The architect used dominant design elements such as - stone, wood and iron, strong and dynamic materials that have given a distinctive aspect and character to the building allowing for an exceptional architectural design, - the light that gives an outdoor aspect inside the house through spectacular openings and offers magnificent view of the pool, the garden and the sea, - the water that encircles the villa in an L-shaped, 23 metre long pool that is practically glued to the building; the sound of the water creates a sensation of serenity and relaxation by itself; at the same time, it offers continuity in the view of the sea and the horizon. - Together with the numerous stone columns in the yard, the verandas, the patio and the pool, the villa has something from the aura of a Roman mansion that stands still in absolute harmony. Inside however the bright and modern décor is more reminiscent of Versace than Caesar.MORE INFO : in Owners Website - www.elafonisi-villas.gr

Description Elafonisi villas - Livadia: The villas is located in the seaside village of Livadia, Keramoti bay, Innahorion, in the south western part of Crete, at a distance of 72 km from Chania and 31 km from Kissamos. The villa can be accessed through a 4 km long road that is connected to the regional provincial road. The village is located in the middle of the European hiking path E4– a seaside route of exceptional natural beauty- that starts at the village of Kambos and continues through the villages of Keramoti, Livadia, Chryssoskalitissa and Elafonisi. The route is typical of the rugged beauty of Crete with amazing changes of the scenery between olive and locust trees and sea-beaten rocks of black and red volcanic lava-In the village of Livadia, buying food is still done in the traditional way – you may buy fish from the fishermen in the small harbour, vegetables, dairy products and meat from the farmers, but you will also find three small taverns.
The west coast of Crete,: all the way from Mpallos and Falasarna till Sfinari, Livadia, Elafonisi in Kissamos until the Krios peninsula in Paleohora, has managed to remain intact despite the passing of time and to have many parts of it included in European Union programmes for the protection of nature. The coastline continues for many kilometres sprinkled with amazing beaches and quiet fishing villages. A few meters higher up in the mountains, mountainous villages pass the time gazing into the infinity of the African sea. Time goes by very slowly up her. Just about in the middle of the west coast, in the village of Livadia, we built the first residence, which was followed by all the rest, with the last two being funded by European Union through Hellenic Ministry of Rural Development and Food programmes for the development of agrotourism. Our concept has been based on notions like luxury, simplicity, natural beauty, ecological conscience, environmental respect.
This concept inspired the construction of dreamy retreats, residences with unique architectural design destined for special people who have seen and tried just about everything and now seek privacy, comfortable and luxurious relaxation in an enchanting setting that guarantees absolute enjoyment. It is a combination of adventure and return to nature at the same time...You can swim in secluded beaches, walk alone and barefoot on the sand and pebbles of the beach, enjoy the rugged beauty of the Cretan landscape on hiking tracks, taste traditional dishes in small local taverns in beautiful villages scattered around this area, savour wine and tsikoudia in the company of locals, go fishing and, weather permitting of course, enjoy a small trip on a speed boat in a search of secluded beaches. You can enjoy captivating sunsets; You can put aside your everyday problems, feel rejuvenated, fill your batteries, get in touch with the people you love but most of all, get in touch again with yourself.
We truly enjoyed the luxury and the calm atmosphere of Villa Nautilus and the area of Livadia. We can only recommend this part of Crete, but...you'll have to experience it your self. We'll probably be back..
We have the best memories from our weekly holidays in Crete. First of all, the island is a great destination even in September. We enjoyed the crystal clear waters of Elafonisi without the crowds and the locals were more relaxed in comparison to another year when we had chosen August for our journey to this amazing island.
However, this year we were super excited for one more reason. Villa Nautilus made our stay in Crete unforgettable. The location was excellent, the pool, the interiors and the privacy, all deserve our five star rating!
I must say, that the few times we decided that we were very tired to go out, we enjoyed staying in, playing in the pool with the kids or simply relaxing. The restaurant was nearby and we had easy and quick access to great food (an important factor when you have children).
We are very happy to have met the people from Elafonisi Villas and we look forward to be back in a couple of years. I hope that we will be lucky enough to find Villa Nautilus available again. Until then, many thanks to Natasa and Grigoris for their discreet and continuous support whenever we needed help. We fully recommend staying at Villa Nautilus.
We spent a week in villa Nautilus last summer. It was our second time in Crete and we decided to have a more authentic experience in an unspoiled part of the island, away from the busy touristic attractions.
Villa Nautilus became my family's paradise! The villa is modern, comfortable and very well maintained. We enjoyed the sea view of the villa but above all we charge our batteries with sun! The orientation of the villa is such that allows the guests to enjoy the sun all day long from early morning to sunset!
For children the place was a reveal of a natural way of living! We were picking up the eggs from chicken almost daily and mr. Gregory (the maintainer) used to bring us tomatoes and fresh onions from his own garden!
We had a wonderful time in this house!
My children keep asking when we return to our "pool" and I promised them that we will be back soon...
Our family of four (including two young children)has rented apartments/houses throughout Europe, but Villa Nautilus takes the prize for exceeding our expectations! The house is simply stunning. The pictures are accurate, but can't begin to portray how beautiful it really is. Of course the view of the sea is breathtaking, but the villa itself is very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The small kitchen is very well stocked, and the comfy couch gave our family a place to curl up at the end of our adventure-filled days. The villa was also impeccably clean, and included the luxuries usually found in nice hotels like fluffy towels and duvets and even complimentary toiletries.
The location was great. Though remote, the beautiful pink-sand beaches of Elafonisi are a short drive away. And the remote location of the village added to the adventure! Luckily, within a few minutes walk from the villa, you will end up at a fantastic Traverna, and will be dazzled by whatever Yanni decides to cook up that evening. Again -- amazing.
I was also extremely impressed by the staff at Innahorion Villas. Everyone, from the very helpful and friendly Natasa who walked us through our holiday from the planning stage through our enchanting stay, to the 'handyman' who lives near the villa and was there to help us with what ever questions we had about the property. The customer service could not have been better.
I whole-heartedly recommend this villa. It would be great for families with children young or old, or a group of friends traveling together. My kids must have asked me a hundred times when we will go back to our 'pool house' and I couldn't agree more --I can't wait to go back one day!
We spent very good holidays : the house is spacious and beautiful, the swimming pool is big and always very appropriate and the perfect reception. The villa is ideally situated and sunsets seen by our terrace are magnificent.
Everything was very well for our stay of 2 weeks:
- The house is completed: comfortable and very practical; attractive.
- The swimming pool is very big, pleasant, soft and magnificent.
- An attractive garden: seen on the sea and of magnificent sunset
- The place is very quiet and quiet
- The staff is discreet and very effective
