Description

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday cabin in Harrisville - Rocky Point Cabin

Pristine Site on Oswegatchie River,

Relax and enjoy yourself sitting on the porches overlooking the pristine 'Oswegatchie River'. Go swimming, rock hoping, and have a cool beverage while soaking in the many 'pools' in the Oswegatchie River. The River is 150' wide and has a rocky bottom with area of gentle rapids, rock outcrops, and pools. Upstream 1/4 mile is an area where you can launch a canoe easily and have many miles of canoeing and kayaking on the River.

Bring your boat and launch it at a state boat launch three miles away at the very scenic Lake Bonaparte. Enjoy a romantic evening at the outdoor fire pit or, on cooler nights, stoke up the glass-front woodstove. Enjoy a romantic walk through the woods and pine plantation on the 40 acre tract that the cabin is located on.

The cabin is absolutely charming, finished with all knotty pine inside, featuring a loft area, open living and kitchen area, half round log staircase and steps, and round log railings and post throughout cabin and porch areas. There is a Queen bed in lower bedroom, 1 full bed and 2 single beds in Loft area. The cabin is powered by new upgraded solar power with unlimited power. New in 2016 is Satellite TV, and WIFI.

The cabin site is located on a small point with a 180 degree view of the River. Majestic white pines along the river bank add to the beauty of this site. The cabin is accessed by a private gated road shared by four other camp owners. Cabin site is very private. There is an easy walk approach to the river shoreline. Swimming areas with flat rock ledge bottom. The new Firepit and landscaped area on waterfront is appealing and convienant.

Enjoy dining and shopping at the home style restaurants and shops located in the Harrisville area better known as the 'Gateway to the Adirondacks'. There are large tracts of state land nearby for hiking and backwoods canoeing enthusiasts. An information packet is available to show the great hiking areas within 40 miles of cabin. Photos ,maps and descriptions of the trails ,locations of State Forests will be available. Also ask us about some secret gems of hikes to nearby waterfalls. Canoeing and Kayaking info packet will also be available .

Guided canoe ,kayak and hiking trips are available, Let us show you around the area, owner is a former Wilderness Ranger for NYS DEC, for a summer in the Five Ponds Wilderness Area. Day rates available.

The cabin and site is very unique and one of a kind. The sound of the River is always present. The site really is a gem and breathtaking, and, once you stay here, I know you'll want to come again.

Thanksgiving Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time my boyfriend and I booked our trip through Ralph and we had a fantastic time!! After staying at his Independence River Cabin in October, we immediately fell in love with the property and wanted to check out the others. I recommend both! The cabins are SO clean, and Ralph is great to work with. He goes above and beyond for his visitors to make sure we have a relaxing stay. Not only that, but we get to bring our dog along with us which is a huge bonus. We'll definitely be back, thanks again!

Peaceful and Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great, relaxing retreat. The sound of the river rushing right outside the door was so calming. We loved grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting on the front porch watching the water pass by. The inside of the cabin was extremely clean (!!) decorated with care and comfort, had so many extra amenities, a perfect cabin nestled on private and secluded piece of property (a piece of heaven). The owner, Ralph, checked on us once via phone call but left us to unwind and relax on our own (which we did appreciated - the call and the privacy). Wish we had time to book a longer stay! Highly recommend - we will be back! Thank you!

This was everything we needed and more!

The cabin, the river, the autumn leaves were absolutely amazing. Me and my wife enjoyed every moment of the property. The cabin is very welcoming and gives you a sense of warmth as soon as you pull up. The interior will blow you away. Beautiful wood work and just enough immenities to keep the wilderness your friend throughout your stay.

The cabin is in a wonderful spot on the river.....So peaceful and quiet. Couldn't have been more satisfied with the stay. If we visit that area again, we plan on staying in the Kimbrell cabin. Thanks Ralph

This cabin was amazing! Very comfortable and charming indoors and out. The landscaping was beautiful with many places to unwind while enjoying the beauty and serenity of the river. Ralph was available for questions and made sure to check in on us while we were there. Lots of places to walk and observe nature. I highly recommend this cabin!
