So whether you want to relax in a quiet place or stroll down the Lakeside or go for a walk in the parks, Cuveglio is definitively the best destination for you to visit the northern Italy and particularly the Province of Varese so close to the Swiss border which gives it a global culture.
The place comes very handy in either winter or summer where you just want to have a short break for your winter holidays and enjoy a place which is not overcrowded like the major ski resorts in Europe but still offering some nice landscaping although you still need to do a bit of driving to reach the resorts!
By crossing the Lake Maggiore by ferry (and you can always board your car on it) from Laveno and easily reaching the port of Intra in a 20 minutes journey, you will swiftly go from Lombardy to Piedmont!
This is great because you will save yourself a big deal of time without going around the full length of the Lake!
And once you get to Intra, with your car, you are on your way to visit some of the natural beauties the area offers such as – the Toce Falls, the Borromee Islands, The Mottarone ski resort or the glamourous little Stresa where you can enjoy some nice local food and wine in a warm and cosy locanda!
The place also offers some good nightlife places for those who don’t mind enjoying a bit of after dark relaxing such as Discoteca Gilda in Sesto Calende which is 40km away but very easy to reach or more locally the Loft 53 Club in Germignaga which is 15km away.
Varese, being a medium size city, offers a wide range of clubs, restaurants, bars where you can enjoy an aperitivo, some music and some good food such as polenta or pizzoccheri.
Also, you can have a great sunset lakeside aperitivo at the Serenelle Beach Club in Luino.

It is strongly advised though (but this is quite common in this area) to rent a car as for all the countryside places you need to be able to drive to reach places because you cannot really rely on the public transport.
