Enter via a circular driveway with fountain. Property consists of a Main House and Guest Suite Apartment above the two-car Garage, with Separate Outdoor Entrance. The House can be rented With or Without the Apartment. The Apartment can be rented separately in Low Season, VRBO Listing 826466. Apartment is kept Vacant if Client rents the Main House. Main House has 5 Bedrooms, 3 Q Bedrooms and 3 Full Baths on Ground Level, plus 4 Twin beds in 2 Loft Bedrooms,, sleeping a total of 10. All 3 downstairs bedrooms have en suite bathrooms with marble showers, soaking tubs, some double sinks and electric fireplaces. Master Suite has Jacuzzi. All downstairs rooms have outdoor access, many 22 ft. ceilings, and Panoramic Views through huge windows. There is a Home Theater with 70' Flat TV Screen which has leather seating , plus a closet. Home Theater has Netflix streaming and a Blue Ray DVD Player. There are flat screen TV's in Master Bedroom and Great Room. Great Room also has a Blue Ray DVD Player. Above the Master Bedroom, there is a Bedroom Loft with King or Twin Daybed, Closet, Amazing Views, and Home Office. There is a 1250 sq. ft. deck across the back of the house, with a 93 jet hot tub, Barbecue, Outdoor Refrigerator, Dining and Seating Space, and 4 chaise lounges. The house is especially suitable for three couples, four if the Guest Apartment is included. The 2-room Guest Suite Apartment has a Q bed and King/Twin Daybed, Kitchen, Double Shower, Soaking Tub, Flat Screen TV, WiFi, A/C, W/D, Electric Fireplace, and Private Balcony. My late husband and I owned a vacation home in this area in the '90s, and traveled here frequently from the Bay Area before selling it to friends. When he passed away, I wanted to live in a quiet and beautiful setting in a small town with all of the necessities, and the spot where I built my house fitted this description. I had friends here, and the outdoor activities available also appealed to me. The opportunity to build this contemporary log home with so many great details was a wonderful challenge.
The Main House has a wood-burning River Rock FP with rocks gathered from this property during excavation. It is a replica of the FP at Crater Lake Lodge. The back of the FP is in the Master BR and has a vent-free, catalytic gas FP. There is a Gourmet Kitchen, with Wolf and Subzero Appliances, Granite in countertops and splashes, Custom Lighting, on demand hot water, and many exquisite details. The house also has Custom Lighting throughout, Theater Room with 70' Flat Screen TV and Surround Sound in Loft above Great Room, and 2 additional Flat Screen TV's, in Master Bedroom and Living Room, Office, Reading Alcove, Bunk Room, W/D, AC, WiFi, and gorgeous hardwood floors. The 1200 sq. ft. deck has Dining Table, Barbecue, Refrigerator, Seating Area, 93 Jet Hot Tub, and access to all rooms. Two-car Garage.
There were eight of us in our party and we all enjoyed the vacation. The log home is beautiful with hard wood floors, large windows to enjoy the views and space to relax. The large deck facing the backyard was the highlight for me. The mornings were cool and the evenings were made even better by viewing the stars. An added bonus was the wildlife. We saw a small group of deer almost every day and a group of wild turkeys would also come to the yard. The views from the deck and the windows were outstanding. It was so nice to be able to see off for a few miles at the hills and trees in the area. The location of the house is great. It is situated on a rise which affords for the great views plus it is only about half a mile from the main business area of Shady Cove. We often just walked to town. The Rogue River is also close, just at the bottom of the hill. When walking down the hill take note of the osprey nest at the top of one of the trees. If you go you won't be disappointed.
We booked this house for Christmas. It was a perfect meeting place for the Oregon and California branches of our family. Located a convenient 30 minutes from the Medford airport and an hour from Mt Ashland ski area, it's good for active travelers as well as folks who just want to relax. Our group had both. The home is immaculately and tastefully appointed. Suzanne has thought of everything and is very responsive if you have any questions. There's something interesting and lovely to see everywhere you look--and that's not even counting the beautiful view out the immense picture windows! The gourmet kitchen has everything you need. We fixed a fancy Christmas dinner here. We hope to have a reason to stay here again in the future.
Beautiful, relaxing, home away from home. A great place to stay in southern Oregon. A quiet area within reasonable driving distance to most anything you would want to do. My siblings and spouses visited the Redwoods, Rogue River, Crater Lake, wineries and breweries along with hiking and relaxing. Everything you need is included. It was nice to have the option to cook/BBQ and sit around the tables inside and out to catch up and reboot as well as enjoy the hot tub after an active day. I also recommend stoping in at The Picnic Basket in town for some sandwiches. The local Market and liquor store were great places to pick up any provisions. Excellent accommodations and friendly owner who provided area information, map, and readily answered any questions. Property was clean, well maintained and as described in listing. Definitely would recommend.
Just a perfect house to "chill" - everything you ever wanted in a house - very quiet - very private. Personally I love that the hot tub is very private, you don't have the neighbors looking at you. Just a lovely setting! This was my second time renting and plan on coming back!
My 10 person family loved our stay here! It was big enough that we did not get in each other's way. There were enough rooms that when someone wanted privacy it was available. The common area was great for all of gathering together. Withe 5 adults and 5 teenagers this was the right size place (we also rented the apartment above the garage. This is a gorgeous home with beautiful interior decoration. It is elegant but relaxing. Thanks to Suzanne for a great stay.
We had an amazing time staying here, we're a family of five and everyone was extremely comfortable. It was a great atmosphere for barbecues, relaxing, and overall just enjoying ourselves. The house itself is beautiful! Beautifully constructed and decorated as well as being impeccably put together for our arrival. Suzanne was very detailed in her explanations having to do with everything in the house which made it easy to feel at home. As for location, it is in a wonderful spot- centrally located for rafting, fishing, and Crater Lake. We would definitely recommend this property.
Property is located in small town on the Rogue River, with River Access at bottom of hill, for flyfishing, boating and rafting. Ashland is 35 miles to the West, Crater Lake is 60 miles to the East. Stewart State Park is nearby, with miles of paved walking and biking trails. Lost Creek Lake and Marina offers beach, boating, fishing, and a restaurant. Rogue River is steps from the front door, and offers fishing, rafting, and boating. There are at least six wineries in the area. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland is a 40 minute drive, the Britt Music Festival in Jacksonville is also a 35 minute drive.
