About Stuart Carmichael

I grew up in Glasgow & Edinburgh and my daughter went to Edinburgh University - for 7 years taking 2 degrees - and she now lives in Edinburgh with her partner - so we use the apartment as a 'home from home' to go and visit as we now live over 5 hours away in Sheffield in England.

Stuart Carmichael purchased this apartment in 2007

Why Stuart Carmichael chose Edinburgh

The whole area is vibrant and developing despite the recession and the local people are all so friendly - we couldn't resist Leith !

It has bars and bistros and cosy pubs and 'posh' restaurants but also takeaways and local shops and national supermarkets.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is relatively new - less than 18 years old - and is in a quiet location with grass, trees and free parking to the front and rear.

It just seems ideal for local living or popping upto town.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We visited this gorgeous flat for my 40th birthday and were delighted with the gift of flowers and chocolates - a real surprise !

Superb location - really warm and cosy - just like it says in the advert.

Everything exceeded our expectations and we have recommended flat to our friends.

See you again soon ! Gerry from Maidenhead

Adorable flat in great neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

We loved our little flat in Leith during our recent trip to Scotland. It was great being able to park right in front of the unit and so easy to get to the City Centre. I loved the vibe of the neighborhood too.

Flat was very nice - would have given 5 stars except shower was problematic. I am American and it took me some time to figure it out the box and how it worked - maybe there were directions and I didn't see them. The first night I just said screw it. Then when did figure it out, the water temperature kept changing.

I would though book the flat again. The Pros far outweighed the one con.

Also, we are Ian Rankin fans. Loved the book "Ian Rankin's Edinburgh."

Thanks Stuart!

Owner's Response: Hello - thank yiu for your kind review and i am sorry you had a shower temperature problem - with it only being a wee flat it does mean if somebody else runs snother hot tap whilst you are showering the water pressure drops & so does the temperature - that said - i am glad you found Leith to be good - i live 250 miles away and visit Ian Rankin land as often as i can ! - hope to see you again - regards - Stuart

Nice Flat Decent Area

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our 3 nights at Stuarts apartment. It is more roomy than it appears in the photos - the photos don't really do it justice. There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room. It was well equipped and there is lots of free parking spaces outside. Leith is okay with a few decent restaurants, Britannia and a new shopping centre. Edinburgh centre is a 15 minutes bus trip away. All in all very happy and would stay here again.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Stuart's communication was excellent. The apartment was very clean and suited our needs perfectly. Ross, at the Bowlers Rest was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

The area is peaceful with restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

The only negative was that our trip wasn't long enough. We will return soon, hopefully!

Great apartment in a very interesting part of Edinburgh

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was comfortable, warm and well-equipped. Leith is a fascinating area, with a beautiful waterfront, and lots of nice cafes and restaurants. It was easy to walk into the centre of town from the apartment and there were also good bus services to the centre. It was nice to come back to a quieter part of town after all of the hustle and bustle of the centre. The apartment had everything we needed and check-in was easy. I would definitely stay again if I was visiting Edinburgh.
