Rabbit Run Retreat is nestled in a beautiful, tranquil country setting, located in Norris, TN. A large yard with a patio provides space for outdoor dining or just relaxing.
There are two large great rooms, 5 bedrooms, 2 family rooms, 2 kitchens and 3 baths. One great room overlooks a peaceful valley and pond where deer often wander. It is set up with large tables for crafts, meetings or dining with a view!
Jim and Judy operated a sign shop, Val-U-Signs, in Oak Ridge, TN from the mid 80's until 2006. When we retired, our son purchased, and now operates, the business.
I guess we couldn't stay retired because here we are starting another business. In 2005 we purchased a Crestline modular home and erected it on our property in Norris (8.6 acres). We lived in the home until early 2012. It's a lovely home, but more space than we need. We subdivided the property, moved another house next door and now live there.
Over the years we have done quite a bit of entertaining in the Rabbit Run house. Plus there was one wedding and one memorial service. It really is a perfect place to have a gathering.
We chose the name because we have had a rabbit rescue here for several years.
Our rabbit rescue pen has become a home for chickens, two rabbits, and a guinea pig. Our granddaughter, Charlie, is an animal lover; and chickens are her current favorite. We still have a house rabbit in our home. He is a white dwarf named Marshmallow. There are also four cats--they are all gentle, and they may come to visit the Rabbit house yard.
Judy Valentine purchased this chateau / country house in 2005
It's a lovely and peaceful place. When we purchased the property in 1997, we wanted to be in the country without being too far from civilization. It's just a few minutes to drive to walking trails, streams, Norris Dam and Norris State Park shopping, and restaurants.
Only an hour away from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the retreat is 16 miles north of Knoxville, TN--just minutes away from Norris Lake, Norris Dam, the Clinch River, Appalachian Museum, U.T. Stadium, hiking, biking, and horseback trails.
Shopping, restaurants, and easy interstate access are all close by.
Had a great time there at Rabbit Run Retreat with a great group of Veterans and the program for Veterans, Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. Allowing us D.A. Veterans to come together and capture a little R & R, do a little fishing and be around a lot of great people. Thanks again and look forward to the next event. Sincerely, William (Charlie) PHWFF M'Boro, TN
Our whole family (about 23) gets together each year. This was our first time at The Rabbit Run Retreat House.
This house is perfect for such a get together. There are plenty of places to sleep, a wonderful enclosed porch where we could all fit to eat together, and much more. The description tells it all. Everything is provided that one could imagine and the owner is so gracious and friendly. We would like to make this our yearly gathering place. We cannot say enough good things about it.!!!
The retreat is a in a peaceful setting with all the amenities for a weekend get away. It is spacious for group gatherings indoors as well as outdoors. The only issue we had was the bunk beds on the lower level were not too comfortable for grown ladies.
Our quilter's retreat was a great getaway at Rabbit Run. The owner is present and attentive to any needs - promptly came and replaced light bulbs for better nighttime sewing.
We booked Rabbit Run for a youth retreat and enjoyed it. The house set up perfectly for our group. We had 12 people in our group and the two floors were perfect to have a devision of boys and girls in separate floors but still plenty of space to have everyone together for lessons and games. Kitchen was plenty big enough to cook a huge breakfast for everyone. There wasn't anything we needed that we could not find in the house. Loved this house and plan on using it again in the future.
This place was a home away from home it was very well kept and had every thing you needed to make it your get away home .
Our family could work together and cook we enjoyed it so much.
Mrs. Valentine (Judy) and her granddaughter made you feel at home.
there is talk of going back next year.
May God bless Mrs Judy for allowing families to use this nice place.
And our GPS took us took it,lol
Whenever my company have personnel visiting the Knoxville area, we immediately check to see if Rabbit Run is available. No hotel can match the ability to lay back and relax in a fully furnished home which is within driving distance of any event in Knoxville. The property is large enough for any size party. We have had 1 person and up to 13 people stay and each time our personnel walked away happy and impressed. Thanks Judy!
