Description

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Bude - Upton House

Five bedroom house sleeping 12 with fantastic, spacious gardens

A wonderful house, set in large and secluded gardens, in the quiet hamlet of Upton a few minutes from the centre of Bude town. Upton House is a fantastic house built from local Cornish stone and offers really superb accommodation for up to twelve. Original flagstone floors are to be found in the hallway, impressive kitchen and conservatory and there are a further two sitting rooms providing plenty of space for all.

Upton House is a short walk to Bude's renowned canal which offers gentle strolls into town and beaches or inland to the nature reserve. Perfectly placed for a relaxing and tranquil holiday, there is plenty for the outdoor adventurer nearby. Widemouth Bay offers great surfing and swimming and the coast path is a must for those who like to take the bracing sea air with fantastic cliff walks.

Lovely house in super setting for exploring Cornwa

  • 5 of 5

We were delighted with our stay at Upton House which was exactly as expected and ideal for our extended family of 12 adults, one baby and a dog. The downstairs was large enough for everyone not to feel cramped and for people to be with others or to move around and do their own thing. The kitchen was spacious, easily accommodating everyone for breakfast and evening meals. We spent time in the conservatory relaxing, reading, playing games and completing three jigsaw puzzles.

The bedrooms were tidy with clean bedding and towels and lovely comfortable beds for a wonderful nights sleep. (We did find the shower in the smallest double bedroom a little feeble and the door wasnt lockable.)

The gardens were very pretty with nice seating areas and a lawned area where the boys played golf. We even had a barbeque one evening. We did think it was a shame that the pond had to be covered with net presumably for health & safety reasons. Maybe it would be better with no pond at all!

The parking area was more than adequate for our five cars

Nick, the manager, was very helpful & provided excellent customer service and kept us informed through every stage of the booking.

We can certainly recommend Lansdown Dairy for providing us with very good basic food when we arrived (we ordered in advance but picked up order from shop where it was waiting for us).

We enjoyed walking to the local beaches, where some went surfing, walking along the canal into Bude, hiring bikes & riding into Padstow where we ate the best fish & chips ever at Rick Steins place. (watch out for seagulls waiting to grab some!) We visited Boscastle, Trebarwith Strand (loved it), Port Isaac & Tintangel & the house & gardens at Lanhydrock. Two of of us even went to a car boot sale!

The property was clean & tidy & well maintained and we would have no hesitation in recommending Upton House to others. Hopefully we might even return one day for another family get together. We will certainly use Home Away another time. Thank you so much.

To the Manor born

This property is very impressive, from first entering the gates to the circular drive, with more then ample parking for a number of cars.

The house is beautiful and very spacious, with everything and more that you would need for a perfect holiday. We would highly recommend this property. The gardens are large and very peaceful.

It is only a short drive to local beaches Bude or Widemouth

If your looking for a relaxing holiday, we would certainly recommend this property and we enjoyed a wonderful week there.

Thank you again Nick for a lovely holiday.

Excellent family house

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks stay at Upton House with all our family. It exceeded our expectations. The impressive entrance gates and drive were very welcoming. It was beautifully decorated and clean. We appreciated the welcome hamper, it was a nice touch. The description and photos were exactly as described in the brochure. The configuration of bedrooms was perfect for our family which consisted of 6 adults, two teenagers and two young children. The house is very well maintained and equipped. The garden was amazing and much bigger than it looked in the photos. We particularly enjoyed the close proximity of the house to the canal which enabled us to walk to the beach every day, that was an added bonus and priceless to us. I would thoroughly recommend this house and we hope to return soon. The service we received from Nick at Elite West Holidays was excellent and made booking our holiday effortless.

excellent and relaxing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We have not chosen to have our main holiday in the UK for over 16years so this was a new venture for us - hiring a large house and inviting an extended family to stay. The venue and the area more than lived up to expectations. The house itself, set in extensive well maintained and private gardens, is well equipped with supremely comfortable beds, a conservatory which is sunny throughout the day and a larger farmhouse style kitchen with long table to match at which 12 of us sat to evening meals. The gardens are secure and safe and the grandchildren loved to roam and play games here, whilst the more mature members of our party relaxed on the patio or on one of the three outside sets of garden furniture. the house is convenient to walk into Bude via the nearby canal towpath, and there are many destinations within 1 hrs drive

Our very own picture postcard for a week

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent the most amazing week at Upton House. Absolutely beautiful property which easily accommodated our group of 9. The house is set in the most beautifully landscaped and maintained grounds, which are as pretty as a picture.

We found the house to be incredibly clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped with a large table for us all to sit around in the evening and the bedrooms were comfortable and a good size.

Upton House is situated in a great location with easy access to the coastal path and the canal path so a good location for our daily walks to the next cream tea.

Booking was very easy and Nick from Elite West Holidays was very helpful and we found the website very informative.

We would definitely recommend this property and would love to visit again in the future.

Top Notch

  • 5 of 5

Another stay at one of Nick's houses and once again feel compelled to write to say what a great time we had. A really great house, all mod cons and so good to enjoy the extensive gardens and seclusion but be so close to the beach and local town. We like Bude - lots for the kids to do - surfing, boating, tennis, horse riding etc and we enjoy the local restaurants which are really classy. Cannot fault what Nick's company offers and as always booking was simple with first class service throughout. Already booked for next year!
