Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you very much for a lovely break. The weather was very kind which allowed us to enjoy our days out in Battle,Rye and Hastings as well as some lovely walks in the surrounding area.

We all enjoyed our morning walks especially Connie,( the Labrador),through your woodlands with the beautiful bluebells.

You are very lucky to have such a nice place and we really enjoyed our stay here.

Quiet Countryside Beauty

  • 5 of 5

This cute little cottage on the farm was so tranquil for my writing holiday. The Sheep greeted me every day and there was plenty of beautiful walking trails through the woods for inspiration. The hosts were very nice to inform about all the great tourist and historical towns in the area to visit.

Cosy, clean and very well furnished.

  • 4 of 5

Despite the rain we had a lovely week in a lovely location. The Byre is very well furnished, cosy and homely with wonderful views of the countryside. The owners are very welcoming and helpful, their dogs are delightful and quickly made friends with our own dogs. The woods were perfect for us and we walked there every day, exploring and watching the wildlife there.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Dear Julia & Paul

I just wanted to write and thank you both for making Aga and me feel so welcome last weekend. We had such a great time, it was just perfect.

The cottage felt like home very quickly with everything anyone could need and the location, so peaceful and beautiful, but in easy reach of everything we wanted to see and do.

It's not over yet though... thanks to you we have rhubarb crumble yet to come ;-)

If we are ever planing to visit Sussex again, we're sure to see you then.

Thanks so much!

Daniel

a wonderful week

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was absolutely perfect and provided me with an excellent base to explore the Sussex/Kent countryside, gardens and coastline! All the local places of interest (Rye, Hastings, Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle etc) are within a 30 minute drive away, and the cottage itself is situated in the most beautiful rural location, with lovely views all around.

It is furnished and maintained to a very high standard, and contains everything you would expect to find in a 'first class' self catering property -and more besides!

The owners (who live nearby) added the 'finishing touch' to my holiday, as they made me feel really welcome, did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable, and provided advice on local amenities, walks etc without intruding upon my privacy at all.

I cannot rate the property highly enough - 5 stars definitely!!

Peaceful Retreat in Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

A very warm and friendly welcome awaits you at the Byre.

Most comfortable and clean accomodation, well-maintained - away from it all - with outdoor area to sit providing beautiful views. A great point from which to travel to the beautiful countryside of Kent and East Sussex .

An ideal location amongst the rolling countryside. Lots of walking available through the fields and the owners private woods - full details provided. The information 'pack' on the local area provided is endless, you could not ask for more, and the owners knowledge and assistance is excellent.

The local fresh fish is geat - fish and chips in Hastings a must! Lots of local places to eat and lots of local produce for sale in the area.

We would definately recommend this to our friends.

Goldige Wohnung mit sehr viel Grün drumherum, jederzeit wieder

  • 5 of 5
