Breathtaking View of Ocean in This Beach Front Cottage

Separate WC's1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

A most memorable vacation can be yours, in this cottage, with unforgettable views of the ocean. The dolphins swim by each day. You are greeted each morning with a well lit great room- sky lights that shed light on a spacious living and dining area.

The huge kitchen is fully equipped, just like home, with a breakfast bar, wet bar, and separate sitting area with the view of the sound. One can walk out on the decks from the bedrooms as well as the top deck for hot tubing, dining, sunning, and relaxation. You will find the hot tub a perfect place to end your fun filled days. The Milky Way will delight you.

In 1999, while visiting my best friend in Salvo, North Carolina, I fell in love with Cape Hatteras. I was fortunate enough to buy Sunjammer that summer and have added and changed much since then. (The first addition, of course, was the hot tub.)

Good to know information: All linens are supplied. The home is cleaned before and after you leave. The hot tub is cleaned weekly for new renters. It is my wish to make this cottage a home away from home, for me, as well as you.

There is so much to do and sightseeing is awesome... Cape Hatteras Light House is not to be missed! So why not spend a week at the Sunjammer where you can experience all that the Outer Banks has to offer!

Plan now for a vacation you will always remember ...the weeks book fast!!

All you could want and more!

It has always been our dream to stay on the beach in the Outer Banks. We were delighted when we found Sunjammer house! This house met all of our expectations and more! It was quite spacious and cleanly. It was also set up perfectly to accomodate both the adult vacationers, as well as the children! Not one thing has been overlooked by the owner! There are two levels to the house - both with decks on each level. You can see the beach and ocean from both and the view from the upper deck is breathtaking! What a way to wind down a perfect beach day - sitting on the upper deck, watching the sunset over the ocean while sitting in the hot tub. We have made memories that will last us a lifetime! We will definitely be returning to Sunjammer for years to come!

Relaxing & Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

The perfect getaway! I went to the OBX for a girl's getaway and stayed at this lovely beach cottage. I left the family (all boys!) at home to relax, unwind, recharge and bask in the sun. We had such a great time that I extended my stay from one week to two! Even with my boys at home, it would have been the perfect family getaway too; they would have loved going up and over the sand dunes, no doubt!

The hot tub on the third deck with drink in hand was an AH.MAZ.ING way to end the day … at sunset or under the stars, perfect either way! I think being "unplugged" was the best part. Unlike some of the typical beach homes that are setup for a 24x7 party, this home encourages the traditional getaway vacation with board games, puzzles, books and the ability to "unplug" and connect with each other. Who needs video games when you have the beach and ocean right in front of you? Although, Wi-Fi is available should you feel the need to connect and "check in".

The house was well kept and had everything we needed. We also enjoyed sight seeing at Cape Hatteras Light House and massages at the local spa. Aaaahhhhh! Highly recommended. I can't wait until the next time.

Beautiful and right on the ocean!!

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed at this cottage several times and it's been wonderful each and every time! You can't beat the fact that it's right on the ocean... I fell asleep to the sound of waves every single night. If you get up early enough, you can watch the amazing sunrise on the horizon from the top deck! This place reminds me of home because of all the little cozy touches and over the years I've watched this house get better and better. It's also nice to have all the amenities you need to cook with and even bake at home and once you make a trip to the Food Lion down in Avon (buy the fresh seafood!), you're set up for the week to eat, drink and relax in the sun! The spa is amazing no matter what time of day, and I recommend going in around dusk, it's so beautiful! When I wasn't at the beach, which was often, I was usually out on the top deck reading or relaxing in the spa. Can you tell I love the spa? Lol. On rainy days I'd pop in a DVD, play board games or do a puzzle which all comes with the house. I went to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and climbed to the top, and wow what a workout... the view is so worth it! Also, there are great local restaurants and seafood markets that you should take advantage of!

It's just such a nice departure from the city life I'm used to and I can't wait to go back!! There is no place on this earth like the Outer Banks! :)

Very Disappointed

  • 1 of 5

"Breathtaking view" is nonexistent - huge sand dune blocking view from house. Pictures must be very old. In my opinion - house was dirty and not well kept up and reality involved very unprofessional

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. I guess "breathtaking" is in the eye of the beholder. With the entire back yard being the Atlantic Ocean, it is a beautiful sight to behold. The sand dune protects the home and is nature's response to erosions and the changing of the current. The sound of the waves are ever present. As for the cleanliness of the home, that is what homeowners trust the management company to take care of. it is my hope that you voiced your concerns with them before leaving the cottage.

Very good Experience

  • 5 of 5

This place is awesome!!! The picture of the house in the website looks ordinary (owner needs to update the website with latest pictures)...but once you go there you will be amazed.

We stayed there for 3 days and had lots fun. Highly recommended if you are looking for a break from daily chaos and hectic schedules.
