The East Wing Apartment in the Oldest Queen Anne Victorian home in Long Beach. We call this 'wing' of the house 'Sea La Vie'. It has two bedrooms (sleeps four) with a full service kitchen, . Wifi ready. FIOS cable television and flat screen TVs with numerous movie and sport channels. Private patio and secure, gated 3 car parking area. Four miles from the convention center.
Public transportation stop in front of the residence. Golf course across the street, Belmont Shore and beach walk ten minutes. Close to upscale shops and restaurants Minutes to downtown and Catalina port. A short 4 mile drive or bus ride to the Long Beach Convention Center. The perfect honeymoon hideaway.
Our home has been a work in progress since we bought it. It was built in 1884 by the Long Beach City founders, the Bixby Family, and is the oldest house in Long Beach. The history of the house and previous owners is like a storybook. There have even been tales of friendly ghosts.

The property has a rural atmosphere but is close to all activities, shopping, Conventions, the beach, sailing, swimming, golf, dining and night life.
'Sea La Vie' is a one of a kind Victorian home built in 1884!!! It is close to everything. It provides all the benefits of home in a secured environment. Off street parking, yard, patio/BBQ, some pet friendly (inquire), public transportation access. Golf, shopping and dining within walking distance.
Very comfortable in an excellent location. The sleep number bed is Great! And the kitchen is completely stocked with anything you needed. Wonderful place for dogs. Loved the close access to Rosie's Dog Beach and the local dog park. And the fenced yard is a real plus. We stayed for month and had plenty of room for actual living vs just living out of a suitcase. And Dan is a very welcoming and supportive host. Would willing book again if we are back in the area.
Very complete and homey.....a joy to comeback at the end of the day. .... And to pass a day at home relaxing and resting also.
My wife & I stayed here from Dec 18th to Dec 26th. Not only are the owners, Layne & Dan, the best one could ask for but the property is great. Seems much larger than advertised with loads of room for the two of us plus our pooch. The master was large with an electric fireplace, big flat screen TV and gigantic walk in closet. Kitchen is bright & well appointed with table & chairs, all the appliances and washer/dryer to boot. Living room is homey & comfortable with TV & DVD. Second bedroom on the smaller side with no window but a good place to park the suitcases, hook up the computer at the work station or watch TV on another flat screen. Nice bright bathroom with room to move around and store your toiletries. Property is gated with large lawn area, small enclosed patio and, best of all, off street parking. Greenbelt area right across the street for walking the dog or go another block to enjoy the wildfowl at the lagoon and cross the foot bridge to let the beastie tear around in the roped off 'dog park' area. Short, pleasant walk to restaurants & stores, ocean beaches and a block from the most quaint, well stocked deli/grocery/restaurant/wine store you've ever seen. Couldn't ask for more at an affordable price...close to everything....you won't regret it.
We got so lucky when we found Sea la Vie! It was wonderful for my Scottish godparents to stay in during the week of my wedding. Layne and her husband are perfectly wonderful hosts, with a natural sense of providing an "at home" feeling away from home. Not only were lodgings comfortable and very tidy, but the history and character of this place are super intriguing! The property's allure is far more interesting in person than what you see in the pictures, (and they're great pictures!) All the amenities were excellent! There is even a little Ma n Pa store right up the street for that morning treat, snack, or cream for your coffee. I will absolutely be recommending this as lodging for when guests come to town. I just hope they will have an opening. As word gets out about this gem, the place will book up quickly. Don't hesitate to book a visit. Nearby Belmont Shores, and the 2nd street shopping (both within walking distance) are packed full of options for entertainment, activities, restaurants of all kinds, and beautiful Southern California ambiance. Loved this place!!
Charming Queen Anne Victorian is well situated. The beach is just a short walk from the apartment as are the great restaurants and shops along Belmont Shores. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped including a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Delightful for a weekend retreat or extended stay.
Lots to do in the area and easy access to public transportation into the Los Angeles area.
We would defintely stay there again!
We won't be staying anywhere else in the future. We have found our new home away from home.. The next trip we won't pack much! They have thought of everything, even some things we didn't think of. The thoughtful attention to detail makes you feel so at home. Walking into this Victorian with the whimsical roof we didn't know what to expect and what we found was just as special. This place is so charming, cozy & romantic. Our poodles loved the private little patio and the doggie beach just down the street. It was so nice to be able to bring the "whole family". The bed was so comfy & our stay was so nice we didn't want to leave.
