Beautiful views of ocean and private
The only thing was it would have known ahead the tap water was not good to drink. Would have picked up more water (the 2 gallons furnished) was not enough to make coffee, drink and use for pet. Other than that a very nice place
Classic Downeast Maine Cottage
Everything about this ocean front cabin is ideal for anyone who wants to just sit back on the porch and watch the tide come and go. It is also ideal if you want to do more than sit. Kayaks can be launched out the front door into Gouldsboro Bay and wandering along the shore at sunset is special. The cabin was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly. The kitchen worked well and there was plenty of hot water for showers. The extensive collection of books, games and activities in the cabin give the feel of many years of wonderful vacations in this cabin.
Studeben is close to Schoodic Point/Acadia National Park and there are plenty of places to buy lobsters and other seafood. This is an ideal place to stay, in our favorite part of Maine.

Absolutely amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!
We stayed here for our yearly Acadia trip and it was perfect. We spent our days exploring and hiking in the national park and we spent our evenings here cooking dinner and watching the sunset. It was everything we thought it would be and more. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing getaway. The cottage surpassed our expectations and we couldn't be happier with our stay. We will definitely be returning next year! Thanks so much to Amy and Pam for everything!
The view is wonderful especially during high tide. The stars at night are stunning and the cabin is a great place to unplug and relax.
Picture perfect sunsets, quiet, comfortable.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our time at this cabin on the water. The sunsets and porch swing alone are worth the reservation. Our family of four was very comfortable in a bedroom and pull out couch. The kitchen was outfitted with all the needs. The tidal pools at low tide were a blast for the kids who found crabs and periwinkles. Trips to Acadia (both Schoodic and Mt. Desert) did not disappoint. Pam and Amy were wonderful hosts and great communicators. We look forward to a return trip!
Secluded, quiet, beautiful
This cabin has everything you could want for a quiet getaway on the water. Our family spent hours walking the beach and climbing the rocks. The best thing we packed was knee high rubber boots, which allowed us to roam the beach at low tide. We saw porpoise, sea lions, and eagles while enjoying breakfast on the enclosed porch. It couldn't have been a more perfect week and I would recommend this spot for anyone that wants to get away from the busy atmosphere of acadia. Our favorite adventures were the scoodic peninsula, Lubec, and McClellan park. The cabin had everything that we could have wanted. There were a few things that I packed, but were already at the cabin. They included towels, both bath and beach, a large lobster pot, camping chairs, and fans. It was the perfect getaway, and you will not regret stating here!!
