About Stuart Carmichael

I grew up in Glasgow & Edinburgh and my daughter went to Edinburgh University - for 7 years taking 2 degrees - and she now lives in Edinburgh with her partner - so we use the apartment as a 'home from home' to go and visit as we now live over 5 hours away in Sheffield in England.

Stuart Carmichael purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Stuart Carmichael chose Edinburgh

The whole area is vibrant and developing despite the recession and the local people are all so friendly - we couldn't resist Leith !

It has bars and bistros and cosy pubs and 'posh' restaurants but also takeaways and local shops and national supermarkets.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is relatively new - less than 15 years old - and was in a quiet location with grass, trees and free parking to the front and rear.

It just seems ideal for local living or popping upto town.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We visited this gorgeous flat for my 40th birthday and were delighted with the gift of flowers and chocolates - a real surprise !

Superb location - really warm and cosy - just like it says in the advert.

Everything exceeded our expectations and we have recommended flat to our friends.

See you again soon ! Gerry from Maidenhead

Neat and clean property. Cosy lounge and all equipment that we required.

Comfy bed.

Close to Leith walk and shore. Nice walk walk to centre of town but plenty of buses if you didn't want to walk.

Stuart the owner was always available to answer questions prior to our arrival. Extremely prompt and clear.

We enjoyed our stay in Leith and if we return to Edinburgh again, we would stay again

Had a lovely stay. The apartment was excellent: clean, cosy and relaxing. All amenities and attractions in Edinburgh and Leith extremely easy to access. Situated in lovely area, safe, quiet and trendy. Owner helpful with information regarding our stay and would recommend a stay here. Would definitely love to stay again when we revisit.

two words "great flat

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 2 couples arrived, collected the key without any problems from the local pub. Having parking right outside the door was tremendous and made for easy packing and unpacking the car. The flat is a wonderfully fitted out space with everything that you could require, clean, neat and tidy, and situated perfectly for getting out and about, to the Castle, Royal Mile and the dock area. Shops are handy, buses around the corner and plenty of choices for pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. There was plenty of information about the flat and the area and how to get around, we particularly liked the little mud map.. Stuart was great, helpful and very quick to respond to any questions. We loved our stop here, but wished it was for a longer time. Thank you for allowing us to stay, we felt very at home and comfortable.

hote à l'écoute et appartement fonctionnel

  • 4 of 5

Owner's Response: Hello & thank you for your review - I have arranged for water problems to be resolved ! - the shower works independently from the boiler - the cooker hood is working - there are 2 switches for it - did you maybe miss one ? - hope you had a great time in Edinburgh !

Excellent flat, great location! We would definitely stay at this flat again!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with my husband's teenage son, stayed in this flat for 7 nights while attending the World Lacrosse U19 Women's Championships to watch our niece and Team Canada play. The flat was perfect for us and met all our needs. It was very spacious, clean and nice to come home to and relax in after being out watching a game and touring about. We had rented a car and although traffic was busy in Edinburgh we found it quite easy to navigate the streets using iMaps on our iPhones. It was great to have the use of a free parking spot at the flat. Also the location made it very easy for us to travel out of Edinburgh to visit Sterling and Doune Castles and to Glentress / Peebles for some mountain biking. Leith is an excellent neighbourhood with some great little restaurants that are not touristy like the ones you get along the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. All in all a great flat in a great location (with Tescos and Asda close by for groceries) and nice and quiet. Stuart was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. The icing on the cake was that Team Canada beat the USA 9-8 and won the Gold medal!

Property address is 19 / Flat 3 (19/3) Pattison Street Leith Edinburgh EH6 7HF. (First Floor).

Just behind the park called Leith Links (where the game of golf (or kolf) was supposedly invented.

This bright, safe, comfortable, first floor flat is on a quiet cobbled back street (known as setts in Scotland) with easy private resident parking outside.

450m to Edinburgh cosmopolitan waterfront known as 'The Shore' with loads of trendy bars, cafes, bistros, pubs & restaurants.

Across the park (400m) is a large supermarket & there is a local shop within 200 metres for bread, milk, chocolate & anything else you may need.

Approx. 1 mile away is the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre & the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed there.

5 minutes on a bus or a 20 minute walk up Leith Walk (depending how long you linger to look in all the shop windows on the way - or visit any of the 30 or so bars you will pass by) is Princes Street & the Castle & all of the City of Edinburgh attractions.

Other Activities: Rugby at Murrayfield Stadium and Football at Hibernian or Hearts the two Edinburgh Clubs

Golf: Craigentinny a public course is nearby only a couple of miles away. Good course - fairly flat but with some challenging holes and hills.

Ski: Man made ski slope at Penicuick can be seen from nearby and attracts many folk from near and far.
