'Waldhaus' is a fabulous single family home, right next to the base of Peak 8, at a premier location for skiing in the winter (SKI-IN) and biking/hiking in the summer. The large window in the vaulted living room provides a beautiful view of the majestic mountain range.
Two separate living areas with fireplaces and flat-screen TVs with VCR/DVD/Blu-ray and CD player allow the extended family to comfortably spread out. High-speed wireless internet and a large selection of TV channels keep you connected.
And a brand new 2015 hot tub makes for wonderful spa feeling after an active day.
Enjoy direct access to the slopes of Peak 8 and most marvelous trails of the area. In the winter Peak 8 is the first area to get loads of snow, ski-in is quasi guaranteed at all times!
Relax in the very private new luxury hot tub after a fun day on the slopes, biking or hiking.
Ski-in from Trygves Run and get out to the slopes with a short walk via the property lot and 4-O'Clock Run Rd, or down the road to the base of Peak 8. The base of Peak 8 is the true hub of the mountain for skiers and non-skiers alike, housing 'One Ski Hill Place' with dining, bar, grill, live-music, and a huge heated patio open year-round looking at the mountain. All this less than 300 yards from the house.
If downhill is not for you, the Nordic center is a short walk away.
An extensive network of mountain bike and hiking trails starts directly behind the house. The base of Peak 8 hosts the “Fun Park”, which provides summer mountain fun for the whole family: Gold Runner Coaster, Alpine Superslide, Gemstone Panning, Mineshaft Maze, Rockpile Climbing Wall, Superbungee Trampoline, Bounce House, as well as: Breck 4x4 Tours, Brecktreks Guided Hiking Tours, Mountain Biking, Superputt Mini Golf, Free Scenic Gondola Rides, and Scenic Chairlift Rides up into the mountain!
New: the “Tenmile Flyer Zipline” is departing at Peak 8 as well. You can reach speeds of up to 45 mph while sailing 50 feet high up in the air!
The chalet sits on an oversized and beautifully wooded lot - for kids to roam around & build tree houses. Private patio with adirondack chairs and brand new 2015 hot tub! And the popular Peak 8 Fun Park is right next door!
Town is less than a mile away and is connected via the Gondola, the free bus system that stops at the base of Peak 8, hiking trails and the road. Shopping (groceries, liquor store, etc.) are located a short walk from the Gondola. Ride the Gondola 'down'-town to get your groceries if you like!

We are a family of six living and working in Boulder.
This chalet is managed by us and professionally run.
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2012
Peak 8 is Breckenridge's first ski development and gets snow first and keeps it the longest - allowing to ski-in the entire season. Whether you ski, hike or bike, you want to live right where the action is, not touch the car, and not haul any equipment.
Hike and bike trails right behind the house make the chalet in summer a gem right in the beautiful nature and tranquil wilderness of the National Forest while being so close to everything.
The convenience of downtown Breckenridge is just a Gondola ride away.
'Waldhaus' is extremely secluded right in the National Forest, offering a private hot-tub under the stars, yet a stone-throw away from the slopes, Vail Resort's #1 hotel in Breckenridge, the Gondola, and downtown. Ski-in, bike or hike from the hustle and bustle of the resort into total privacy and silence.
You can't get any closer to the slopes in this home! The home could use some repairs and updates especially in the kitchen area. Great outdoor hot tub. Different layout. You walk into bedrooms and a living area. The kitchen is upstairs. Steep stairs not for people who have disabilities. Bedrooms have baseboard heating which I feel would be dangerous for small children. Two nice fireplace living areas. Much smaller than we expected for the price.
Group of 10 friends stayed here in July. Had a great time. The home worked amazing, very cozy, and awesome location. We took advantage of the nice kitchen and living room, hot tub, and even made a nice fire outside.
Our large family -- we have 5 kids -- had a perfect early spring weekend at Wildhaus. The space and location were perfect for us. We all had space for sleeping, reading and relaxing and the walk to ski Breck each day was easy and hassle free. The family that owns this lovely property was attentive and gracious and the property was clean and comfortable. We will return or a another list!
The chalet is exceptional in every way, especially suited for family vacations.
We stayed with a group of 7 other adults for a great week of skiing. Conditions were good and we got 10
inches of snow while we were there. The house was in good condition with a fully equipped kitchen and cozy fireplace by the
main gathering area. Although the
bedding could have been better (a bit worn out) the bedrooms were decent and the place was clean and generally well maintained. The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing and the neighborhood was lovely and very convenient. We wouldn't call this a ski in/ski out property. You can very easily walk to the Peak 8 lift and you can ski back through a narrow trail if you can find it. Not easy after a fresh snow. As far as altitude, be prepared if you normally live at sea level. The house is located at nearly 10,000 feet and you feel it. Don't hesitate to bring medication with you after checking with your doctor. It can make a big difference. Altitude sickness can become serious and no one wants their trip to be cut short in a wonderful location like this.
We had a great family ski vacation in this truly fabulous cabin! Loved the decor of the house, enjoyed the two wood-burning fireplaces after coming home (the season was a really good one). Our group agreed that the house was as advertised (if not better), and communication with owners smooth. Even though it is a little walk to the slopes, we didn't see many properties that are much closer to the mountain than this one, and also not at this price. After an exhausting day, at least, we could ski back in. We are already planning our 2015 trip and will be back!
The base of Peak 8 is the first and last area to see snow and open their lifts. The house is 300 yards from the slopes, ski-in conditions permitting. Peak 8 is also where the action is in the summer. Take the gondola 'down'-town to shop for groceries.
