We had a great stay here, loved the private deck! Will certainly be back again! Victoria BC
We stayed at the cabin from July 1 - 8, 2016. We truly enjoyed our stay. It's exactly as it's described...bachelor style one room with a great view of the lake. We had our own private deck and dock and use of kayaks. The lounger on the dock was perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine when viewing the sunset. A couple of minor mentions for those interested in renting: 1. There is no power outlet at the bathroom sink for curling irons, blow dryers or electric shavers. 2. There's not storage space for your clothes but if you are able to live out of a suitcase, there's enough space to house 2 large suitcases on the floor. 3. The cooking pan needs replacing as it's warped. Otherwise, the kitchen is well appointed and the BBQ works great. We even used the oven to cook pizza one night and it was great...oh, there's no pizza pan or cookie sheets so we had to improvise. 4. Their dogs like to come and visit so if you don't like dogs or are allergic, you may wish to mention it to Cathy before you arrive.
Our hosts were building a new dock on our last day there and it was a bit noisy but it was a rainy day anyway so we were okay with it.
There are 2 great restaurants nearby, one right on the same road that you can walk to or kayak. The other is on the far side of the lake and a bit far to kayak to but you can drive there in about 10 minutes. The far one is open year round whereas the closest one is only during the summer months. Great food at both.

We had a fabulous time at this perfect lil' cabin. Everything was clean and nicely appointed and we appreciated the privacy we enjoyed for the weekend. We will definitely be back and hope to stay a little longer!!!!! Thank you!
My wife and I spent four nights over the Christmas holidays here, and we absolutely loved it. It was our second time here.
It's the perfect size for a couple. It seems that every little detail has been thought through. The kitchen is well stocked, there's no shortage of towels, the views from the back patio overlooking the lake are stunning, and the electric fire place pumps out a lot of heat to keep the cabin warm.
We can't wait to come back!

the cottage is cute, but very tiny - essentially one room. it might be fine for one or two days but we were there over a week and found it extremely dysfunctional for the following reasons:
1. the shower and tub are out in the open in the kitchen end of the room.
2. the bath sink is next to the bed, but there is no light or electrical outlets by the sink, making it extremely difficult to use it to get cleaned up, shave, fix hair, make-up etc.
3. there are no hooks or anyplace to hang or put your clothes. we had to leave suitcases out, taking up what little floor space there was.
4 only one wicker reading chair which was uncomfortable and there was no light or lamp to read by. I had to sit in bed and use a tiny bedside lamp, taking the shade off and putting it up on a window shelf to get some light!
5. almost every night our garbage can was raided by a bear -all our garbage shredded all over the yard, over and over again. they need a bear-proof container like we had at a previous cottage.
Wonderful little cabin! If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is the place!
Our hosts were very welcoming and we will definitely be back!
We spent a pleasurable three days at the cabin in spite of chilly, wet September weather (14o C to 16o C!)
The cabin was cozy, and Sproat Lake had held its summer heat, so we had a long swim every midday.
We even managed to kayak over to see the petroglyphs in a dry break in the weather.
The cabin is beautifully appointed with everything one might need---except for a good reading light.
There are lots of thick white towels but we were hesitant to use them as swimming towels.
Midweek the Lake was quiet, and friendly Jessie (Braiden), the Chocolate Lab was our only visitor.
Highly recommended, whatever the weather. The booking was handled in a very businesslike manner.
Sproat Lake is a world famous recreational lake and home of the Famous Mars Martin water Bomber Planes. You have a view of these planes from the deck of this great cabin. Check out the ancient Sproat Lake Petroglyphs only a few minutes from this destination. Lots of mountain bike trails in the area and tennis courts within walking distance.
