Located on a very quiet private street within 12+ minutes walking to Harvard/Central Square-2 blocks from river. Private bedroom and bath for two are not adjacent to common area in house. Hosts are mature creative couple with ties to both Harvard and MIT. Very hospitable and welcoming to all. Our visitors report that they really enjoy the "mini-suite" feeling of the guest area of our home. It is very private, and with its own mini-refrigerator (which we keep stocked with cold beverages) and Keurig coffee maker, they can hunker-down for work or relaxation in this quiet environment. Very fast Internet and full Comcast cable package. We also provide two city bikes with helmets and locks for use by guests.

A great place to stay in Cambridge
The accommodation is great value for money. It's in a good location: a 10 minute walk from the subway and in a nice residential neighbourhood. The accommodation comprises a room and private bathroom in the basement of the owner's house. The bed is comfortable and the breakfast provided is very welcome - plus there's a great coffee machine. It was really hot when I was there, but the Dyson fan kept the room pleasantly cool. The owner is friendly and helpful, but leaves you to get on with things. Overall, a great place to stay.
Thank you, Jon! Very gracious of you. And, as a semi-literate man, I appreciate someone who knows the proper grammar for the word "comprises," as opposed to the felony offense of saying "... is comprised of"!
Great location, cozy accommodations
A great location to the T and bus. Host is very attentive and accommodating. The space was a bit cozy for two people, but it worked.
Quiet residential area but easy walk to Harvard & Cambridge
Apartment is quite small and arguably not best for anyone wanting to do serious cooking. Aside from that, Richard was an excellent host. We arrived in the evening after a transatlantic flight, so to have coffee, milk, orange juice, muffins etc laid on was a real bonus.
While there was a shared entrance and staircase, it was a good balance for us between friendliness and privacy. Would certainly consider a return visit.
Terrific location, great host, loved our stay here.
Richard is a fabulous host. He went out of his way to accommodate our special needs, communication has been excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. The room is comfortable, well provided with a fridge, microwave and toaster/convection oven for easy meal preparation.
The location is central, with a short walk to shops and the subway.
We enjoyed our stay here and the hosts were very helpful in taking care of all our needs. Very nice breakfast supplies were provided which made for a nice start to the day. The location worked well for us, esp since we were fairly near the Central Square T stop. There is a nice little Italian restaurant nearby on Western Ave and we enjoyed being so near the Charles River.
Wonderful family and location
We stayed with these two for 5 nights and they were absolutely fabulous hosts; so personable and easy to talk with. Having a washer and dryer at our disposal was great. Very short walk right to the red line, which is so convenient. Park behind the house is a great plus, we had an awesome time walking around the playground/field and watching everyone play with their dogs!! Lots of great cafes and restaurants within five minutes walking distance. Parking was not a problem at any time.
My fiancee popped the question during our stay (yay!!) and they surprised us with a wonderful bottle of champagne as a celebration gift...very heart warming and kind. Luna, their pup, is an absolute 20/10 as well. We'd love to stay with Richard and his family again when we visit for another Bruins game!! Thank you again for being great hosts and having us!
