About David Walker
'Wolf Glen' derived its name from the many Jack London novels that were about wolves. Jack London lived in Glen Ellen and the state park named after him is a short walk from our home. Also, dedicated to our dog Juneau (pictured) had 'wolf' characteristics and we decided (as most dog lovers do) that this was actually his house. We dedicate our home in his memory. :) As for the 'Glen' part, the trees are so beautiful that we had to use 'Glen' in the name. We do hope that Wolf Glen is all that you want it to be and more - enjoy!!
David Walker purchased this House in 2012
Why David Walker chose Glen Ellen
The creek, the trees, the tranquility and the location to restaurants, wineries and the Glen Ellen Market make this home ideal for visiting the wine country. We have looked for a home in Sonoma County for years and stayed in vacation rentals throughout the wine regions and finally settled on the town of Glen Ellen due to its central location in the Sonoma Wine Valley and its proximity to the Napa Valley. Once we settled into the town of Glen Ellen we fell in love with the heart of the community and everyone we have met.
What makes this House unique
We found Wolf Glen on a lark and fell in love with it immediately. The home feels elegant and sophisticated, and offers a unique balance of privacy and access to the heart of downtown Glen Ellen. We can walk to restaurants, winery tasting rooms, and a gourmet grocery store yet the home is on a private, quiet road and feels as if it in the middle of no where. The stars at night are amazing. Just short walk from the home we can enter into Sonoma Regional Park and hike up in the hills, or drive a short mile and be in Jack London State Park.

Beautiful quiet property with amazing kitchen and host
I booked three nights at Glen Wolf with three other couples for a birthday. David made sure everything was right every step of the way. Communication was great and I felt comfortable for the entire booking process. The property itself is located in a quiet street complete with soft creek sounds and beautiful trees to shade the area. Upon arrival, David made sure we were set with local wine tastings and nice restaurants to check out, all within a very short walking distance!
The place itself was clean and comfortable, the kitchen is really the center piece with everything a chef could think of. We had David cater dinner one night and it was such a lovely time, I could finally relax after a long hard day of wine tasting. The food was amazing and he made sure to ask about any preferences or allergies.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wolf Glen and definitely a highlight during our visit to the Napa/Sonoma area
Great time was had by all!
We had a great time here. The house was spacious, the kitchen well stocked and all of the bedrooms were large with plenty of room for everyone. When not enjoying the beautiful outdoor space, we spent time just sitting around the large dining room table eating, drinking, and laughing. We were walking distance to the store and local restaurants too. Highly recommend it!
Wolf Glen was ideal in every way for our girls' weekend.
First, the location: None of us had ever been to Glen Ellen though we had been to other towns in the Sonoma and Napa areas. The setting was other-worldly - we could have been in France. The village of Glen Ellen is cozy, quaint, beautiful, historic, and steps away from Wolf Glen's front door.
Second, the house itself. Warm, welcoming, plenty of space and a glorious creek running behind that you can hear when you open the sliding doors or enjoy the sprawling deck. Importantly, lots of bathrooms. We cooked one meal there, lounged in the living room, ate cheese and olives on the deck, took several strolls to the village and were fortunate enough to meet one of the owners on our way in who was lovely and genuinely happy to share his amazing home with us.
Third, getting to see what it might be like to live in WINE COUNTRY. We didn't know how much we needed this getaway, and finding Wolf Glen on a beautiful, warm spring weekend was a lucky break. Absolutely ideal.
The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. It is situated in a lovely setting; brook, trees
Wolf Glen is the perfect place to stay while visiting wine country. It is centrally located in Sonoma County with easy access into Napa Valley. We gathered around the kitchen and living room to eat snacks and play games. We enjoyed the decks overlooking the burbling stream with humming birds flitting around and shady mossy trees. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of bathrooms for the nine of us to get ready at the same time. Walks into Glen Ellen for the market, restaurants and night life. We simply had a great time!
Love Glen Ellen - great place for great food, wine tasting, small-town feel and no limos.
Want to get away from the tourist crowds, traffic jams and limos of Napa?
This house is in walking distance to all that the small, cozy, lovely and yet sophisticated wine country village of Glen Ellen has to offer.
Fours tasting rooms, four excellent restaurants (including the no-corkage-ever Fig Café), an awesome bar in an historic brick building, and the amazing Glen Ellen market.
Perfect to get away from it all, yet just an hour north of the Golden Gate bridge, and with all the sophistication of Sonoma Wine Country right there.
We'll be back.
Beautiful home, fully stocked kitchen & walk to town!
We spent Christmas at the Wolf Glen house and it was such a warm and comfortable gathering place for our family. I had packed a few Christmas ornaments in the car to make the place merry but nothing was needed -- the house had elegant and charming lights and ornaments all set up. One of the owners is a caterer so the kitchen is better stocked than ours at home -- and we're avid cooks! Great pots, pans, knives, wineglasses and more. Four large and very comfortable bedrooms give everyone lots of space. Out the front door in just a short walk you can get to the wonderful market, Glen Ellen Star, The Fig Cafe, and the lovely regional park walking trails. Truly, a perfect spot and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended!!
NOTE: Downtown Glen Ellen SURVIVED the Northbay fires as did our neighborhood and our home, Wolf Glen. Our hearts go out to those impacted by the fires... Sonoma Wineries and Restaurants are OPEN for business - let's SUPPORT them.
Set in the heart of Glen Ellen featuring 4 outstanding restaurants, a gourmet grocery store, 3 winery tasting rooms and boutique shops all within a 2 - 5 minute walk from the house. Wolf Glen is just 10 miles to Sonoma Plaza, 12 miles to down town Santa Rosa, and a 30 minute drive to the Russian River, Napa, and Alexander Valley wine regions.
