Luxurious newly renovated detached 4 bedroom dormer-style holiday home in the idyllic Burren seaside/fishing village of Ballyvaughan on the shores of Galway Bay.

Located in the heart of the village (in a private cul de sac), within walking distance of all local amenities (shops/pubs/restaurants etc) and 5-10 minute drive to the local blue-flag beaches.

Open-plan spacious fully-equipped home furnished to the highest specification. Boasting a state of the art kitchen, separate utility with washer/dryer, oil-fired central heating, and a large vaulted living/sun-room (with open solid fuel fireplace) looking onto a beautifully mature private garden.

4 Bedrooms: 1 x Master Double (en suite & TV); 1 x Double; 1 x Triple (Double + Single); and 1 x Twin (2 x Single)

3 Bathrooms: 1 x main bathroom with bath/shower; and 2 x shower-rooms (power showers).

[Please Note: Weekly Rentals only (i.e. nothing shorter.. no weekend or long-weekend rentals..)]

Wireless Broadband accessible (for extra/supplement fee @ €35 extra per week).

Rental commencement and departure times: The weekly rental period (Saturday to Saturday) begins at 4pm on the Saturday of arrival and ends at 10.30am on the Saturday of departure. All other arrangements must be made on request. The key collection/drop-off point will be arranged at the house itself.

Refuse: Refuse bins (1 x Dry-recycle and 1 x Wet waste separate) are located outside the house. Refuse is collected weekly.

Lovely property. Perfect for family in one of Ireland's most beautiful places.

We stayed in the house for a week with our 3 young kids and with various family and friends dropping in and out. The place is lovely. Very up to date, clean and stylish. The garden is generous and the location is quiet and safe. Ballyvaughan is the most unspoiled village in Clare and a great base for The Cliffs, Lahinch, Galway and Fanore. We spent the week swimming, eating and fishing off the rocks at The Flats. Recommend highly.

Perfect home base for exploring Ireland!

The owners made this a memorable experience from the first time we contacted them until the time we left them as our new dear friends. This house has everything in it except for you and your clothes. We loved walking over to the pubs and restaurants in town or walking to the beach. The owners even gave us a little touch of Ireland by leaving Irish Spring soap in the shower. We rented this property for two weeks and split the time between our family and our brother's family. We recommend this property to anyone looking for quiet nights and easy access to the Wild Atlantic Way. Thank you, Brian and family for making our visit so memorable.

Perfect Stay in the Burren

We rented this home for an extended weekend stay, where family from England, Ireland, the US, and Canada all got together. There were 6 adults and 4 children (3, aged 4 and one under 2) who stayed in this cottage. We loved the location, close to the farmers market, spar, and local pubs. We most enjoyed a morning walk down to the bay to feed the donkeys carrots and treats. The house was quite lovely and well equipped for any cooking or food prep we needed to do. The house was well maintained, clean and had a lovely (fairy) garden where the children loved playing hide and seek. Bathrooms and Beds were well appointed and quite comfy. I would highly recommend this cottage for your stay in The Burren. Balleyvaughn is a lovely quaint village and a perfect spot to ground you as you explore both County Clare and County Galway. There are so many things to experience in the Burren and the cottage is a close distance to all of them: Black head for dolphins, Fanore is a lovely beach, Ailwee Cave is a short drive as is many of the monolithic tombs that are scattered about in the Burren. Also a short drive is Galway. We actually stayed for a few days in Galway, but the cottage was close enough to make it an easy commute for the day if you were so inclined. Would book it again in a heartbeat!

The Perfect House in the Perfect Location

I cannot recommend a vacation in Ballyvaughan and a stay at this home enough. We were a group of ten, 8 stayed at the house and 2 were at the Ballyvaughan Lodge. The house is open and airy and feels much bigger than it shows in the photos. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the yard, beautifully landscaped. Perfect location as we were a 3 minute walk to stores, a Burren Walk, pubs and a bus stop. I cannot recommend this house enough!!

Ideal house for family vacation

Our family of 5 stayed here for a week in June 2013. Brian was terrific to work with and the house is immaculate and well maintained. The four bedrooms gave us all plenty of space to spread out, and everything in the house is new and in perfect working condition. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, glasses and dishes and there were plenty of towels and bedding. Ballyvaughan was a great town to base our stay in as it was very pretty and central to touring the west. The town had a good market just a 5 minute walk from the house, pubs and restaurants, a tourist info center and a lovely view onto the bay. Brian was available by email and phone before and during our stay and promptly answered all our questions. We had a perfect family vacation and would recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit the Aran Islands, Galway, the Connemara, the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren from a very central location in a lovely town.

Ballyvaughan is nestled on the southern shore of Galway Bay, and is one of the most beautiful and popular villages in the Burren (County Clare).

It is famous for its scenic walks around the Burren region (limestone hills/mountains), and is a real treasure for walkers/hikers and botanists alike.

Also (given its history as a fishing-port) there are plenty of water sports/activities available in the region, and boat hire is available locally for both leisure and fishing expeditions.

The many local attractions include the famous Ailwee Caves, Newtown Castle, the Burren College of Art, Mortello tower, the Flaggy-Shore walk, Dunguaire Castle (banquets), Bishops-Quarter beach, and Fanore beach.

Ballyvaughan village itself is well serviced by many beautiful local traditional pubs, shops and restaurants.

It is in close proximity to the world reknown Cliffs of Moher and the championship (links) golf club at Lahinch, and is also within driving distance of Galway, Ennis and Limerick cities.

Golf: The world famous Lahinch Golf Club (seaside/coastal/links course) is ~20 minutes drive from Ballyvaughan.
