Far from the Madding Crowd
This house is the last house on the road with the next stop being on top of the world! The view is amazing, the stone ruins a wonder and the sheep wandering through an absolute joy. The house accommodated 4 adults with ease. A perfect spot for painting or reading or writing...
Glengarriff is lovely and it is a convenient location from which to take day trips around SouthWest Ireland. I would definitely return!
Really happy you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for your kind words about our farm house! Kindest Regards, Cheryl Kenny
The White House on the Hill
We had a very relaxing stay at the Farmhouse Retreat outside of Glengarriff for 5 days. The sun room with views of the bay and surrounding countryside was wonderful. We loved seeing all the changes in the weather from up on the hill. It was fun to have all the animals and birds so close to the house. We truly felt like we were on an Irish farm including the stone ruins in the back yard. We were warmly meet on the main road by Donal and followed him up the windy road to the farmhouse. Donal explained all the workings of the house, and answered our questions about restaurants and things to do in the area. We had no issues with anything in the house during our stay. And the location was good to explore the Beara Peninsula and Sheep's Head Peninsula. Bantry was not far away to get groceries if need be. Make sure to take the Blue Pool Ferry to Garinish Island to see Ilnacullin and explore the Glengarriff Nature Preserve. We loved our stay at the White House and would come to Glenarriff if we ever come to Ireland again!
