This pretty house has a bright airy Living room with Dining area and American Kitchen.

The dining area seats up to 4/5 people.

In the living room there are a two seater sofa & a three seater sofa, free-standing fan,42 inch flat screen TV, some UK TV and world movies via Android TV Box, Spanish TV ,DVD player and CD player. Android box can also access European language TV channels _ French, German etc.

The kitchen is equipped with ceiling fan,washing machine, fridge-freezer,oven/grill,4 ring ceramic hob, griddle/hot plate/plancha,microwave,electric kettle,toasted sandwich maker,toaster,cafetiere,iron and ironing board.

At the front of the house there is a small terrace with a table and 4 chairs .

On the second floor there are double and twin bedrooms with wardrobes,chests of drawers and bedside tables. Both bedrooms have a ceiling fan and a free standing fan.

A hair drier is provided and located in the chest of drawers in the double bedroom.

Bed linen and towels are supplied but there is no bedding for the folding cot, so please bring your own.

For the beach there are 4 Chairs, a folding 'bed',4 towels, 2 x parasols, cool box and ice packs.

The fully tiled bathroom has a bath with shower, washbasin with cupboard under , bidet, toilet.

All windows have fly screens.

There is a NO SMOKING policy at this property.

On the third floor is a roof terrace with table and several chairs, two sun loungers,gas barbeque,washing line and clothes airer.

2 bicycles available for weekly hire - price to be agreed.

The house is on the Residencial Fuentemar Complex. This is a quiet,friendly place with beautifully maintained gardens and swimming pools, 2 for adults and one for toddlers and babies.Please note these pools have life guards from 15th June until 15th September.

There are a number of restaurants on the sea front but 2 in particular will allow you to use their WiFi if you buy a drink or some food.

Of course, WiFi is free at the house.

Garrucha town is a very Spanish fishing village, commercial port and leisure port. The fishing industry is thriving and you can see the boats bringing back their daily catch to sell to the many local restaurants. There is a great Friday market which extends through many of the towns main streets. The shops are varied and interesting.There is live music played nightly in the restaurants.

Not far along the coast is Mojacar which has a very different feel. Here you will enjoy the hustle and bustle of a seaside resort with many English shops and bars.Restaurants of all flavours are available - Indian,Chinese,Argentinian,Mexican,Texan (Cowboy Cocina is one of our favourites) Fusion,English and,oddly enough,many good Spanish ! A very good bus service is available along the coast from Vera to the far end of Mojacar. Nightlife along Mojacar Playa goes on until the early hours during the high season.

Above and behind the playa is the very interesting old mountain town of Mojacar Pueblo with many shops and bars.

Altogether this is a lovely part of Andalucia with something for everyone.

About Tony and Julie Martin

For the last 9 years we have lived in Spain in the Sierra de Los Filabres (Mountains of the Filters) about 45 minutes inland from Casita Sophie.Before our move to Spain we lived in Cheshire. Having travelled all over the UK with our work,we are now retired.We have 1 daughter who is married with 1 daughter (our granddaughter)and lives in Cheshire.

Why Tony and Julie Martin chose Mojacar area

Our main reason for buying this house was because we live inland we wanted a holiday home near the coast.Having guests stay to enjoy our house is a bonus to us.It is very close to the beach which can be reached on foot in 4 minutes by Tony and 5 minutes by Julie ! It takes a similar time by car by a different route.There are also all kinds of restaurants and facilities in the area including the AquaPark and an excellent bus service. The house is well laid out and people say it is larger than it looks in the photos.The Residencial is very attractive and is maintained to very high standards.

What makes this house unique

We like the fact that, whilst most of the properties on the complex face each other,our property looks out over a rambla (river bed). The roof terrace is a good place to top up your tan, cook a meal on the BBQ and eat your food.Then relax in the evening with a very inexpensive bottle of wine or beer.

Mojacar Pueblo is a pretty Moorish village,set on a mountain side 10 minutes drive away A bit further,45 minutes drive,is the famous Mini Hollywood where such films as A Fistful of Dollars was made with zoo,museum,wild west shoot-out and much more.There is a fabulous Aquapark 5 minutes from your holiday home.Further afield, 2 hours drive along excellent motorways through spectacular scenery, is the historic city of Granada with the wonderful Alhambra Palace and old Moorish centre.Within a short drive there are a number of world class golf courses to challenge the most ardent golfer, with facilities to keep the non-golfers happy too. The local beaches are sandy and not overcrowded. Garrucha has a busy port and marina. Walk along the promenade and browse the art and craft stores selling their wares on the long summer evenings or have a delicious meal in one of the famous fish restaurant

The apartment is very well equipped - it has everything you need and Tony met us on arrival and showed us around. The roof top deck is great.

A month of sun in mid winter!

Casita Sophie is a small but well maintained house ideal for a small family or couple. It is located in Playa Laguna within easy walking distance to local amenities which include a number of small supermarkets, restaurants, cycling shops and bars. It is also within a 10 to 15 minutes walk (or 5 mins cycle) from Garrucha along a nice and well maintained promenade. The house was clean, well equipped and boasted a lovely roof top terrace for sunbathing and sundowners. The house is south facing so the porch area was a real sun trap and great for breakfasting. Tony and Julie were very helpful both prior to our arrival and during our stay. We shall be returning next year.

Our 3rd holiday here!

Our 3rd holiday here and as perfect as our previous 2. Tony and Julie, the owners, think of everything to make this house a 'home from home'. Very clean and comfortable - could not be bettered. Garrucha has multitude of great places to eat - we were spoilt for choice. This holiday house is in the perfect spot to explore the beautiful coastline. We would give it 6 stars if we could! Fantastic Home from Home

Beautiful place to stay! Lovely and clean and really well equipped. Mornings spent on front terrace and many an afternoon on the roof terrace. Great beach chairs, cool box and even towels provided! The kitchen has everything you need, ice packs in the freezer which certainly came in handy even in April. The lounge area easily seats 4 people, with two sofas and a dining table. The bed is really comfortable (unusual in holiday accommodation) The house overlooks the 'rambla' and we were serenaded at night by mating frogs! (So we were told) Around 5 minutes walk to beach, a couple of bars and restaurants, and an easy pleasant stroll into Garrucha.

The owners Tony and Julie have made this house into a lovely holiday home -it is a really comfortable place to stay, and we will definitely be back! Thankyou

Great central spot

Arrived lunch time and Julie and Tony were there to meet us and give us all the info we needed. The house was lovely and clean, fully equipped with everything and more that you could need. Probably one of the best spots in the development because it wasn't overlooked at the front (facing a rambla). The house has a lovely sunny patio where we enjoyed breakfast, plus a large roof terrace which receives the sun all day until it gets low. Fully equipped with lots of fans to keep us cool too. The house is just a very short walk to a fabulous promenade where there are bars, restaurants and you can walk into garucha within about 10 mins. Remember to visit Vera and Bedar for lovely (and cheap) tapas. Lovely places to try are la Terrazza Carmona in Vera and La Tropezienne (French pastries and delicious coffee) in Mojacar Playa, and The Argentinian Aberdeen and Hereford steak restaurant on the main road into garucha, just a five minute walk away. Also the Bistro on the sea front offers something a bit different if you are all Tapa'd out!

The house is situated on Vera Playa on the outskirts of Garrucha which is an old Spanish fishing village, lying between Mojacar and Vera. Around the marina are plenty of bars and restaurants to suit most tastes. The area is renowned for its fabulous seafood. In high season the Garrucha promenade has a late night market with craft stalls and gifts that is great for a stroll after an evening meal. There are plenty of pavement cafe bars in which to watch the world go by.

Local activities include water sports, fishing, deep sea diving, horse riding, 5 golf courses, go-carting and also a water park approximately 1 mile away. There is a bus which takes you straight there and back along the coast to Mojacar.

Mini-Hollywood is only a 45 minute drive away. This is where such films as The Good The Bad and The Ugly were made. There is a well maintained Zoo and the price includes use of the pool.

Golf: There are a number of excellent golf courses within easy reach of Garrucha e.g.. Valle del Este is an 18 hole PGA golf course, the Indiana Course on the Desert Springs Golf Resort and Marina Golf in Mojacar which offers an 18 hole, par 72 course. There is enough to satisfy the most ardent golfer.
