This villa has been lovingly converted from an original small Portuguese holding. Both of the original dwellings have been converted into one luxury villa. The property stands in 13'000M of its own land which is covered with many trees including Ceder, various fruit & olive trees. There are outbuildings & various paths winding down to its own lake frontage & pontoon where the crystal clear water is perfect for swimming, fishing & many other water sports. Just 15 min drive is the UNESCO town of Tomar, with its famous Templar Knight's, Convent de Cristo, castle, from 1160 & many cobbled streets. In just over an hour you can be in the amazing capital, Lisbon, or in only 40 min exploring the 160 km of the wonderful silver coast. The villa itself is located in a small friendly village which is off the beaten track, but in two minutes drive you are in the main village of Serra, with its local bars, shops & butchers, etc. WiFi is available with the use of a dongle and local Sim, or free WiFi is available 2 mins drive in the Cafes in the Village of Serra.

Location Location Location !
Away from daily pressures of life, surrounded by nature, where nobody can find you unless you want them to !
We have had many villa holidays over the years. If you are reading this, I am sure you have too, because this is well off any beaten track that I have ever heard of. And, no matter how good, they never seem to quite match up to your expectations, do they?
Well, let me assure you right now - this place will defy and exceed your expectations. Spectacularly so. Incredibly spacious and well equipped, beautifully finished, with the most wonderful views over the lake and a pool that would be the envy of most hotels, never mind villas. In a wonderfully tranquil spot.
We were a bit concerned about finding the place from Lisbon Airport (an hour and 20 minutes away). Don't be. The route until the last couple of miles is straightforward, and the owners' excellent little map did the rest.
At the end of the journey, a delightfully sleepy little village (Serra) with a 7 day shop, butchers and friendly bar cafes with prices that make you think you have gone back to the 1980's. And nearby is the town of Tomar - an absolute revelation with its lovely riverside setting, mediaeval town filled with narrow cobbled streets and excellent restaurants, all topped by the most magnificent castle.
If you have got this far in your search, and have read this far with this review, then look no further. Book it, relax, and enjoy a truly special experience in this beautiful and tranquil place.
Wow! Three adults and four kids totally loved it! Great villa , great views , lots to do and oh so easy to do nothing and really chill out. Pool, lake and traditional bread oven which gave hours of entertainment and some really nice pizzas if I do say so myself.
Near by towns are lovely, shopping and eating out a real treat that didn't break the bank.
Amazing views from the villa, with total peace and quiet.
Can't wait to go back!
Stayed here with my sister, brother in law and the 4 children over Easter 2014. I have to say this villa was fantastic!!! It was spotlessly clean, massive inside and extremely comfortable. Its location was peaceful and idyllic! The outlook was stunning with the sun setting over the lake! I felt like a movie star...We all had such fun swimming in the pool and lake and enjoyed a glass of wine on the huge balconies. We even made our own pizza and cooked it in the old clay oven by the pool. The worst thing for us was having to come home. I really can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back next year.
We stayed here for 2 weeks (4 adults, 4 children) - and we all absolutely loved it. The villa is luxurious, very spacious and very clean. The views down to the lake are absolutely spectacular - again, as another reviewer said, the photos don't really do it justice.
The stroll to the lake was beautiful with the vines and fruit trees, and the kids all really enjoyed fishing and jumping into the lake.
The property is incredibly secluded, and very quiet - ideal for a relaxing holiday.
The weather was absolutely beautiful for the entire 2 weeks.
I would highly recommend coming to stay here!
We stayed for 2 weeks but could happily have spent longer. The views are absolutely breath-taking over the lake and hills. The villa is in a very private location which is perfect for ourselves as we wanted a quiet family holiday where leaving the villa for a day out would be an option rather than a must. We took our 2 children, 9 months and 2 years; it was perfect for them, although we did have to bring our own cot etc, they loved the pool and terrace with the assurance of always having somewhere shaded for them to play. The lake is only a short walk away, even my 2 year old managed it. The lake itself is absolutely gorgeous to swim in. There is a jetty which helps getting into the lake (there is some quick-sand like mud in the shallows of some bits of the lake), I'm not sure if this jetty belonged to the villa but it was beautiful sitting on it dangling our feet in the water watching the world go by.
All in all we will definitely be coming back in a few years if we can... it will be brilliant to see it again, especially to see how you develop the garden/ vine yard - we did a lot of exploring in it! In the mean time we have recommended it to other families looking for a place to get away from it all.
When we arrived, the first thing we noticed was that the photos on the website do not do this property justice. The website shows a beautiful property, and a perfect place for a quiet family holiday, away from hustle and bustle. In reality, it is much much better than this. We woke up to beautiful views, in a perfectly private location. The kids filled the day between the good sized pool and the games room. The house was spacious, and well layed out to suit everyone.
A lovely place to have a relaxing holiday. If you want comfort and privacy, i would highly recommend this property.
This new villa is set on the banks overlooking the stunning Costelo de Bode, Portugals second largest mass of crystal clear fresh water, with many amenities such as fishing, skiing, swimming and kayaking.
Tomar is a charming and historically outstanding town on the banks of the Nabão River. It is dominated by the magnificent 12th-century Templar castle containing one of the country's most significant and impressive monuments, the Convent of Christ (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). Lisbon is just over an hour by car and the stunning silver coast with beautiful villages like Nazare , Figueira da Foz and the numerous small hidden beaches no more than 45 min away. The charming village of Serra is just 2 min by car & has a couple of local bars, cafe, post office, convenience store , butchers and bakers producing fresh produce daily. An 18 hole golf course is only 50 min drive, with horse riding & carting within 30 min, also a couple of good local Adega's close by.
