Owner-managed, true ski in/out, access to Golf at "The Reserve", hot tub, Views!

If you are coming to Big Sky to enjoy the mountains, this home stands apart with the very best Moonlight Cowboy Heaven has to offer:

- Ski-in/ski-out - Step out the back door, then into your bindings and ski down a groomed run to the Iron Horse Lift. It does not get any easier to start skiing Big Sky and Moonlight Basin!

- Golf and the Moonlight Club -- This home provides the option for access to Moonlight Club for additional fees (not all homes in Moonlight have access to this membership). This access offers guests the rare opportunity to enjoy the facilities of the Moonlight Club during their stay including the private “Reserve” 18 hole golf course for an additional fee (see details below). From the home, you can walk down to the Clubhouse to access a pool, exercise room and restaurant. (Golf course is 10 min away by car).

- Million Dollar Cowboy Heaven Views -- This house sits up high above other homes facing south for spectacular panoramic views spanning the Spanish Peaks down to the Madison Range. These are some of the best views in Cowboy Heaven!

- Moonlight Mountain Home with Special Features - Appointed with luxurious “rustic Montana” decor, this home has the largest Mountain Home floor plan with the Master bedroom on the main floor (2600 sq. ft). It sits up high and is surrounded by forest in the back, so it is much more private than many other homes. With 3 BR + Loft and 4.5 bathrooms, it sleeps 8-10 comfortably. Different from most Cowboy Heaven homes, it has its own driveway to park an extra car or two away from the street. It also has a brand new, professional grade 8 pair boot drier in the ski room.

The Main Floor is surrounded with windows offering spectacular panoramic views. Soak in the splendor of the Spanish Peaks and gaze down the valley to the Madison Range. You will immediately know why they call it Big Sky!

The great room is designed to gather and nest with your family and friends. The room is anchored by a stone, floor-to-ceiling wood burning fire place and an entertainment system. Step outside onto the wrap around deck and you can enjoy the panorama from the private hot tub.

The kitchen is designed for luxurious efficiency and is appointed with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and all the amenities you need for gourmet meals. Adjacent to the kitchen is a powder room and ski room for your boots and clothes. Step out the back door, walk a few steps and you are onto the slopes or out for a hike!

Also on the Main floor is the Master Bedroom with a King bed. The Master has its own gas fireplace, full en suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower, a walk-in closet and private deck for Spanish Peaks views under the stars.

You access the home on the ground floor and step into an entry room with plenty of space for shoes, boots and winter clothes. There are two bedrooms on this floor, perfect for a second family or the kids. Bedroom 2 has a four bunk beds and en suite bathroom including shower. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed with an optional twin trundle and en suite bathroom with tub/shower. A laundry room with washer/dryer and single car garage are also on this floor.

Upstairs from the Main floor is a spacious loft (Bedroom 4) with a pullout KING bed and a full bathroom. There is also a pullout twin bed. It is a perfect area to send the kids to hang out and play games.

Special Note - This home is under new ownership effective June, 2016. All dishes, glassware, table settings, linens, pillows were replaced in July. New, professionally selected furniture in the living room, dining room and loft has been installed as of December 2016. During November 2017 the ski/boot room was remodeled with custom shelving/cubbies to accommodate all the gear for each guest. There is bench to provide comfortable seating while you put on your boots after they have been warmed in the professional boot heating system. Please let us know if you have questions about the upcoming upgrades!

Moonlight Club Access: This Mountain Home possesses a full golf membership (not all homes in Moonlight have this membership) and therefore offers its guests the option of full access to the Moonlight Club for an additional fee during the course of their stay ($100 per day per immediate family/for each day of stay for Winter 2018). These fees are independently controlled by the Moonlight Club and are subject to change without notice, so if you are interested please contact us to ensure you are informed with the most current information, costs, priviledges and any restrictions. If you would like to take advantage of this privilege, you will register and pay at the membership services desk in the Moonlight lodge. A schedule of optional activities for a fee will be provided at the membership desk. Please inquire for full details if you have questions about what activities and equipment is included in your temporary membership fee.

Current temporary membership privileges include:

Moonlight Lodge: Restaurant and Bar, Outdoor Pool/Hot Tub and Fitness Facility.

Ulery’s Lake Activity Center (equipment rental and some activities may incur additional fees - inquire for full details):

Summer: Fishing, Mountain bike trails, Stand Up Paddle Boards, Canoes and Kayaks, Archery and Sporting Clays (extra fee).

Winter: Nordic Skiing Trails, Ice Skating, Snowshoeing

Golf at "The Reserve" -- Please inquire for details. Green fees and club rentals are a separate, additional charge (fees summer 2017 are 9 holes adult is $150, 18 holes adult is $225). These fees are independently controlled by the Moonlight Club and are subject to change without notice, so if you are interested please contact us to ensure you are informed with the most current information, costs, priviledges and any restrictions. Furthermore, there are black out dates and play is limited to 5 rounds of golf per paying guest during a rental stay. Please inquire for more specific details if you plan to play golf so we can provide you with a full schedule of fees, availability and restrictions.

Adventures in Big Sky and beyond -- If you decide you want to branch out beyond the immediate opportunities of Moonlight Basin, you can drive 5 minutes down the road to the Big Sky Base area where you can mountain bike, zip line and hike. The town of Big Sky is 15 minutes down the road with a host of restaurants and shopping options. The area surrounding Big Sky offers enormous opportunities for world class fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and white water rafting.

To top it all off, the West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park is also only 45 miles away!

Why Apres Ski Properties chose Big Sky

We chose Moonlight because this side of Big Sky Resort fit our needs and preferences being less crowded, great views (we love the Spanish Peaks), the crowds are smaller during peak ski season, the runs are long and gorgeous, the area is very quiet and peaceful. Lastly, the ski in/ski out access from this home was too good to be true!

What makes this house unique

As stated above, the home offers super easy access to Iron Horse lift, it is very peaceful and less crowded. We have a newly remodeled boot room that allows for storage of skis, boards, and accessories. Plus a 8 pair boot dryer/heater.

The views of Spanish Peak are exceptional. We love sitting on the deck and watching the sunrise and sunsets.

Fantastic home!!! Spectacular views. Wonderful fireplace with wood provided! Beautifully decorated home. Furniture comfortable. Plenty of blankets towels etc. plenty of throw blankets to keep warm in those chilly nights after skiing. Great boot room with boot warmer. Boot room fit skis boots poles Outerweather clothes. A true ski in ski out home. Owner is just lovely and always available as was the property management. Company. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. If we come back to big sky again (and it is likely we will) I will most definite be choooisng this house again

Beautiful ski in/out home with spectacular views

The house is beautiful and was perfect for our family of 11. It truly is a ski in and out home, which made it convenient to come back for lunch and/or breaks. Both Big Sky and Madison Base were easily accessible from the house. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax after skiing. We hardly left the house except to ski. We hope to make this an annual trip. I would highly recommend this lovely home.

Terrific Mountain Home!

Just spent a long weekend at the house for some February skiing, and both the house and the skiing exceeded all of our expectations.

There's an equipment room for your ski gear connected to the kitchen.... finish your breakfast, pull your boots off the boot warmer, grab your skis, and step out the back door directly onto a small groomed run. Make a couple of warm-up turns and you're on the lift, with the whole mountain to explore. I've skied all over the western US, and Big Sky has become my favorite mountain. I don't know of anywhere else which has this variety of skiing. Outstanding terrain for every level of skier.

The house itself is fantastic. Spacious yet cozy. Decorated well yet very comfortable and livable. Great views of the surrounding peaks. The beds were very comfortable, and the sleeping arrangements seem like they would work well for a variety of family sizes / ages.

All in all, a great choice. Definitely hoping it won't be my last visit.

Loved it!

My herd likes to play hard during the day and then hang out and cook fabulous food in the evening and play games. This house hit all of our needs and desires. Owner is super friendly and helpful. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals for a herd.

The ability to ski in and out is fabulous and makes it easy to have lunch at the house; warm up and heard back out. The ski room kept our gear from being scattered through out the house.

The house is beautiful and views are stunning.

Claire de Lune is Wonderful!

Home is great ski in/ski out location! Decor is warm and cozy. Sleeping arrangements are plentiful. The number of bathrooms is great for the number of people able to stay. Big improvement on kitchen utensils. The boot warmer in the boot room is the greatest and accommodates several pairs!!! We have stayed at this home several times in the past, and the new owners' improvements are great-mattresses, kitchen utensils, and did I mention the boot warmer! Look for the crescent moon outside by the boot room door when skiing home! I hope you enjoy your stay as much we did! Counting the days the days to next season, hoping Claire de Lune is available!

This luxury mountain home is located in the heart of Cowboy Heaven in Moonlight Basin. A summer day begins with coffee on the deck watching the sun rise, dew dripping off the trees, birds singing, and taking in mountain air refreshing all your senses. After a breakfast fit for mountaineers or yogis, head out for a hike in Beehive Basin, visit Yellowstone Park, partake in fly fishing on the Gallatin River, take a leisurely stroll in town, horseback riding through lovely trails surrounded by mountains in Moonlight or Lone Mountain Ranch, swim at Ulery's (membership needed), golf at Moonlight reserve where you are immersed in mountains and beauty (membership needed), rock hounding, bungee jumping, zip line, mountain biking, spa day, and much, much more. For a bit of lunch there are many options. Our favs include Olive Bee's, Bugaboo Cafe, Cafe in Montana Supply and The Reserve at the Moonlight Golf Course (membership required). At this point, your tummy will remind you dinner is around the corner. if you prefer to eat out, we would recommend the Riverhouse. Great food, generous portions, budget friendly, lovely staff and the ambience will give you a true Montana experience. Added bonus are the views and ample outdoor seating with fire pits to warm you after the sun sets. For quicker seating, arrive around 6 pm or if you would like to take part in pool, ping pong or sit with a drink on the deck, arrive anytime. The Riverhouse is very kid friendly with plenty to keep them occupied and happy. The beer, bourbon and whiskey offerings will suit the all palates. After a day in the mountains, return to the deck with a beverage of choice, kick back and watch the Spanish Peaks as the sun set paints them in spectacular hues of pinks and reds. The temperature will cool so wrap yourself in a blanket or cozy sweater, breath in the mountain air and let you mind slip away....... Repeat
