Ideal for touring & excellently situated for Town, University & Rugby

A modern first floor apartment with a lovely high specification interior, consisting of;

Entrance hall, lounge/dining room & fireplace (approx 5m x 4m) also fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer & washing machine (3m x 3m)

2 x double bedrooms, 1x ensuite shower-room. Both inc fitted wardrobes. Bedroom 1 = 4m x 3m, Bedroom 2 = 3m x 3m

Within 300m of 'The Shore' in Leith, with modern cafes, bars, bistros & restaurants

The famous Princes Street is within a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute bus ride from easily accessible bus stops at the Foot of Leith Walk (Bus to town £1.30 single or an all day pass is £ 3.50).

From Prince's Street there is easy access to: Waverley Station, Castle, Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, Museums & all tourist attractions & universities

This could be your ideal base for your holidays! - enjoy

Nearest local pub: The Bowlers Rest, a locals pub, full of friendly Leith people and with a choice of over 50 scotch whiskies ! is only 50 paces from the flat front door.

Having said that, the flat, on the first floor is secure and quiet & lovely & warm !

To the front is a cobbled street (called setts in Scotland) & to the rear there are private gardens with parking for the flat available to either the front or rear.

Opposite the flat is Georgian Antiques with 4 floors of antiques - I bet you have never seen so many grandfather clocks in one place !

Behind that is Leith Links - where the game of Golf (or Kolf) was invented and there is still 9 holes to go round !

All of this is available to you......just go and join in and enjoy it !

Local and International Sport: Edinburgh is home to International Rugby Union in Scotland and games are played at Murrayfield stadium to the West side of Edinburgh city centre.

The flat has availability for rugby fans for the 3 weekends in November for the Autumn tests & for 6 Nations Rugby.

The owner is an avid rugby union fan & would be pleased to assist with bookings for games & possibly supply of tickets to bona fide & responsible fans.

Also there are two Edinburgh football teams, Hibernian (Hibs) based in Leith approx 1 mile from the flat and also Heart of Midlothian (Hearts) based in Gorgie near the rugby stadium.

I grew up in Glasgow & Edinburgh and my daughter went to Edinburgh University - for 7 years taking 2 degrees - and she now lives in Edinburgh with her partner - so we use the apartment as a 'home from home' to go and visit as we now live over 5 hours away in Sheffield in England.

The whole area is vibrant and developing despite the recession and the local people are all so friendly - we couldn't resist Leith !

It has bars and bistros and cosy pubs and 'posh' restaurants but also takeaways and local shops and national supermarkets.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is relatively new - less than 15 years old - and was in a quiet location with grass, trees and free parking to the front and rear.

It just seems ideal for local living or popping upto town.

This will be the 3rd time I've stayed at this flat and plan on returning again! Great location and great accommodations! What more could you ask for? Oh yeah the great local pub and the great and very helpful owner!!! I love Leith!!

Great apartment in a vibrant area. Ideal for a break in Edinburgh.

Loved this apartment. I lived in Leith for a while 40 years ago (yikes!) and have always loved the sense of community. The revamp of the docks area which give visitors an amazing choice of venues for a drink or an evening meal hasn't diminished that feeling and it's still my favourite part of the city. Stuart's spacious apartment is ideally located, clean and well equipped with the two shower rooms being a bonus in the morning. Hope to return for a future visit.

A good base for visiting Edinburgh.

Four adults and a baby lived quite happily in this 2 bed roomed apartment for a week, which is very well situated for visits to Edinburgh. The accommodation was clean and although there were a couple of issues with equipment the owner has been very helpful towards making our stay enjoyable. Free parking and a nearby dog walk has been a definite bonus.

I would recommend this apartment to friends and family.

We spent a couple of days in Edinburgh at the Museum of Scotland and the Parliament. We also toured the royal yacht Britannia which is within walking distance. All were interesting.

We ate locally at The Ship on the Shore and Cafe Tatine - both good food and the latter being dog friendly.

Property was neat and clean as sdvrttised. Bus transport to Edinburgh was simple and convenient. Stuart provided many extras like bikes, golf clubs and things to do info. We would come back.

A great place to stay when visiting Edinburgh

My husband, our adult son and myself stayed in this apartment for 3 nights. We were very happy with the two comfortable bath rooms and the excellent wifi signal! A spacious and cosy living room and a functional kitchen that provided everything we needed. We even found there some universal plugs that were very useful for us, because our plugs were not suitable for our computer adapters. We came by car, so we also liked the fact that it was quite easy to park the car - either in front of the building or on the private parking at the back. Everything was very tidy and the owner gave us a lot of information on beforehand and answered quickly to our texted questions during our stay.

Two remarks: 1° the toaster did not work very well, it sometimes burnt our toasts and made the smoke alarm go off a few times, so we had to stay in the kitchen to watch it. And 2°: we had hoped to use the bicycles, but they were really too small for us. Maybe you should mention the size of the bicycles.

Modern, excellent space for family, clean and well equipted kitchen

Excellent value. Easy access to Edinburgh by bus from Leith. Very easy to get out of Edinburgh area for day trips by car. Excellent communication with Stuart; lots of info in the flat for activities. We would stay again!

Just behind the park called Leith Links (where the game of golf (or kolf) was supposedly invented.

This bright, safe, comfortable, first floor flat is on a quiet cobbled back street (known as setts in Scotland) with easy private resident parking outside.

450m to Edinburgh cosmopolitan waterfront known as 'The Shore' with loads of trendy bars, cafes, bistros, pubs & restaurants.

Across the park (400m) is a large supermarket & there is a local shop within 200 metres for bread, milk, chocolate & anything else you may need.

Approx. 1 mile away is the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre & the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed there.

5 minutes on a bus or a 20 minute walk up Leith Walk (depending how long you linger to look in all the shop windows on the way - or visit any of the 30 or so bars you will pass by) is Princes Street & the Castle & all of the City of Edinburgh attractions.

Other Activities: Rugby at Murrayfield Stadium and Football at Hibernian or Hearts the two Edinburgh Clubs

Golf: Craigentinny a public course is nearby only a couple of miles away. Good course - fairly flat but with some challenging holes and hills.

Ski: Man made ski slope at Penicuick can be seen from nearby and attracts many folk from near and far.

There are 3 sets of golf clubs in the apartment including trollies, brollies and balls and tees. (Municipal course (Craigentinny - good and fairly flat too !) within approx. 1 mile £ 39.00 for two persons for 18 holes ie approx £ 20.00 each. There are 4 x bikes in our own bike store to the rear of the property. Clothes can be dried in the hallway on the hidden/ retractable clothes line or placed in the very warm boiler room in the hallway area. Brollies are stored there too - for when the weather isn't too kind - or borrow the golf brollies. Loads of info on things to do and places to go - you should never be bored !
