Our two bedroom chalet style cottage has a wall of glass facing the bay and waterside deck. The great room is large with a cathedral ceiling. There is a queen sleep sofa in the great room, a cozy wood-stove for our brisk mornings or evenings, and plenty of room to relax. The kitchen is fully equipped with a wall oven, JennAir cooktop, and fridge (sorry no dishwasher). The bedrooms are upstairs and are adjoined. One has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. This is a great, quiet location right on the water. We are a short 20-30 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We are five miles from Ellsworth and all your shopping needs.

Beautiful vacation destination
My husband and I stayed at the lovely boat house for our honeymoon. Pictures portray exactly how the house and view looks. Hoeing and Heidi were awesome at getting back to you promptly if you had any questions. The fall leaves were gorgeous. Only about a 30 minute drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park making it nice to see the attractions, but still be more secluded. We came at the end of the tourist season, so some things were closed down already, but wasn’t overly crowded which was nice. Had a wonderful time, and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again.
Beautiful little place right by the water and close to Acadia National Park!
My husband, dog, and I enjoyed our stay at the boathouse, especially the glass windows and gorgeous view of the water and fall foliage! If it were a little warmer out, we would've been able to enjoy the cute outdoor space a little more, but we still had the opportunity to enjoy the view from the hammock after a day of hiking! We definitely used the woodstove during the chilly nights we had.
We stayed at the boathouse to enjoy the area, especially Acadia National Park! The boathouse is within 30 mins to most areas of Acadia National Park and is also close to Bar Harbor and even closer to the cute town of Ellsworth. We had a blast exploring what the area had to offer, and then relaxing back at the boathouse after. The owners are responsive and helpful. We really appreciate dog-friendly places like this! We would definitely stay here again. -Katie & Aaron
Beautiful spot, great vacation!
I loved staying at the boathouse. The house was perfect, right on the bay with a deck and wall of windows facing the water and the western sky. Amazing sunsets and foliage. The owners were great, responded to all my questions quickly and completely. Wonderful stay, will definitely be back next year!!
Beautiful & convenient location to explore an amazing area!
Beautiful, waterfront location - near everything (Acadia, restaurants, grocery) yet so quiet & peaceful. If you are looking for starry night skies, the gentle sound of the waves & gorgeous sunset views, look no further. The cottage is no-frills, but is clean, comfortable & well-stocked (kitchen etc.). Be sure to bring your own towels and linens (luckily we remembered) & consider buying /bringing bottled water as well as the water tasted somewhat salty to us. We would definitely come back!
We had a wonderful time at the boathouse. It is close to Acadia and we enjoyed the view from the house.
A special location with sunset views
Beautiful spot! Great sunsets, tides, birds, peaceful views. Owners were very supportive. The place is cozy, not elegant (Fine with us). Bedrooms are upstairs but only bathroom is down steep stairs. Be aware if that’s a problem for you. And read the fine print— you’re supposed to bring towels and bed linens. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Our boat house is located on the Union River Bay, facing westward which gives you picturesque sunsets. We are only 5 miles from Ellsworth shopping and less than a half hour drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
