This 2 bedroom apartment is furnished in a modern style with high quality marble finishes and air-conditioning. The lounge has television (Spanish), DVD/CD and a dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped including clothes washing machine and the balcony is ideal for relaxing with views of the large pool and mountains in the distance and has external lighting, table & chairs.

Ideal for summer (and winter season with mild temperatures) as right next to the marina. Being a few steps away from all amenities is a key attraction. Transfers from the airport can be arranged and everything is on your doorstep from the morning papers to an evening paella and glass of wine!

With berths for over 1000 yachts, Almerimar marina is one of the largest on the southern coast of Spain. Set against the mountain backdrop, the area is attracting many Spanish families as well as tourists. The marina area is the focus for all the local shops and the supermarket. There are also banks, car rental, shops, a large variety of restaurants from tasty Spanish cuisine such as Paella and Tapas, through seafood, Chinese, Italian, English all served in great surroundings overlooking the marina. Beaches are found on both sides of the marina with Chiringuitos on the promenade for food and drinks by the sea. The new 5* hotel is also worth a visit for drinks or lunch and there is also a spa as well as the top class golf course and driving range.

El Ejido: (10 minutes by car/bus) Thriving town with shops and resturants and a popular market every Wednesday (except the last Wednesday of each month). The tourist office can provide information of activities and attractions in the area and is located next to Copo supermarket on the highway junction from Almerimar to El Ejido

Day Trips & Activities: (Within a couple of hours in the surrounding areas) For inland Spain - The city of Granada and the famous Alhambra can be seen in a days trip, as can the Alpujarras valley, with it's charming villages and the famous cave houses at Guadix on the Granada Road.

Early in the year you can also ski at Sol y Nieve in the Sierra Nevada

For families - experience Mini Hollywood - Go Wild in the West and visit the Tabernas Desert, home of the Spaghetti Westerns and famous for films such as 'The good, the bad and the ugly' and even dress up as a cowboy for the day!

For nature lovers - explore the Cabo de Gata Nature Park an hour away by car - the largest coastal nature reserve in Andalucia. The mountain range of Cabo de Gata has a volcanic appearance and falls sharply into the sea. There are many hidden coves and secluded beaches.

For sports enthusiasts - the Gary Player designed golf course is a few minutes walk from the apartment set against the mountain backdrop .

Roquetas de Mar (20 minutes by car) is a very popular large resort with a fine, uncrowded beach stretching for many miles. Although modern, it still preserves its classic Spanish charm and authentic atmosphere. With many excellent restaurants serving mouthwatering Spanish specialties, as well as lively bars, shops and a bustling fishing harbour, Roquetas has something for everyone including children. For kids, the Waterpark is a favourite.

Golf, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, cycling, horse riding, scuba diving are all available in the surrounding Almeria area.

Almerimar Marina: With berths for over 1000 yachts, Almerimar marina a few kilometers away is one of the largest on the southern coast of Spain. There are also banks, car rental, shops, a growing variety of restaurants from good value tasty Spanish cuisine such as Paella and Tapas, through seafood, Chinese, Italian, English all served in great surroundings overlooking the marina. Beaches can be found on both sides of the marina with chiringuitos along the promenade for drinks and food by the sea.

Almeria Area: Unknown to most people, the ancient Andalusian province of Almeria, with its 200 miles of virtually undeveloped coastline, lies in the south-east corner of Spain, less than 100 miles from the coast of North Africa. Enjoying the warmest and sunniest climate in the whole of Europe, with mid-day temperatures in January averaging 69°F and in July and August 99°F at least, and with the sun shining for more than 320 days in the year. This historic 'forgotten province' is slowly awakening to the possibilities of tourism, bringing in amenities and facilities for holiday makers, whilst still remaining one of the most charming and unspoilt regions in Southern Spain. The city of Almeria (30 minutes by car) is located at the foot of a mountain range which is crowned by the magnificent Alcazaba, an Arab fortress built by the Calph of Cordoba.With berths for over 1000 yachts.

Golf: The Gary Player designed championship course in Almerimar is only a 5 minute walk from the apartmeent and is considered one of the best challenges of golf in Spain. Golfers can look forward to a course of wide fairways, with a profusion of trees and plants which afford plenty of shade and, at the same time, serve as natural hazards, protecting the fast greens. The course was designed by Rob Kirby and Gary Player, and consists of 18 holes with a par of 72. It has well positioned sand traps and water features on five hole, one of the most distinctive being the short 12th which includes a challenging island green. There is an additional 9 hole course available as well as an attractive bar and restaurant area.

There are also 2 further pleasant and challenging golf courses within a 20 minute drive from the resort, Playa Serena in Roquetas de Mar and La Envía Golf situated in the hills close to the Almeria–Adra highway.

The city of Granada with the stunning Alhambra palace and winter skiing at Sol y Nieve in the Sierra Nevada are within 2 hours drive.

The perfect location for a chilled getaway.

Having just stayed here, I can safely recommend this apartment and resort to anybody.

The apartment was great (lovely marble floors, air conditioning, comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, nice balcony for breakfast and relaxing with wine during the evening).

The pool was always clean, the guests respectful, and it did not suffer from insects flying about as it is located on the first floor, also offering some seclusion from the street.

The location is brilliant, right in the heart of the 'Almerimar' marina. The local supermarket is just around the corner, and is very well stocked. There are loads of local bars, and restaurants to choose from (both Spanish & English speaking), the main 'square' being the hub during the evenings. Special mention should go to the excellent food and service at El Capitan, and CK's bar.

The beach bars along the front of the Playa de Poniente & Playa de Leviante are really cool. You can walk or cycle along the promenade dropping in for a quick sangria or cervesas, and some excellent tapas.

There is bike hire available at the windsurf shop just past the main square, at very reasonable prices. Christian was charming and gave us everything we needed to have a lovely day out on the bikes.

The golf course (the pro shop is about 7 minutes walk from the apartment, or 2 minutes in the car) has been extended to 27 holes, and is immaculate, with driving range, and pro shop inside the Golf Almerimar Hotel.

There is a hypermarket too 5 minutes drive up the road, as well as Go karting, near El Ejido. Roquetas de mar is a sort drive away, and has more great beaches, and a water park ('Mario Park') with some great water slides.

Although I did not attempt it this time, the Sierra del Gador massif towers over the coast. Any hikers should purchase an IGN map, or find a tour guide. I will certainly climb the Morrón de Gádor 2250m the next time I visit.

There is some nice walking along the promenade to the small village of Bano, with the Castillo Guardias Viejas (Castle built by the Moors) and the

Punta Entinas-Sabinar nature reserve which is right at the top of the marina, where you can see pink flamingos if you are lucky.

My family and I had a great week there. I just wish we had longer, and will definitely return.

Apartamento muy bien, agencia bastante mejorable

Nuestra estancia, en líneas generales estuvo bastante bien. No obstante, la agencia que se encarga de este apartamento trato de cobrarnos un coste adicional por la entrega de llaves (por no recogerlas antes de las 14h., dicho dato no se nos específico de manera correcta, y finalmente no se nos cobró).

Además la clave del wifi que nos facilitaron no era la correcta, tardando un día en facilitarnos la correcta. Además de esto, notificamos defectos en el apartamento (luces de algunas habitaciones), a los cuales hicieron caso omiso.

Por último, y lo que más nos disgustó, fue que a la hora de irnos del piso, la responsable de la agencia se presentó 10 min antes de la hora prevista, "ayudándonos a desalojar el apartamento" (saco nuestra comida de la nevera, cogio nuestras toallas de la terraza y otras muchas acciones en las que no tenía porque participar tocando nuestras cosas...).

Por otra parte, el apartamento es muy chullo, está a 3 min de la playa y tiene una piscina enorme. Además, el vecindario es tranquilo y agradable. También el apartamento está muy bien equipado con ventiladores, sombrilla y sillas para playa/piscina, etc. El Mercadona está al lado, pudiendo incluso ir andando, y hay un coviran debajo del bloque. Y para aparcar no hay ningún tipo de problema. Lo único es que algunos de los elementos del menaje no estaban muy limpios...

el sitio es tal y como aparece en las fotos es un sitio ideal para unas vacaciones tranquilas y de descanso las personas son encantadoras tienes de todo bares ,supermercados teiendas y todo esta muy cerca el puerto es precioso lo que digas de este lugar es poco es para ir y vivirlo yo si no pasa nada en poder volvere otra vez es un encanto de lugar
