very best.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We came to celebrate great friends and great times and serendipilously found a great house in a great town. We were overwhelmed with this homes beauty, the community's lively spirit and the awe inspiring nature. We leave a week later richer people from our experience, both individual, and shared. Hope to return, but in the meantime, we hope others who follow share the same spirit of camarderie we felt we found here.

Amazing house with great property management! It's a short walk to restaurants even in the winter.

  • 5 of 5

The house is very professionally maintained, it's nice, unique, and close to both sides of town with the foot bridge over the river near the house. The property manager was amazing, had everything organized and the check in / check out process was very simple and brief.

Excellent house and perfect location

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the house and we plan to come back the same time every year. The house is big, is well appointed, has an incredible setting on the river with multiple decks and river views, and the location can't be beaten for convenience -- halfway between old mill and downtown, right on the pedestrian bridge at Columbia Park with easy access to everything. A nice touch is the fleet of cruiser bikes that will get you easily to Goodlife, 10 Barrel, Crux or any of the other top breweries in town. Also an easy pedal away from the Cog Wild shuttle, so the house is an ideal base for mountain biking -- start at Cog Wild and ride all the way from mt bachelor back to the house.

My only modest quibble is that the bed configuration isn't great for bigger groups -- rather than small doubles it would be better to have twin/king combo beds in the rooms that can be split for larger groups, or pull out sofa types. But rest assured there is plenty of room in this big house to stretch out.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for visiting Daughter Water Estate again. We sincerely appreciate your patronage and your excellent reviews of our beautiful retreat on the river. Just to clarify the accommodations, we have 4 Bedrooms. Our bed configuration is: 1King bed en suite, 1 Queen bed en suite, 1 Queen bed, and 1 Double bed. In addition we have 3 or 4 excellent quality inflatable Queen beds that can used in the Yoga room, out side on the covered outside deck and down stairs in the covered Gazebo. We look forward to your return trip next year!

We absolutely LOVED it!!!

  • 5 of 5

The property was gorgeous, beyond what we were expecting. The listing description was pretty right on. It was clean and seemed to be well maintained. Debbie was great and fortunately there was no need to really contact her while we were there. I would definitely stay here again. Great location to town, water sports, etc. I would highly recommend this to friends and family. Superb!

BEST house on the river

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful house is located right on the river in downtown Bend, OR. I can not say anything negative about this home. Huge house next to a nice park and within walking distance to local restaurants/bars. Every detail inside the home is amazing. The bikes, kayaks, and hot tub were the biggest hits. The living room has one of the biggest fireplaces you will ever see. Large kitchen with a dinning room table for 10. Four big bedrooms and plenty of other couches for guest to sleep on. This was a short vacation for 12 of my best friends and we could not ask for a better place to stay. The owner and property manager were all great and very easy to work with. We can not wait to come back! If you are looking for the perfect home that is well worth the rental cost, THIS IS IT! BEST house in Bend!! I promise you will enjoy it!

Magical location

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year in a row staying at this magical property on the Deschutes River with our extended family. Waking up in the morning to the serenity of the birds chirping, the breeze through the trees and the glassy flowing river was simply amazing. My husband and I brought books and magazines out to the river-level seating area every afternoon and we never got around to reading.... we just watched the action on the river! People floated by in inner tubes, rafts, canoes and kayaks, kids jumped off the nearby bridge, and many of them called out to us enviously, complimenting the property. Our younger family members loved the provided kayaks and stand up paddeboards, easily launched from the private dock.

We used the provided cruiser bikes to pick up fresh berries each morning at a stand on Galveston Street close by -- delicious!

Everything about the interior of the house is lovely and comfortable. Our only issue was that the internet service was spotty -- which seems to be a problem with the local provider, Bend Broadband, not the set-up at the house. Luckily the property manager, Debbie, was extremely responsive and sent a tech support person out right away to help resolve the problem.

This is one of those properties that you almost don't want to review, because you want to keep it to yourself.... :) But the world needs more peace and serenity, so... I'll share. :)
