About the property

5 Bedroom 5.50 Bathroom

This estate combines everything you could want from a Tahoe retreat--lakefront location, a piers, space and elegance at every turn. The second-floor great room has peaked ceilings and many trademarks of Tahoe charm, including a custom stone hearth, a stone “window” between the kitchen and living area, and deer above the fireplace. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, with top of the line appliances, granite countertops, and lots of counter space for entertaining and meal prep. In addition to a dining area that seats ten, there’s also a cafe table in the kitchen, making it easy to gather for a casual, intimate meal. Downstairs, there’s an additional common area with a warm, cozy feel; enjoy curling up by the fire, holding a family movie night, or a playing a friendly game of pool. The massive master bedroom is upstairs and has the same high, peaked ceilings as the living room, as well as a stone fireplace and sitting area/dressing room. Its ensuite master bathroom includes his-and-hers sinks and a large, round tub for unwinding at the end of the day. The four bedrooms on the first floor, offer plenty of space and well-appointed style.

The location of this home is simply spectacular: It sits right on Lake Tahoe and has breathtaking views from the yard or the large back deck. The outdoor space has been curated to take advantage of this site--the deck has two dining tables and a set of chaise lounges, perfect for meals al fresco. There is also a second deck tucked away, so you can enjoy the hot tub in privacy. The backyard, which sits right upon the Lake, has a large stone patio and an expansive barbecue station built into the garden wall.

This is the ideal spot to explore all that the Lake has to offer. The property has one buoy, plus a pier for guest use; the pier even has an upper deck with Adirondack chairs, so you can watch the sun rise or set over the lake! The pier is also outfitted for boat access, and the buoy provides a safe spot for storage at night.

Overall, this is all wonderful property with a great location but needs a little TLC!

  • 3 of 5

First, we are a group of 8 senior adults with extensive travel experience and we all agreed we loved the home and would come back in the future. The location was wonderful and the views of Lake Tahoe are over-the-top and being on the lake was a big plus. However, we also agreed that both the owners and the management company of this property should be made aware of certain short comings as follows:

1. The property should be rented with a complete list of instructions which would include use of boating equipment and location of life preservers, TVs, hot tub, fire pit, access to garages, sound system, etc.

2. Landscape lighting has several light bulbs burned out and they need to be replaced ASAP since this is a safety issue when trying to use the outdoor kitchen, pier, and fire pit at night.

3. This 5 million dollar home has a beautiful kitchen but needs to be better equipped with dish towels, casserole dishes, wine glasses, cookie sheets etc. The coffee pots needs to be replaced in the worst way and one of the blenders' leaks.

4. We as a group didn't miss TVs much, however, hurricane IRMA was making landfall and we had no TV to speak of. Also, it is football season and the men wanted to watch games.

5. The downstairs' hall bathroom toilet seat needs to be replaced since it is broken and it looked like it has been repaired with glue The master bedroom has screw holes in the wall where a piece of art has been removed. A thermostat in the master bedroom has been replaced with a smaller unit leaving an unpainted wall exposed.

6. A major irritation for the ladies was the fact that not one bathroom had a hair dryer.

7. The Bear proof trash containers were half full when we arrived.

These may be minor issues but it shows signs of neglect and property mismanagement. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved for future renters.

All in all it was a very nice stay..

  • 4 of 5

The house and location were wonderful..there were, though, a couple of missteps along the way in regards to the description in the listing of the property as well as the communication with the listing company when attempting to address these issues..some were resolved..some were not possible to do so...that was unfortunate as it took away from a "perfect" stay!

Unbeatable location and lakefront amenities - house lacking basics

  • 3 of 5

This house has great lakefront amenities, but the house itself is lacking. It started with the fact that there weren't beds to sleep 12 people as advertised. We resolved that eventually, and to our satisfaction, but there were basic things at the house that didn't work and were never resolved. The oven didn't work, the TV didn't work and the garbage disposal didn't work. There weren't beach towels for the lake, which would have been fine if it had been noted in the description so that I could have brought some. For what we paid to rent this house, it was unbelievable that there were so many problems. We have rented homes on VRBO in many states and several countries and I have never had to call a property manager with as many issues as I did on this house. While we loved the lakefront and the dock, the issues with the home were a major drawback. We wouldn't rent this house again.

Owner's Response: Hi Steven, We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. Sounds like there was some confusion regarding bunk beds vs. other beds, but this home does have 5 bedrooms that sleeps 12 but we'll definitely make the bedroom layout more clear. Per the listing this home does not have cable, but we will make this more clear as well. We hope you'll consider staying with us again at another one of our homes. rentLEVER

Absolutely fantastic house. Unique location !

  • 5 of 5

The lakefront house is protected from the sun by a few trees. The scenery is fantastic, the house is in great shape. Canoes and stand up boards are there, also , plenty of terraces . Rooms are great. Could not be better.
