A Wonderful Place to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This holiday season, the two of us decided to spend Christmas away from the hustle and bustle of family and city. With two dogs, a desire to explore nature's beauty, and a renewed sense of adventure, we found a perfect little getaway in Tom's Bryce Canyon Retreat! The home is large, warm, and comfortably nestled atop a hill with amazing views in all directions. The breathtaking scenery will satisfy the most travelled nature lover, especially during the winter months with bright white snow gently resting on red rock mountain cliffs that can only be truly appreciated in person. And feel free to get closer to that beauty because hiking, biking, and exploring is literally right out the back door! Inside, all of the amenities that can be expected are present and easily accessed. The fully stocked kitchen is easy to use and fun to cook in. The living spaces are open and inviting. The fireplace inside is warm and inspiring, while the fire pit outside is an entire evening of entertainment in and of itself. The bedrooms are comfortable and roomy. The bathrooms are well maintained and exceptionally clean. Oh, and don't forget about the pool table downstairs with the largest, most authentic hardwood bar you've ever seen in a private residence! Long story short, if you are looking to stay in this (perhaps the most beautiful) part of the great state of Utah, you will not be disappointed with your very own Bryce Canyon Resort!

Wonderful Trip

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our trip and the wonderful place to stay. It was perfect for our small family and would also be wonderful for a much larger family. The property had everything we really needed and was comfortable. We really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the ability to take the dogs for a walk directly out of the yard into the somewhat dry river bed. The property was close enough to Bryce Canyon that it was a short drive, but nice since it was away from the crowds that can center around the National Parks. The owner, Tom was very helpful with local information and we really enjoyed some of the smaller hikes that were close to the property. Thank you again Tom. We have wanted to make this trip for a few years and we finally were able to actually get away.

Would definitely stay here again!!!

  • 4 of 5

If you're interested in a great location to explore Bryce Canyon National Park, Kodachrome State Park, and/or Scenic Hwy 12, this home can't be beat!!! It seems like it's in the middle of nowhere but then so are these parks!!! The owner has thought of everything you could need from kitchen appliances and cookware, washer/dryer, games, pool table, satellite TV, WIFI, outside grills, picnic table, telescope, even laundry detergent. Although a little "worn around the edges" in places, it is very clean and comfortable with plenty of room. And, by the way, the master bathroom has the best shower ever!!! Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

My family just returned from beautiful Bryce canyon. This home was great and the owner was awesome. He made sure we had everything we needed. I even received a message to ask us how our stay was. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a friendly welcoming host.

Nice private retreat

  • 5 of 5

While the house is definitely dated (kind of like going to grandpa's house with all the random ephemera associated with that), it felt like home for those few days and gave the place character. The living spaces were super spacious, high ceilings, and were very relaxing. It was nice to not have any neighbors directly next to or looking into the house - so much better than getting a cabin or something. I also must mention the very EPIC man-cave with pool table and gigantic 8-seater live-edge bar, which made us wish we had more people! The man-cave leads out to a big fenced grassy dog run. There is also a river (it was dry when we were there but the kids liked picking through the river rocks) and tons of ATV trails leading out from the house. There is a big gas grill and a small charcoal one on a big deck which was great at the end of the day.

The owner was very helpful in giving suggestions on things to do, where to eat, etc, and gave extremely accurate and impressive directions on how to get to the house and other places! Helpful as it is a bit remote and cell service (mine is ATT) does not work in some areas. Lots of resources in the house as well on area hikes and activities and a kitchen that had all the tools and condiments you need if you were cooking. The ONLY thing is that we left at 9:55 am (checkout is at 10) and there was already a guy waiting, standing by his car, outside the gate for us to leave, which was a bit off-putting.
