About Don Vigil

Our family is from Albuquerque, New Mexico, where my wife and I own small businesses. Our son is an illustrator who graduated from Ringling College of Art in Sarasota, and our daughter is in the jewelry business in Denver. She and her husband have a baby boy and a toddler girl.

Don Vigil purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Don Vigil chose Sarasota

This cozy little place was purchased when our son was a student at The Ringling College of Art, since it was so close to school. We decided to hang on to it after he graduated giving us a new and interesting place for us to spend vacations, especially during the winter.

Great place!!

  • 5 of 5

My son and I were recently in Sarasota for 7 days for a baseball tournament. This was the perfect little getaway house for us. Beautifully decorated and nicely furnished. It is in a great location, close to everything. I was particularly thankful for the washer and dryer as I had to wash uniforms in a daily basis! I would definitely stay again. We loved our visit.

Absolutely splendid

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I loved the five nights we spent in this charming cottage. Our mini poodle loved the fenced and secure back yard, and so did we. The old pin oaks dripping with Spanish moss were lovely. Lots of greenery and palms in the neighborhood create shade, very nice for walking. The quiet neighborhood has a mellow, friendly vibe. Bustling downtown is about 8 minutes away. Great restaurants and shopping. Try Libby's Cafe on Siesta Key! Whole Foods is about 4 minutes away. The cottage was comfortable, and immaculate, with everything one would need. Morning coffee on the screened front porch was wonderful. The owner is 100% responsive. We have only thumbs up for this delightful cottage -- and Sarasota itself!

Just perfect

  • 5 of 5

We spent 8 nights at this lovely home and were sad to leave. It truly is a perfect spot on a quiet street close to downtown (one mile to downtown) and one block from the bayfront area. We enjoyed the bicycles tremendously. The front porch is serene, the back yard perfect for my pup. We found everything we could possibly need; an iron, beach chairs, great lighting, storage, velvet hangers, cooking equipment, extra blankets an pillows. The cottage decor is adorable. I would truly recommend this rental.

Winter getaway

My husband and I just stayed for a week at your cottage. It was a wonderful home with everything you need for a great vacation. We loved walking to the beach shore every day

The porch was lovely. You are minutes from beach, shopping and restaurants but the area is so quiet and friendly We hope to return again🌴🔆

We used this home for our August honeymoon this year. We are from NC and wanted to stay in Florida. After research, I found Siesta Key and that's what lured is here. This location was close enough to everything, beaches, restaurants, shopping etc. The home was enough room for us and our two dogs who enjoyed the fenced in yard. The home was very clean upon arrival with roses and champagne waiting for us "thank you!!". I would recommend this home for a stay in Sarasota. The only thing negative and I'm not familiar with the area, Indian beach is misleading. T was stated just a couple blocks away from Indian beach sapphire shores. This is not a beach that you would back the beach bag and stay the afternoon. Lovely to walk by but for swimming and beaching you have to drive 10 minutes to get to the popular beaches. Which isn't a problem. Next time I would've just stayed somewhere a little closer for a beach trip. Overall lovely and we enjoyed our stay! Sorry for the late review.

Where do we begin!! If you are looking for a immaculate, charming, safe, beautiful vacation rental with every amenity you could possibly imagine then this is the place for you. They even provide you with beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas and

Beach toys!!

Our favorite part of this bungalow was the enclosed porch. Great for sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine or morning cup of coffee without bugs to interrupt you.

The decor is posh and well ... we didn't want to leave!

We just spent the week of Spring break with our six-year-old daughter in Sarasota and had no idea what a lovely town it is and how much there is to do.

You are 10 minutes from the beach, great restaurants, the harbor and great shopping.

We are already looking at our calendar and cannot wait to go back!

This cozy cottage is close to the best that Sarasota has to offer. It is just 5 to 10 minutes to the fabulous Ringling Museum, Ringling Circus Museum and downtown Sarasota, not to mention Sarasota-Bradenton Airport. It is just two blocks to the Ringling College of Art and ten minutes to New College of Florida and the University of South Florida. In addition, the location is within fifteen minutes of fabulous shopping at St. Armand's Circle and the sugar white, nationally ranked Siesta Key Beach.
