About Frazier Worth

We have lived here for about 20 years. We completed the Cottage in 2012. Jenny is a family physician. I am a teacher. We have 2 children, one recently graduated from college and the other in college.

Frazier Worth purchased this cottage in 1994

Why Frazier Worth chose Asheville Area

The Cottage is in a quiet pastoral, farming community. We like the privacy and peace we find here. We've spent a lot of time working on the gardens, flowers, and landscaping. You can pick raspberries in the morning to put on your cereal and have fresh lettuce on your sandwich at lunch.

What makes this cottage unique

The Cottage is our project. We designed it to be very comfortable for a couple. It is simple but elegant with everything you could need. There is a lot of light, front porch and deck, and internet.

Nice peaceful retreat, ideal for 2 people.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our short stay at this cabin. It was clean, well stocked and everything worked fine. Great location about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville yet just far enough out that you felt like you were out in the country. Only downside was that the sofa does not make into a sofa bed so my teenage son slept on the couch which he was to big for. Really more equipped for a couple.

Peaceful cottage retreat in bucolic setting

  • 5 of 5

Quiet cottage on beautiful property with heirloom apple trees, butterfly bushes, and a vegetable garden. Cabin looks out on a pasture in the back where horses graze. Owners live on property--friendly, not instrusive, very welcoming of our dog which was especially appreciated. The cabin is easily accessible to Asheville, Black Mountain, and Lake Lure.

Garden Charming Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from our trip; and wanted to share some info. with fellow travelers. It is wonderful to find a place who will accept your dog, please be a mindful pet owner though, this is someones property. The cottage has most everything you need, with the exception of AC downstairs, there is a unit upstairs. Unfortunately this was the hottest week the area has had, and it was a challenge to stay comfortable downstairs but it has plenty of fans, there are 2 porches to sit out. The owners are very tuned into the environment so hot water is solar heated from the main house and takes a few minutes to heat. A lovely setting, and fairly close to all that you need, groceries, gas, entertainment and big city life. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Refreshing Mountain Getaway

  • 4 of 5

This was the second time my husband and I have had the pleasure of staying at the Garden Cottage. This was our first time visiting during the Summer, and it was a nice reprieve from the heat in Charleston, South Carolina. The garden was alive with butterflies and birds during the day and the fireflies put on a beautiful display in the evenings.

The cottage did not disappoint. It was clean and equipped with all of the amenities we expected. The A/C unit upstairs kept us cool while we slept. The cooler air upstairs and the fans downstairs kept the cottage very comfortable day and night. We appreciate the cleanliness and the comforts the cottage offers. The convenient accessibility to the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville while staying off the beaten path is another reason why we enjoy staying at this property. The owners are also quick to respond to questions or give a" hello" if you cross paths in the garden. They are happy to accommodate, as best as they can, to the guests of the Garden Cottage.

Our visit was very enjoyable and relaxing, which is exactly what my husband and I needed. We were having such a good time on our trip that we asked if the Cottage was available an extra night. Happily, we were able to extend the trip and enjoy ourselves even longer!

I highly recommend this listing.

We are located 20 min SE of Asheville. Asheville sights include The Biltmore House, Blue Ridge Parkway(10 min. away), eccentric, vibrant downtown with shopping, music and excellent restaurants.

Closer to our home there are quiet country lanes for walking and beautiful countryside.

Asheville has become a fine dining destination with too many fine restaurants to count. We love to go out ourselves and we can guide you to many of the best restaurants. Asheville also has many local beer breweries, making Asheville a great place to sample the best of independent brewing. Downtown is alive until all hours of the night with many coffee shops and bars many of which offer entertainment.

We also enjoy hiking in the area or just going to a local swimming hole in a beautiful creek or one of several rivers in the area. Rafting and canoeing are easy options here, also biking on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Rock climbing is also available at nearby Chimney Rock State Park.
